Is Your Faith Being Tested?

If you answer no to that question, the world you live in is not here on this planet. The truth is, is that our faith is always tested. When we go through our fires we need to have faith in God to know he is always there. Some say then why do I have to go through fires? We have to shed old stuff that can be a tremendous weight on us. We have to let people go who are not beneficial to us(not in a vain way). We need to go through fires to appreciate what God has in store for us. Is it scary? Heck Yes. Is it uncomfortable? Yes. Will you make it through? Yes with God and your faith you cannot lose. One thing to remember when faith is being tested, the enemy tries and sometimes able to achieve you to be swayed. The enemy throws up nothing but past uncertainties. The enemy does this because with faith you make it to the other side. The enemy has no clue what treasures lie before you and doesn't want you to see or experience them. So know and trust in the Lord. Do not succumb to the harassment of the enemy. God has you through the fire always. 1 Peter 1:7 These have come so that your faith measures are greater then the value of gold, which perishes even though refined by fire. Your faith may be proved genuine and may result in praise, glory and honor when Jesus Christ is revealed.

Lord Please Have Mercy

Some times we just have to get on our knees to just get by the day. There are so many troubled souls in this world. We try so hard to focus on what we have to do just to get by. However just when we think we have life challenges, there is someone standing right next to you that may have more. We have to remember to give up the "I" and replace it with we. Every chance we get we should ask God to have mercy on our souls.
Matthew 11:28-30 Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.

Jumping In With A Blind Fold On

Back when I was a little girl my dad thought that it was very important for us to learn how to swim. We could not afford formal swim lessons so my dad taught us. It was my sister and I. I am not sure to this day where my dad picked up his skills, but he was bold enough to teach us. On the first day, which was the most frightening he began by saying, "jump in I'll catch you". Can you imagine a very scared nine year old, fighting the command in her mind. No, No, No, I do not want to do this. Oh my gosh I am going to drown. Then my mind switched up. Wait this is my dad. He would not let anything happen to us. I have to be brave here and jump in blind folded(closing my eyes) stepping out on faith. Today when I am challenged with newness, with unfamiliarity, with uncertainty I look to my God and say to myself, I have faith in God my father and he would never leave or forsake me. I am not afraid to jump in blind folded. Matthew 17:20 I tell you the truth, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, 'Move from here to there' and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you.

Just Do It

Habakkuk 2:4 Behold the proud, his soul is not upright in him. But the just must live by his faith. This verse tells me that when we set our selves up to be higher then most. When our intention is to think only of ourselves. That the heart and soul have not been trained properly to give of ones self. The things that go on in life will not be of satisfaction. Now there is a distinction here. To be gracious of one's achievements is how we should feel. To be humble and full of humility is good. It's when we stick our chest out and beat it (our chest) and say I deserve this, yeah, this is all me. Screech, hold on, step on the brakes. Without God's grace and mercy. Without paying your gifts forward. All your achievements fall under the heading of vanity. Bottom line. Just do it! When you gain something you have wished for and worked hard for. Thank God. Give him praise. And last but not least. Share your pearls. But do not share them amongst swine(People who resent you for your achievements. Just pray for them.

God Only Wants The Best For Us

We go through our lives so hurried, we forget that the formula for peace, life and happiness is knowing that God wants the very best for us. Understanding that if we just stop and appreciate the simple things. Waking each day with our health and strength. Appreciating the beauty of nature. Loving our families. So yes, that is all God wants is the best for us. As long as we are humble. Understand humility. Recognize when the enemy is pulling the strings, God will do his very best to show his love for us. 1 Peter 5:6-7 Humble yourselves, therefore, under the mighty hand of God so that at the proper time he may exalt you, casting all your anxieties on him, because he cares for you.

Do I Judge Ones Intention Or Not?

It is something that we ask ourselves everyday. "Did he or she just say that?" "Did they mean to do that?" "I know she just did not write that email" With these questions and or conclusions we draw on our value system. We naturally respond defensively because our hearts would not have the intention of hurting another or would we? I had a discussion the other day and in this particular part of the conversation it was said to me, when I think, I think in black and white. The only way I see things any different is when someone that I trust talks to me and makes me see another way. I think about it and wa la I understand what the intention of another could be. I find in life if we in the natural react to what we see first it often times gets misconstrued. If we just take a minute and think what would God think or do? It may give us some time to see that the intention of another can be selfish. Or the intention wasn't what you thought at all. Or that person thought they were doing their best. Intention is the key but we fall down and God and no other picks all of us up.We have to pray for those with cruel and bad intention on the other hand be patient with the ones that have good intentions but questionable communications skills. Nahum 1:3 The LORD is slow to anger and great in power, and the LORD will by no means clear the guilty. His way is in whirlwind and storm, and the clouds are the dust of his feet.

The Eleventh Hour

There are times in our lives when decisions seem to come at the last minute. But,(imagine a long pause here) is it really what it seems?(last minute). You see God has these huge master plans for all of us. Though it might seem that we are controlling our destinies, God proves over and over that we are not. There are times in our lives when the baggage we carry is so heavy and we are so weighed down we could not see to make a decision if someone gave us a crystal ball to see with. My point here is that when we take those bags away,we can see so much more. When we rely on God he helps us see clearly. Our steps have already been ordered. There are three things that keep us from seeing clearly they are: Guilt, Shame, and Blame. None of which attributes to the good. Bury those bags. At what seems the eleventh hour is not. It is the time God allows us to get rid of those bags. Amen? Deuteronomy 31:6 Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them. The LORD your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you.

Angels Come In All Shapes And Sizes

I can tell you first hand that just when I am down, when I feel my lowest, someone comes along. Or a song comes on. Or the birds start singing. But a God rescue is put before me. It is a spiritual connection like no other. When angels come forth, you overcome that heaviness. Your spirit is lifted once again. God is good.
Hebrews 1:13-14 But to which of the angels said he at any time, Sit on my right hand, until I make thine enemies thy footstool? Are they not all ministering spirits, sent forth to minister for them who shall be heirs of salvation?"

The High Tide As Opposed To The Low Tide

Fisherman Peter,Andrew,James and John relied heavily on the tides to bring in their catch. High tide would bring the schools of fish into the harbor where there nets were. Low tide allowed them to tighten their nets and bring them in filled with fish. In life we experience the same thing. If we stop to think what God provides for us. God may let us ride the high tide. Meaning he (God) allows us to go out and explore. To find what works for us. To let us gather the tools if you will, to use when the tide is low. When the tide is low the bounty is before us, because we have experienced life as it has been presented. The thing to remember is that God has those lighthouses out there so that you do not run into the rocks. You have to believe and continue to have faith.
Psalm 16:11 Thou wilt shew me the path of life: in thy presence is fulness of joy; at thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore.

It Takes Us To Stop,Look, Listen

It is not surprising that we do not take heed sometime. Some of us just forge ahead without thinking. We go to work, we interact with our friends, family and others. But do we ever just take the time to say to ourselves, wait a minute, hold on let me chill for a spell? When we Stop what we are doing. When we Look at the situation at hand. When we Listen to God. Things tend to come out so much better. Peace follows stillness. John 14:7 Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.

It's All In The Delivery

Some of us don't realize until after we have said something, that we may have been a little too abrasive. Or not thinking said something that caused a chain reaction which ended up all bad. It's all in the delivery. I have learned this lesson the hard way so many times. I now find myself practicing thinking first before I actually say something. If you notice Jesus kept his teaching to a pretty even pitch. He used a lot of parables to show the meaning of what he was teaching. If we could just realize the teaching moments in our lives. It would be so much better an outcome. Our meaning of what we were trying to say would not get lost. Practice today a different delivery method. See how much you can get with honey rather then vinegar.

God Said I Am The Alpha & Omega

God said I am the beginning and the end. Think about that for a minute.God is all powerful. He made everything we see. He can take away everything we see at anytime. I am not sure that people realize this. What we have to do here, is make the very best of our lives while we are here on this earth. It is ever so important to be a witness to the good in this world. Focus there. Do not let the devil steal your joy. Pray for angel intercession when those times faced are harder then anything that you have ever experienced. Luke 6:45 A good man out of the good treasure of his heart brings forth good; and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart brings forth evil. For out of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaks.

I Will Go That Extra Mile

There are times in our lives when we just except things the way they are. We continue to want to play it safe. We connect with others "safely". We do not want to hear anything critical about us. We get in our vehicles, go to our jobs continue with the mundane. But if you look at all of the characters in the Bible you will see that each and every one of them stepped outside of the box. They, after revelation from God, went that extra mile. They went from their mundane-ness to abundance. They stepped

up and out on faith. God goes the extra mile everyday. Why not us? Today pray for guidance. Step up your faith game. Give where you've never given before. And trust that each time you go that extra mile, God puts a star on your report card. 1 Thessalonians3:12-13 And may the Lord cause you to increase and abound (excel) in love for one another and for all, just as we do for you.So that your hearts are strengthened in holiness to be blameless before our God and Father at the coming of our Lord Jesus with all his saints.

Drop It All And Follow Me

That is what Jesus asked of his disciples. Drop it all, you will need none of your belongings. We have work to do and material things mean nothing with what and whom we have to deal with. That was some of the disciples first act of faith. Can you imagine working day and night reeling in fish nets full of fish, on the boat that you owned having someone ask you to give all of it up and follow me? It happened and these men knew that what they had to do was far more important. They were fisherman. After learning from and guided by Jesus they became the fishers of men. They in turn went out to teach of God's word. And yes, their faith waviered in those learning phases and yes they eventually got it. In today's world how many of us would be willing to do this? Give up what you know. Give up your comfort zone. Moving from one place to another, all the while knowing and trusting God. Knowing and trusting that he (God) has you. Not many would. We tend to get complacent. We except "okay I'll live with it". No God wants glory for you. If you are walking the God's path, he wants to bring goodness to your mind, body and soul. All he ask is that you "come and follow me"

Can I Get A Witness?

I used to wonder when I was growing up and visited some of the churches of my relatives, why the minister always asked "can I get a witness?" My young mind would say "witness to what?" I did not understand. My mom tried to explain, but my young mind could not wrap her meaning around my silly thoughts. Flash forward to today. Can I get a witness means something totally different to me. When God's miracles are preformed, and yes I said miracles. When we are witnesses to them first hand. When a cancer goes into remission. When a loved one changes for the better. When you get that job. When your life is spared. When your child lives through a rough illness. How can you not be a witness? So today when I am asked that question, "can I get a witness?" I say yes, yes, yes yes you can. I am a walking, talking breathing witness for my God and what he does for me and others who walk by faith and not by sight. Amen?

How Much Thanks Is Too Much

There is never a time or a place that we should not be gracious and humbled by God. He shows us over and over again his power. His mercy and rewards everlasting, to all who believe and continue to have faith. The bible says in many places, MAKE A JOYFUL NOISE. If people would stop asking Lord why me? Replace that question with Lord why not me? The lessons and answers of our lives, which in turn affects others lives will be given freely. I awake this morning so humbled. So gracious. So filled with humility. I envision David in the bible presenting himself before God as he came into this world, with no shame of his nakedness praising and thanking God. If memory serves me right, it was not until Eve convinced Adam to take a bite of the apple in the garden of Eden that our nakedness seemed shameful. David had so much to be thankful for. He praised God with so much glory. He shouted, danced and wrote about his joyful noise, his humbleness, his human-ness. All of which can be read in book of Psalms all chapters. Psalm 100:1 Make a joyful noise unto the LORD, all ye lands. Serve the LORD with gladness. Come before his presence with singing.

For The Lord Gives Wisdom

Proverbs 2:7-9 He (the Lord) stores up sound wisdom for the upright. He is a shield to those who walk in integrity. Guarding the paths of justice. He preserves the way of his Godly ones. Then you will discern righteousness ,justice ,equity and every good course. In other words in God there is wisdom, just ask for it. The wisdom given will guide you to do the right thing. You know what is so amazing? When God asked Solomon what he wished for to rule his fathers kingdom, Solomon asked for WISDOM.

How Would You Know If You Have Never Felt The Pain?

Often times we go through life not wanting to feel the pain. We are good with the great stuff but when it comes to pain we flinch, squirm, and try to avoid it. God could have wired us not to feel the pain. We all could have sailed through life with a smile on our face and not having experienced pain at all. We are suppose to feel the good as well as the bad. Both give us encouragement either to do it again because of it's rewarding nature or to not do it or experience it because it does not feel as good. The later gives incentive to do something else, to change the approach. And to understand that you have to "feel" it. Some one can tell you all day "hey the fire is hot" but until you experience a fire being hot you have no idea how it feels. And yes the fire is avoidable and can be put out by you. That is the important thing. You and your approach. You and your change. You and your out come. With God's help and guidance we can ward off the enemy all day long but we have to experience our trials and tribulations. Think of Jesus in the desert for 40 days and nights. Fasting and doing without to get closer to God for he had mankind to save and needed to experience the doing without. Because without him(Jesus) where would mankind be. He had to feel the "without" that man was experiencing. We all know the enemy was close at hand all the while tempting. Luke 4:2-12 shows you just how much the enemy wants to see you fail. Do no succumb. The test is your FAITH. Do not lose that. Amen

Lord Help Me With My Reaction Time

We are all human and God built us all mostly the same when we react to emotional stresses and strains. Crying, shouting, laughing, physical exercise. Those pretty much round out the top five reactions. There are times however, that warrant more control, more recognition of the source creating the reaction. Sometimes at our weakest moment the enemy tries really hard to jump in, because we are vulnerable at this specific time. Whoa to the enemy. When you feel your reactions escalate, meaning you feel like a match has just lit the spark in your mind and an emanate fire storm erupts. That's when the call out to God at the top of your voice comes into play. No fire storms. No eruptions. Let God grace you in the calmness that he is. We are not wired to take on this high volume reaction stuff. It takes a toll physically, mentally and spreads contagiously to others. Go to a quite place. Let Go and let God. It is much better for your health and well being. Philippians 4:6-7 Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus

This Tree Is Dead It Has Not Produced Any Fruit

In Luke chapter 13:6-10 There is a man who shows deep concern because his fig tree of three years had not shed any fruit. He told the grounds keeper, I have watched this tree do nothing at all it's just taking up space, cut it down. The grounds keeper said to the man, "Sir I mean no disrespect but do not cut the tree down, let me dig around it, fertilize and water it. I will take good care of it. If after one year it has not grown any fruit we will cut it down. In life we cannot expect to instantly see people do the right thing or know God like we do just because. No the body, mind and soul have to be fertilized, watered and fed. Those of us who have gotten it, must help those that haven't. We cannot cut the trees down because we have not seen the fruit. We have to call on God to give us strength to have the tenacity not to give up. It takes prayer and more prayer. It takes the word of God. It takes life's lessons. No the trees are not dead not in God's garden.

Ever Lasting Kindness

Isiah 54: 7-8 For a brief moment I abandoned you, but with deep compassion I will bring you back. In a surge of anger I hid my face from you for a moment, but with everlasting kindness I will have compassion on you, says the LORD your Redeemer. These verses prove that God feels too. He gets his feelings hurt too. But as the verses also say, it is but a brief moment. God says, I cannot keep this anger or disappointment in my heart. I love you. I will never leave or forsake you. I say Wow. If God can do this why can't we? Humbleness and Humility are not signs of weakness. No, by far they are not. We need to take a lesson here. There are terrible things in this world yes. However God has given us an example of how not to give up. How not to judge and hold hardness of the heart. I pray for this strength O Lord. Guide me in the righteousness of your word. This I pray in Jesus name Amen!

I Love It When God Has His Hands On Us

In the book of Samuel there is the story of Saul before he became king. On this day Saul's father sent him out to find donkeys that had wondered away. Sent along With Saul was a servant to help with finding the donkeys. The two wondered through a couple of towns asking all along had anyone seen the lost donkeys, to no avail. Saul was getting worried that they had been away so long, and that his father would have given up on finding the donkeys and would worry about his son being lost. The two came upon a town and had agreed this would be it if they did not find the donkeys they would return home. They asked to see the seer/prophet of the town in hopes that he could help. The prophets name was Samuel. He explained to Saul that God had his hand on him and that he will be king of his people and to trust and follow God's word. And his leadership would rein and be respected by the people of Israel. Saul was anointed King on the spot.Left the town returning to his home to be the man God expected him to be. On the way back they found the lost donkeys. His father was very happy and proud. God had his hands on Saul the whole time. God has his hands on you as well. Give him praise. God is looking out for us even when we think it not possible. Isaiah 49:16 See, I have engraved you on the palms of my hands; your walls are ever before me.

It's Not Just My World

I am taken aback today, I get up every morning thanking God for the world that I am in. That is selfish. I should be thankful for each individual for the world that they are in. There are people who have different challenges to meet everyday. The people who deal with cancer or other forms of detrimental diseases. There are children born in a world that we do not fully understand with Autism. Yes, this is not just my world. It is our world. I had a friend who made a very good observation this past Sunday. He said, "I chose to read today, to increase my knowledge, rather then watching a bunch of spoiled narcissistic, franchised football players." This is what we should do, (chose to read, to increase our knowledge). There is so much outside of the me,I (narcissistic) world that we are missing. Jesus died for all mankind. Lift another up out of their world today, they may need that lift because their world is heavy sometimes. Amen

And Many Among Them Shall Fall

During these most complex times, God intends for us to heed his messages. The Bible has them written from over three thousand years ago. If you notice these messages and stories you will see that history repeats itself over and over again. That the trials and tribulations that we see today have been documented in the past. Yes, "technology" is different but the main context of the way civilization has performed then verses now is the same. Greed, vanity, war, famine, natural disasters. All things destructive are common place throughout the world. So yes from the chapter of Isaiah 8:15 God warns the people, that there will be many among them who shall stumble. There will be some that will fall and be broken. Be snared and taken. These are metaphoric examples of the worlds end. However, God gives us all the same chance to believe, receive and continue to do the right thing. With the promise that while here on this earth you can make a change in yourself and for others. No need to fall prey to the ways of the world, not when we have tools to make it better. No one is perfect. God just expects us to do the best we can.

The Canvas Of Life

Who can paint a picture of you better then you? God can. Your canvas was created way before you were born. Your hair color. Your skin hue. Your eyes, their shape, their color, their character. Your height, weight and everything about you was already predetermined and predestined. When we or an outside source tries to alter our canvas, is when things get thrown out of whack. We need to wake each day praising God for our lives. Asking of him guidance, mercy and forgiveness. That's it. That simple. Our life canvas will remain in tack. The enemy has no power unless we hand it over. Stay strong in that. Recognize this. Grab your rock (the Bible) and pray especially when the battle is fierce. Mark 9:29 And the Jesus said to them, this kind cannot be driven out by anything but prayer.

We Are God's Masterpieces

Some of us go through life wishing "oh man I wish I had that" or "oh man I wish I looked like her" I say with a loud resounding UH! UH! No God made each and every one of us individually. There is not one on this earth like you. You are unique. You are beautiful. You are you. Do not waste another day wishing to be this or that. Pray to God everyday and ask him to let your beauty shine. Of course you will have to remember that this is to a gift and gifts are meant to be passed on. Psalm 139:13-18
For you created my inmost being. You (God) knitted me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made.Your works are wonderful, I know that full well. My frame was not hidden from you when I was made.
When I was woven together in the depths of the earth. Your eyes saw my unformed body; all the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be. How precious to me are your thoughts God. How vast is the sum of them. Were I to count them, they would out number the grains of sand. When I awake, I am still with you.

Is Not The Lords Word Like Fire?

Jeremiah 23:29 Is not my word of the like fire? Isn't my word like a hammer that breaks rocks into pieces? The question arose with the people of Israel, they wondered who should we believe and how do we distinguish the false prophets from the Lord and his word. The chapter goes into deep explanation about this subject. The Lord basically says to the people. False prophets engage in lies, they have slippery ways. That I the Lord have shown you (the people) my ways so many times. Why keep asking? These same questions are with many today. Faith is but the size of a mustard seed. That's all God wants you to have. He knows there is no one perfect and that the enemy spreads doubt all the time. The distinguishing fact here is, that when we show God our unconditional faith, he steps in and can and will move mountains. There is no other priest or false prophet that can lay that claim. Stay in faith. Reinforce your faith everyday. Read your Bible. Pray for understanding.

Pursue Love And Desire Spiritual Gifts

There are so many in need of this basic need (Love). The deficit of Love is such that it is shown as an ugly pandemic among humankind. There is so much anger, so much mean spirit roaming free in this world. It is harming our young. Our old. Today challenge yourself, instead of going with the "norm" . Resist the notion of jumping on the band wagon. 1 Corinthian 14:1 Pursue love and desire spiritual gifts. Speak nicely to all you contact. Empathy, compassion allow us to wear and give love. This in turn provides a civility of dynamic proportions. Try it you will like it. It is what God does for us. And what he expects for us to do as well.

His Mercy Endures Forever

Ever had one of those non stop days when you look up at the clock and it's gone (the day)? On days like that you feel as though you are in an ocean filled with sharks and other man eating beast. You are in an orange life raft,it's bright in color and you know that everyone can see it from the shoreline but no one comes to your rescue. After an exhausting paddle to shore, by passing the fierce and ferocious sharks, man eaters and such you grab on to the only steady thing insight. The rock.(the bible). The bible has so many stories and clues as to what we can do to get through anything. Psalms 136:23-25 captures this. It was God who remembered us in our lowly state. For his mercy endures forever. And it was he who rescued us from our enemies. For his mercy endures forever. It is God who gives food to all flesh. For his mercy endures forever. Give thanks to God of the heavens for his mercy endures forever. Amen!

There Are Many Diffrent Gifts

Corinthians 12:4-6 There are different kinds of gifts, but the same Spirit distributes them. There are different kinds of service, but by the same Lord. There are different kinds of working, but in all of them and in everyone it is the same God at work. It is, expressed loud and clear. We all have the gifts. God gave them to us individually. We are all different and have something different to bring to the table. It all comes from God. Recognize this. Share your gift. Give unconditionally. Always.

To Teach

In the book of Ecclesiastes, you find many wise and teachable verses. This book along with Proverbs was written by Solomon the son of David. Ecclesiastes Chapter 3:17 says God shall judge the righteous and the wicked. For there is a time there for every purpose and for every work. In other words, those that give from their hearts with love and understanding for his fellow man shall be judged on the merits of their works. Those that follow the path of wickedness and vanity, shall too be judged by their works. We walk everyday among the oppressed and down trodden, do not judge them, do not turn away. You may not have silver or gold but you have knowledge. You have love in your heart. Pass it on. It is said that Ecclesiastes 5:18 it is good and fitting for one to enjoy the good of all his or her labor of which you have toiled all the days under the sun of which God has given you it is your heritage. Nothing wrong with that at all. Know that God has seen and knows your heart. And knows that this is what you deserve because it all has come from a good place. Do not be afraid to share knowledge and wisdom it is a gift meant to be passed on.

Are We Up For The Challenge?

Back in the day the middle east experienced a lot of changes. You may find one region full of crops with plenty of water to feed the multitudes and some regions that were in desperate times. Plagued with famine and starvation. Unruliness and sin. Such a place was Samaria. The famine was so bad ungodly things were happening for people to survive. There was one figure who rose above this degradation. His name was Elisha. He was a godly man and he helped the true believers through this horrible time. His challenges came by way of the kings army officers. One challenge stands out in particular. Elisha explains a vision to these soldiers. There will be on tomorrow someone placed at the gates of this city who will have some flour, some wheat and know of where there is plenty more to help feed this starving city. The soldiers response "Look if the Lord would make windows in heaven would this be it?" smiling in mockery. Elisha responded and said"In fact my Lord will let you see this with your own eyes, but you shall not have it for yourselves" meaning you greedy horrible acting people shall not have the gift God is bestowing on these suffering people, no indeed. My point today is that greediness and selfishness will be your demise. God does not like ugly as they say. Be of a giving heart. Cherish the love that you receive. And when challenged take the high road. Do your best and the best will be given to you. Amen This story was taken from the book of Kings 7:1-20.

Are You A Shape Shifter?

Are you something or somebody that can change from one form into another? Do your principles change with whom ever you are engaged in? There is a fundamental difference when one is cordial, pleasant, understanding, moral. As opposed to saying and doing anything and everything to advance oneself. When God made us, he made us in his image. We are not to take on any other form other then ourselves. The key here is to be yourself. Acceptance is not based on what others think. Be happy and content in your own skin. Look in the mirror daily. Love thy self. You are special. There is no other like you. God loves you for who you are. You do the same. Hebrews 10:35-36
Therefore do not throw away your confidence, which has a great reward. For you have need of endurance, so that when you have done the will of God you may receive what is promised

To Speak Or Hold Your Tongue

It seems that our voice does matter. And to speak elegantly or not is a choice that we all have. There are some who do not have a voice and need someone to speak for them. The Bible points this out on so many instances. Jesus was sent here to speak for the Jews and Gentiles alike. He was so angered to see the priest and tax collectors gathered in the place of worship that he turned the tables over, giving a true shock and awe scene. But he was angry because the powers to be were putting rituals, money and status on worshiping and being accepted by God. Jesus could no longer hold his tongue. Ephesians 2:14 For Christ himself has brought peace to us. He united Jews and Gentiles into one people when, in his own body on the cross, he broke down the wall of hostility that separated us. So when our voice can be upheld for the greater good. And we can use our voices to teach and give away knowledge. We are doing what God wants us to do.

In The Heat Of The Battle

Matt 6:34 "Give your entire attention to what God is doing right now, and don't get worked up about what may or may not happen tomorrow. God will help you deal with whatever hard things come up when the time comes. It is not easy for anyone on the inside or outside to control the emotional upswing, especially when we are defending ourselves and pointing out the ugliness of another. That is when the heat rises. Battle seems emanate. When you are passionate about something you defend that passion. When you care about something you defend to the end. The key to this journey is to yes act on it but act in a way that causes no harm. You may need to shout. You may need to scream. You may need to cry. All are built in mechanisms to release the emotion from the inside to the outside. God designed you, he knows what it takes to get there and to get back. It is so important to recognize this. Ask for his help. Just shout Lord help me here. I need you. I am made in your image. You know from where I came. Help me to get to where you want me. In the mighty name of Jesus I pray this now and when ever the battle arises. The enemy has no power over me. You do God. Amen

My Eyes See But My Heart Sees More

They say that our eyes are the key to our souls. In some respects that is true. One of Gods creatures that has swam the oceans of this earth has some of the coldest eyes that I have ever seen. Begs the question do animals have souls? Rhetorically asked in this instance. But as human beings, we show ourselves and this allows others to physically see you. This however does not define you. The old saying "Don't judge a book by it's cover" can be applied in my point. Deep down inside of us is our soul. Some have a burning fire in theirs. Some the light has been extinguished. None the less we are born with one. What is needed for our fires to remain kindled is belief in the Lord. Walking the walk. Talking the Talk. All done unconditionally. Give of one's heart. Do not be afraid to bare your soul. Reenforce this by reading from the bible daily. By going some where quiet and meditate. Trust in the lord. If there is someone who has lost his way pray for them.Psalm 34:4 I sought the Lord, and he answered me, and delivered me from all my fears.

Look Who's Coming To Dinner

It is never too late to change one's disposition. You may be teetering on the edge of belief. You may go to church and go through the rituals. You may even talk the talk but have yet to walk the walk. Back in the day there was a pretty wealthy dude who collected taxes from the hard working people of the day. His name was Zacchaeus pronounced ZA-KI-US. He had heard that Jesus was coming through his town this day and was curious to see this popular speaker. He had one draw back, he was short and could not see over the large crowd that had gathered. So to get a good look and to hear what this amazing man had to say,Zacchaeus climbed a tree. As Jesus finished his speech, he looked up and said Zacchaeus come down from that tree and let's go to your house because you are preparing dinner for me. Zacchaeus did as he was asked and converted that day from a hated tax collector to a believer. You see he had grown weary of ugliness and saw how the people had something and someone to believe in. Be thankful for change for good. Love thyself. Love God. Amen

Fear Not

1 Corinthians 10:13 No temptation has overtaken you that is not common to man. God is faithful, and he will not let you be tempted beyond your ability, but with the temptation he will also provide the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it. You see God sees and understands all. He knows we all have faults. We are by no means perfect. God does not expect us to be. What is key is that you yourself except your faults. Do not beat yourself up. Do not be in denial. Do not be defensive. Instead admit yes I am at fault. I am working to change. God help me with this. Do not be of malice. Do not hurt anyone intentionally. Thank God for showing you all things good and not so good. Give me strength to work with both. There is a lesson in all. Stay faithful. Stay humble. And work on you. Continue to give. God loves you for you.

These Are Concerning Times

The news headlines rarely give you glimpses of good and great things happening. It is mostly glum and travesty laden. Imagine during the ancient times 2 to 3 thousand years ago, how word traveled. How news was received. I do not believe the news dominated society as it does today. Many lived their lives providing for their families the best way they could. And the children were taught to do their fair share. There were some with privilege. But the humble had no desire to be like the "king". We have to teach our children today about humbleness. Teach them that it is okay to have less. Call out the ugly ones, raised by the ugly parents and pray for them. As mentors and parents we should carve out a day to ride the bus with our children. Sit in their classroom. Ask the popular kids over for lunch or a mall trip. Be all inclusive. This would bring the playing field to a more even place. Our children are our future. Psalm 127:3 Behold, children are a heritage from the Lord, the fruit of the womb a reward.

We Are Fighting For Our Lives

Each and every day there seems to be one event after another showing us that when man tries to control, man fails terribly. This world we live in is not controlled by man. What is controlled is man, and not all. The enemy does just that (control). Lead the weak and vulnerable to cliffs they are surely to fall from. Some are so easily swayed. Most are not. The spiritual warfare going on most have no idea how far and how deep this reaches. Here's the key. Know when it is the enemy. Know when you are most vulnerable. Know what to reach for. God will fight our battles if we call on him. His power is infinite. Romans 10:13 says, for everyone who calls on the Lord will be saved.

The Truth Has Power

How often do we really want to hear the truth? We may be able to take the truths of others quicker then we can ourselves.(Gossiping) When the truth of oneself is exposed it is a vulnerability often times painful to take. We have to be good with God and ourselves to accept them (truths). So many times human nature sets up a denial/defensive method or methods to protect ourselves from the truth. Here's the thing God sees all and God is okay with it. We have to learn to do the same. Okay so you made a mistake. Admit that you were wrong. Ask forgiveness and move on. When you are true to yourself, God loves you. You love you. And others will love you too.
2 Timothy 2:15 Work hard so you can present yourself to God and receive his approval. Be a good worker, one who does not need to be ashamed and who correctly explains the word of truth.

Some Have Come This Far By Faith

Faith is simply the belief in something unseen, unknowing, unexplained. "I have total faith in him". Means just that. No questions. It is easy to lose your way in this. Many have. The bible tells stories of this all the time. The one person in the bible that had his faith tested on a superior level was Job. He came through with flying colors after many trials and tribulations. Can we do this? Stay in faith? I say yes. There will be test on a daily sometimes hourly basis. We have prayer. We have the bible. We have angels that intercede. Most have come this far by faith. Others need direction. 1 Corinthians 16:13 says Be on your guard; stand firm in the faith; be men of courage; be strong.

Are You Vintage Wine Or Sour Grapes?

You know the longer wine ages the better it is. But you have to have the right key ingredients at the beginning. And yes, later in the process if adjustments are needed you have time to do that as well. A vine is a plant that needs to be supported by something solid and steadfast. Grapes are the fruit of the vine. In life we can use this analogy when we go through our daily activities. We can call on God for support. Ask God for his care and guidance with his love unconditional, or we can wither on the vine and become sour and bitter. We have a choice. The longer we let God's word meld into us, the sweeter we are. The better our vintage. 2 Corinthians 4:16-18 So we do not lose heart. Though our outer self by wasting it away, our inner self is being renewed day by day. For this light momentary affliction, is preparing for us an eternal weight of glory beyond all comparison. As we look not to the things that are seen but to the things that are unseen. For the things that are seen are transient, the things that are unseen are eternal.

The LORD Is My Shepherd

Psalms 23 says it all
The Lord is my shepherd. I shall not want. He maketh me to lie down in green pastures. He leadeth me beside the still waters. He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake. Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me. Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies, you anoint my head with oil. My cup runneth over. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the Lord for ever. Amen

The Sun Rises In The East And Sets In The West

Every day like clock work, the sun rises, illuminating such beauty. If you are in tune to God's universe you see and hear so much at this day beginning. A new and fresh start. A routine for some. We should relish this wonderful time. Thank God for waking up. Set goals for our day. Make peace with anything keeping us from our mission. (To be a cheerful, unconditional giver). To love our neighbor as we would have him or her love us. And to forgive those who trespass against us. At the end of our day as the sun sets, we once again thank the Lord for getting us through. For providing the armor needed to ward off the enemy. For provided blessings. For cherished memories. And for the love that has crossed our paths. Yes, the sun rises in the east and sets in the west with a mighty, mighty splendor each and every day. Thank you father.

A Love Of Their Own

There was an executive who wanted an entourage of four guys to hang, stay high and drunk with him (the exec) all the time day and night. Daniel,Meesh,Shad and Abadago. They went along with it for a while. Until the exec and his boy started noticing that these young cats were starting to look old and undesirable. Daniel said to the head guy,"hey man can we lay off the drink and start eating some fresh veggies and stuff?" the exec and his boy agreed. They got healthy, started praying and helped clean the rest of the crew up. One night the exec had this weird dream, didn't understand it and was going crazy. He called on everybody to help him understand this dream. Daniel stepped up to the plate, explained the dream. The exec was so happy he mandated that everybody in the company partied all the time and could have all the riches they desired. Daniel,Meesh, Shad and Abadago said uh,uh not this time and stayed in prayer. The Exec got mad and insulted. He threw these guys in a hot, steaming sauna thinking they would die of heat exhaustion. They had pleased God by not going along with the rest, and walked out of the sauna unscathed. This changed the exec for ever. He started praying to God and cleaned up his act as well. God is good all the time. Story taken from the book of Daniel 1-4

To Be All Inclusive

I returned to my home church after being away for a long while yesterday. I could give 1000 reasons why I hadn't been back, none of them good enough. My day before I went to church was filled with prayer and music. I enjoyed one last song before my preparations for church. "This little light of mine". Great song. Just walking into the church I felt this great and wonderful feeling. Like God was personally welcoming me back. Not only did I feel this throughout the sermon,I felt it when the choir sang, and they sang "This little light of mine". I just said, Wow! Thank you Lord for allowing me to be a part of your worship today. On my way out of the sanctuary, I passed two of the guest, who had attended services this day. The gentleman was a fellow pastor of our pastors (and was introduced during service) and his wife who was a local celebrity news anchor. I thought it was her when I passed. I wasn't sure. Her face looked familiar. She stood quietly as her husband greeted others. I turned back and said welcome, she was so kind and said no bother at all. Thank you for having me. Just as we finished shaking hands the church photographer snapped a picture. I assumed she just wanted a picture of the reporter, but she (the photographer) said no,I want you too. Another Wow! God just showed me that he wants me and you to feel all inclusive everyday. Jesus said in Luke 17:21 God’s reign is like a banquet for all people, that the kingdom of God is among you.

My Tears

I have shed tears for my love ones who have gone on. I have cried tears when my emotions hurt. I have cried tears when I felt the spirit move me. What is so genuine about the tears that I have shed is that they come from my heart. There's nothing fake about the place from which they come. When Jesus died on the cross for our sins, I am sure there were many a tear shed. It was truly a sad time. Jesus left a legacy. He let the people know that they were somebody. And that they no matter from where they came, they are Gods children. There was no exclusion policy at all. Yes the tears were shed for his loss. For the fear of going on without him. And some for betrayal. No matter what the tears, they were genuine and precious. Psalms 56:8 You keep track of all my sorrows. God you have collected all my tears in your bottle. You have recorded each one in your book. Thank you Lord for loving me.

The Power Of The Lord Is Here

There are days when you say Lord what will you have me do? I am trying my best. I use this analogy. When I want my roses to grow, I inspect the plant looking for Deadheads These are blooms that have withered and died on the living plant. The Deadheads prevent the rose bush from growing. You have to remove the Deadheads to make the rose bush be it's beautiful best. In life as hard as it may be, we have to remove the Deadheads in order to be our beautiful best. God helps us with anything we call upon him to do. He helps us with discernment. Meaning God will let us go through the lesson being taught. God enables us to chose. He let's us see the meaning of it all. We have to listen. Recognize the signs. You are saying to yourself "How do I know if what I do is right or wrong?" If it is from God you will know it. It is always, always confirmed. You may hear a song that seems to be speaking directly to you. You may be involved with a conversation that seems to be hitting everything you were thinking. Something may appear out of no where that correlates your thinking. Proverbs 2:1-5 My sons & daughters, receive my words and treasure my commandments. Make your ears attentive to wisdom and incline your heart to understanding. If you call out for insight and raise your voice for understanding, if you seek it like silver and search for it as for hidden treasures, then you will understand the Lord and find the knowledge of God.

Stop, Look And Listen

It is true. Stop for a few moments today. Take a pause. Turn off everything. Just for a moment. Look around you. See what surrounds you. Enjoy it. Be glad in it. Listen to your heart. It is okay to have down time. Creative thoughts are revived. Listening gives God a chance to speak to you. Amazingly time, things, and people all are looked upon in such a different light.Psalms 61:2 says God when my heart is overwhelmed please lead to the rock that is higher then I. God wants you to enjoy what he has provided for you. He is not a complicated God. He is a God of life. He is giving, forgiving and merciful always. Take time to STOP,LOOK AND LISTEN.

Staying In Faith Standing Among Them

There are times when God's work brings you to a place that unless you have him(God)with you it would be scary. Yes, when looking around you see the evil. It is very ugly and vile (evil). Or like a lot of things the enemy does, evil can be disguised so well it's hard for some to recognize. Here's the thing. The more you get into God, the more he gets into you. The more you get into God, the more recognizable the enemy is. The more you walk in faith the easier it is to walk among them(evil enemies). You need to arm yourself each and every day with the armor of God. Which include: The Belt of Truth. The Breast Plate of Righteousness. The Sandals of Peace. The Shield of Faith. The Helmet of Salvation. And lastly the Sword of Salvation(the bible). With this armor in place. You have all the protection you need to walk among the lost. Ephesians 6:11-13 Put on the whole armor of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.
Wherefore take unto you the whole armor of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.

I Am So Excited I Want To Share Everything

Have you ever experienced an elated relative for whom you haven't seen in awhile and they you? Oh my goodness it is so fun to watch. They want to show you everything. Their house, their car, their toys. Then you sit down break bread and talk about old times. This is how it is when you have stepped away from God for awhile. You will want to share all that you've experienced since you were away. You want to share old times. This is a wonderful experience and an exciting one. Many think "oh I've been away so long, he has forgotten me" No so not true. God has always been there for you. You just have to remember to call on him. It is very easy to get lost in the storm and think you are all alone. Not true. It is never, ever too late to reach up. God will be there to listen always. Romans 12:2 Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.

Do You Feel Discouraged?

I know for a fact that discouragement is a major distraction on the road to your victory. This can be a time of such heaviness. Your physical body feels drained. Your mental state is perplexed. You have darts and daggers coming at you from all ends. It is enough to make that feeling of discouragement overwhelming. Here's my thought on that. You have to believe that these are test set before you, that make you stronger. These test allow you to see and know your strengths. Most give up and fall short of reaching past this deviation. Some forget that there is help. We are not meant to go at this alone. The opposite of discouragement is encouragement. Grab your study guide. It was written over 2000 years ago. It hasn't changed or failed anyone yet. There are so many peaks and valleys in life. The test seem to never stop. But the glory is yours when you continue to pass. Stay encouraged. Surround yourself when those days of discouragement come with the loving truth. Be it the Bible. Be it true friends and love ones who really care for you. Here is a bit of guidance taken from the book of Nahum 1:7 The Lord is good. He is your strength and stronghold in the day of trouble. He knows, recognizes, and has knowledge of, and understands those who take refuge and trust in Him. Trust God he will not steer you wrong.

God Is In Your Corner

Be still sometime. You will be surprised at what you hear. I can personally note that I hear God's whisper when I am still. Just when I think that I am down for the count. Just when I think there is no other way. Just when I am at my lowest. I hear his voice. I recognize that my faith is the most powerful thing I possess. God makes a way out of no way. God lifts you from your lowest point. God confirms it when the blessing is from him. Yes, all it takes is for us to be still, pray and listen.
Mark 4:24 And he said to them, pay attention to what you hear, with the measure you use. It will be measured to you, and still more will be added to you.

You Are Wonderfully Created In God's Image

It is not boasting or bragging to say to yourself "I love me, and God loves me too"
No one has the right to make you feel any different. When you start comparing yourself to someone else. Or wish you had things that someone else has. Stop throw out the challenge flag. You have to be you. You have to except who you are. There is no doubt when it comes to God's created image. You are like no other. You come with a whole set of unique qualities. Praise and thank God for those qualities. Lift your head up. Keep your head to the sky. Stay encouraged. Those images on television, movies and video's are made up to look more then what they are. Remember no one wakes up with make up, Gucci and mate with roses in his or her hand. All of that stuff is staged and takes more then a minute to get that image perfect to tempt and sway you. Believe in yourself and God. Beauty comes from within. Ecclesiastes 3:11 :He has made everything beautiful in its time, including us

I See You

These are simple but powerful words. Think about it for a moment. How often do you really acknowledge someone? I walked into a retailer the other day and their greeter had the same mono tone "greeting" if you will. He never looked into the eyes of the guest. His voice sounded like a recording. I thought to myself what a shame. What a missed opportunity. When you see someone it gives that person value. They feel that you truly do see them. That is what God does . He sees you. He acknowledges you. He values you. Take the time to do so with others. Do not take your fellow man for granted. Treat your neighbors as if you see them. Acknowledge that grocery clerk. Thank the wait staff for great service. God sees you. Proverbs 3:6 says In all your ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct your paths.

You Have To Want To

There is an internal drive that everyone is equipped with, God gave us all this. It is when and where one uses it that is important. Or not. In nature for example the Dodo bird was equipped with everything needed to fly and it did fly, but once the bird landed on an island where they flourished and had no natural enemies. Flight wasn't necessary. Over time the species adapted to not flying. They did not want to. In life if we do not chose to lift ourselves out of the mire, if we do not have the drive to do so. We have to call on God. He is the only source that can help with this internal struggle. It begins with the desire to help oneself. No one can do this for you. Psalms 69:14 Rescue me from the mud; don't let me sink any deeper! Save me from those who hate me, and pull me from these deep waters. Ask God for guidance, strength and mercy. He will help. Stay in faith.

What Would You Do?

It had to have been extremely tough for the disciples when Jesus died. Imagine having spent the majority of your adult life watching, learning and being shown the most intimate workings of what it takes to be close to God. Imagine working, sleeping and eating with the greatest teacher that you have ever known. How would you react to being told that Matthew 26:30 today yes, tonight before the rooster crows twice you yourself (speaking directly to Peter one of the disciples) will disown me three times? You would think to yourself, I would never do such a thing. Soon after dinner Jesus told one of his disciples go ahead to town and do what you have to do. Long story short, this was the beginning of the end for Jesus. In the early morning hours the Romans came for him. And all of what Jesus said, came to pass. They(the disciples) were so scared they did deny knowing Jesus. What would you have done? Once they made that decision they must have felt a guilt out of this world. But Jesus came to them all in a dream and said I forgive you, God forgives you. Go out and teach the world what I have taught you. May God continue to bless you all. The disciples did just that. Some caught total hell doing so but they were on point and were redeemed for their works. You can do the same. God is a forgiving God he will show mercy, just ask. Stay faithful. And understand that we are human and we do fall short. God understands.

How Your Hidden Treasure Shall Be Sought After

When I speak of hidden treasure, I am not speaking of the gold & silver of this world. I am not speaking of diamonds and pearls. No I am speaking of that God spirit, your soul. You see it is the inside that makes you so attractive to other Godly people as well as the Enemy. The treasure that you keep isn't hidden, no just the opposite. The treasure that you possess is one that can be passed on if there are takers. God's spirit loves to be seen. So shine your light. Stay in the word. Know who and what the adversary is capable of. Let the word of God guide you.1Thessalonians 5:11 Therefore be of encouragement to one another. Do this so by edifying your fellow man. Strengthen and build up, one another just as you are doing.

Yes,The Lord Is Merciful

Some of us doubt on a consistent basis. And yes, this can be considered human nature, but if you have strength in your conviction. If you have faith in your heart doubt goes away. God shows you in so many ways this is all you have to do (have faith). But God also understands and is patient. God allows us to fall sometime. Just know that he is a merciful God. And he will never leave you or forsake you. That life is full of lessons to be learned. Learn them, take a negative and make it positive. When those doubts creep in just know it's the enemy. All the enemy needs is a sliver of a sliver of anything that can used against you. Do not let the enemy come through you. Isaiah 54:17 No weapon that is formed against you shall prosper. Every tongue that shall rise against you in judgment God will condemn. This is your right in that you serve the LORD, and you are right by me and through me says the Lord. Amen

Come And See The Works Of God He Is Awesome

These words come straight out of Psalms 66:5. Can you wrap your mind around those words? Some of us can and some will never get it. But those of us who have been through the fire. Those of us who have been through the water and nearly drowned, knows that we did not do any of it alone. God's works are there in abundance, and all he ask for is for us to acknowledge this. To have faith when that's all there to have. When things seem to be at it's worst, give of yourself unconditionally. None of which is costly in earthly terms. I heard a question sometime back, from a young man. He said "Grandpa have you ever felt the spirit?"Grandpa who had been going to church all of his life said, "No I can't say that I have". And the young man goes on to say, I have and I remember exactly when and where. And proceeds to tell his grandpa his experience. I found this so amazing. When you are of the spirit you will know it. If you have not found God's works continue to pray. James 1:5 says,If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask God, who gives generously to all without reproach, and it will be given him.

What Is Locked Inside?

Let's face it, we all do not think alike. We do not look alike. Nor do we act alike. We are all wired differently. There was a little boy lost in the cold, hostile woods for the last five days. He had nothing to eat. He had nothing to keep him warm. The experts said that it was highly unlikely that he would have survived another cold, dark night in the woods. The little boy was found yesterday. To the relief of many. This little boy was wired differently. Because of his condition( Being Autistic)the experts say he may not have been frightened of his aloneness. They say that his pain and sensitivity threshold was so that he wasn't aware of the cold and did not feel how the brush and woods had scraped and scratched him. His parents say he does not talk or communicate with anyone. This made it extra difficult to find him over the last few days. The Lord looks at each and every one of us individually. Some get God right away. Some do not. We cannot judge one way or another on how one accepts God. Each person has his or her own way and time.2 Corinthians 12:12 The signs of a true apostle were performed among you with utmost patience, with signs and wonders and mighty works.

Who Explains and How is it Explained?

In the book of Isaiah chapter 28:1-15 The Lord makes an observation. He says okay after you all have partied and drank and drugged yourselves to the point of sickness. Now what? Who among you will understand what this world is really about? Who among you will understand the knowledge that I have for you? For percept must be upon percept. Line upon line. Here a little there a little. In other words you who keep falling will only get it a little at a time maybe. Most will be lost and the explanations of Gods word will fall on deaf ears. My point here is that we as man, need to really wake up and see the signs along the way. Stay up on the word of God. There is so many wonderful stories in the Bible that are relevant to today's times.

The Generous Soul Will Be Made Rich

Proverbs 11:25 states just that. A generous soul will be made rich. And he who waters will be watered himself. It is all about giving unconditionally. And giving does not necessarily mean of monetary value. I cannot stress that enough. I was in Bible study the other day and the discussion derived from the reading of first Corinthians chapter 5 where Paul is addressing the church on the value of right and wrong, and of men and women behaving immorally. The dynamic and what was interesting to see was witnessing of the givers, in our discussions. The witnessing of the takers. And the witnessing of the ones sitting on the sideline scared to give or take. The moral to this experience is: there can be an abundant amount of giving in just conversing with someone. Share a piece of yourself today. Do not sit on the sidelines. Be a giver you may be surprised at how good it feels and most of all that giving will get passed on. Amen

Teach Me Your Way O Lord

Psalms 27:8-9 says, when you said seek my face Lord, my heart said to your face Lord I will seek. Verse 14 of that same Psalm says, wait on the Lord, be of good courage, and he shall strengthen your heart. These words are words of great wisdom. David was a man just like you and I. He stumbled. He did some crazy things. His sons did some crazy things. People loved him. Some hated him. Through all of his trials and tribulations he had a rock and he never forgot that rock. Through some of his writings you may see that he thinks at times that his rock has forgotten him but as you read on the rock (the Lord) never forsake or left him. Remember that. God is always there for you. Just be still and call on him.Amen

Recognize!!!!Words of Wisdom

Today was an AWESOME DAY!!! We are rolling according to GOD's plan. Thank GOD for the word and how it advises you on what to expect and how to deal with distractions and the unholy, you must stay in constant prayer and faith. Recognize what is going on and realize that it is not about who or what is trying to stop you, but rather why? When you become in tune with your purpose in life, the other dude is not happy and will do anything to distract you, break your spirit, or suggest doubt because he knows something special is about to go down. We must turn internal, become quiet, pray, meditate and get back to work. I am too busy to see what the enemy is doing, from what I heard he is busy trying to figure out a new recipe for my dust. Lets GO! These are words written and testified to by my son. I just had to post this mothers prayer today to show you what mothers prayers do and that the result is amazing to see. Amen

The Truth (Proverbs)

The book of Proverbs in the Bible is a chapter dedicated to the telling of truths. Lessons learned. Practical perception. Guidance. In our lives the truth can hurt. The truth can be liberating. The truth be told is a learning tool. How often has the TRUTH effected you? It can be a hard pill to swallow at times, especially when you must look inside and deal with and accept the truth about yourself. When you humble yourself before God. When you say to yourself, yes this is who I am, good, bad, weak,or strong. This is me. Do I chose to change for the better? Do I stay the same and accept me for me? There are many questions that arise, when it comes to truth."The truth shall set you free". I can testify to that. Our bodies are designed with an immune system that wards off bad things which can enter and make us sick. God's word is our immune system in particular the verses and sayings in the book of Proverbs, truth for our souls. Proverbs 1:5 Let the wise listen to these proverbs and become even wiser. Let those with understanding receive guidance.Amen

The Well

There is a story in the Bible about an incident surrounding a towns well, very interesting story. So Jesus comes to this well after a long walk and ask the lady standing next to it to please give him some water. She looked around and said out of curiosity. Are you asking me, to get you some water? Nobody talks to me in this town, they(the towns people)think I'm a Huzzy. Why are you talking to me?Jesus said ,if the shoe were on the other foot, and you asked me for a drink, I would offer you a drink of living water. She looks at Jesus, and says what are you talking about, living water? Wells are deep and you don't have a utensil to pull the water up. She still thinking he's talking about a physical well.Jesus said, who ever drinks regular water, stays thirsty. Who ever drinks the water that I give them will never be thirsty. The living water (the living word & life's lessons) is all you need. She said, you must be somebody pretty special to say that. I'd like some of that water. Then she said,I had heard that there's a special person coming to save us sinners some day. Jesus said to her, I am he. In life people can be too quick to judge. Too apt to close off listening to others. Try not to do this. Blessings are blocked everyday by doing so. Ephesians 2:8 For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God,

Order My Steps In Your Word

Today I must express the words of a song on my heart today. And I will preface this by saying. We often have to feel that humbleness to know what's next. We have to feel that humility in order to know that we are not in control. God is. Those of us who think we are irreproachable, need to know this. Yes we pray everyday. Yes, we may go to church. Yes, we may offer our advise. And yes we may consider ourselves doing the right thing. We get God points for that. But it takes a complete break down of that false sense of "I'm good" to really, and I mean really know who we are, and what God really has in store for us. David in the bible knew he was chosen and blessed. He won battle after battle physically and spiritually all the time. If you follow his bio in the Bible you see that he is broken down, and humbled with much humility time after time. God kept reminding David it was he(God) who ordered his steps. So know that God sees all. He (God) is in charge. And after being humbled ask the Lord to "Order your steps in his word" Lead you guide you everyday. Teach me your will. While you are working let me be still. Amen

My First Leap Of Faith

I can remember this day so vividly, like it was yesterday. I was about ten years old and my sister was about eight. Somewhere and at sometime, my mom and dad thought that it would be a good idea for us girls to learn to swim. Mind you this was during the nineteen sixties. In Europe. At an indoor pool where the Europeans trained for competitions, perhaps major sporting events. A mind of a ten year old could only imagine. I admire my dad in taking on this task. So we (my sister & I) were there at the edge of the pool shivering both out of fear and it was a chilly standing near that body of cool chlorinated water. Since I was the oldest I was "chosen" first to JUMP in.But before I did my dad did it a couple times to build up our confidence. I was shaking like a wet noodle, and all I can hear is my dad's voice saying "common you can do it, don't worry I got you" After all, that was my dad and he would never ever let any harm come to us. I jumped. The rest is history. In life today you may have to take that leap of faith. Know and have faith that the Lord has got you. Isaiah 43:2 When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and when you pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned; the flames will not set you ablaze.

It May Be Tough But We Have To Face The Hard Stuff

Many times some of us go through life saying to ourselves Lord why me? I am doing everything I can and everything I know how to do to make things right. Are we? I have on so many occasion chose not to face the really hard parts of life. Especially when God wasn't in my life as he is today. Most of us over compensate somewhere else rather then facing the real issue. It is one of the hardest things to do. You may think it is a weakness on your behalf. You may blame others. You may dive into work and bury yourself so deep you have no choice not to face it. There are all kinds of ways not to face the hard stuff. I have found the easiest way to confront this difficult almost elusive time, is to admit there is a difficulty you cannot handle. There is nothing wrong with humbleness and humility. Next just ask God for help. He sees it all. Even the hard stuff we often times hide deep. Psalms 71:1-3 In You, O Lord, I put my trust. Let me never be put to shame. Deliver me in Your righteousness, and cause me to escape. Incline Your ear to me, and save me. Be my strong refuge, to which I may resort continually. You have given the commandment to save me, For You are my rock and my fortress. Amen

Great And Marvelous Are Your Works

In the book of Revelations John ( who was a disciple) has many dreams. The dreams are written in this last book of the Bible. Remember that the Bible was put together by monks and bishops four hundred and twenty five years after Jesus died. The content was placed in order by virtue of these men. There were some writings left out of the Bible, which were considered too controversial. The book of Revelations allows one to read and try to grasp the meaning of these, John's dreams. Most conclude this book shows us the end of the world as we know it. My take on this is, we can only hope for the best. And that the end is not as bad as it is betrayed to be. However,we should live our lives in the way we want to be remembered. Treat each day as if it were your last, staying most positive in all that you do. Make your daily deeds great ones. Love your fellow man. And Thank God For Your Each And Everyday.

What Should I Wear?

How often have you asked yourself that question? I can envision my younger days when that was the most important thing on my mind. If I were to go out on the weekend, I had to wear something that was attractive preferably something that I hadn't worn before. Eye catching. Alluring. My hair had to be just right. I had to smell great. These things remain important today with this difference. Today I dress from the inside. I make my self attractive from within. This is where we should all come from. Let the person you greet see that smile first. Let that body language exude the God in you. It doesn't matter if you have a Gucci downed exterior, it's what's on the inside that counts. It's how you look when all of that is taken off. The answer to "what should I wear?" should be the true you. Make it the great you. Make it the wonderful you. Dress the inside first and foremost. 1 Peter 3:3-4 Do not let your adorning be external, the braiding of hair and the putting on of gold jewelry, or the clothing you wear, but let your adorning be the hidden person of the heart with the imperishable beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which in God's sight is very precious.

Sit At My Right Hand Till I Make Your Enemies Your Footstool

These words may seem a bit harsh when you first read them. This scripture can be found in the New Testament in the book of Mark Chapter Twelve verse thirty five. What this verse is telling us is that as long as you have God by your side you don't have to fight or battle your enemies. Remember the enemies are being used by the devil and his gang. And the person being used to fight the devils battle has no idea that this is so. God wants you to rise above this. Think bigger. Know that he (God)has got you. Take note though back in the day, Jesus went up against a mighty resistance. He spoke against the Jewish church. He spoke against the Roman army. He spoke against evil men and women. He was not a church mouse. What he did do was empower the people to see for themselves the wrong and evil that was being done. He taught that the battle between good and evil is not yours alone. You have help and help comes in a big way. Remember this the next time. Recognize with whom your battle may be with. Call on the Lord, and sit at his right hand until he (God) makes your enemies your footstool.Amen!

After The Battle What Shall I Do?

Spiritual warfare can be so taxing on the mind, body, and soul. Reaction to the negativity, be it subtle or out right blatant it's hell. The God in you seems to be drained away. You are just weary. Your body needs rest. Your mind seeks peace. Here's what you do. Isaiah 15:1 In your return from battle just rest, and you will be saved. In quietness and confidence shall be your strength. And remember have faith. The battle is not yours it's the Lords!

Stay In Faith

I'm going to tell a story from the bible. But I am going to put an updated spin on it. There was once this guy who you could say lived pretty good. He had an awesome house. Some nice cars. Cool family & friends. Every where that he went, he got his props. Had stocks & bonds. Owned a professional ball team. Went to a mega church. He believed in God and that if it weren't for God he would not have all that he had. Things started going awry after he came down with an illness he could not shake. I mean dude got real sick. So sick that he had to stay in the bed. He could not get any work done. His boys started stealing from him. He lost his ball team. He went into debt trying to find doctors and medicine to cure him. Wifey started dipping and telling her husband "maybe you ought to just end it (his life). Kids went crazy. All the while he kept asking God to please fix this. After some suffering and losing dang near everything. I mean even some from the church came to visit they would say "man if I was you, I'd just give up". He said to all of them that he would never ever lose his faith in God. God heard this and brought the man back to his glory days with more than he had before. The man never lost faith. Amen Story taken from the book of JOB the 18th chapter in the Old Testament.

There's So Much To Choose From

Have you ever been to a bring your own dish office party? There will be lot's of them coming up during the holiday season. So, you're there in front of the nicely laid out food table and you're scanning the food selections. You think to yourself"boy there is so much to choose from". You begin to sample. Deep in your mind, you remember that so and so made some delicious green beans last year. You remember asking for the recipe. You scanned the items once again until you found those green beans. You knew how much of a treat those green beans would be. It can be this way in life. You have so much to choose from. You sample here and there along the way. But the most fulfilling part in life comes when you remember that recipe. Love yourself, Love God and Love and give to others unconditionally. This is a recipe that can be passed on. 1 John 4:16 And so we know and rely on the love God has for us. God is love. Whoever lives in love lives in God, and God in him.

Sometimes There Seems To Be Doubt

That's all the enemy needs is a small miniscule grain of doubt. You see I know first hand, that it is scary to step out on faith. The more you do it(stepping out on faith) the less scary it is. In the bible Jesus' disciples seemed to doubt on so many occasions. They (Jesus & disciples) were out one nice day just kicking it on the fishing boat. Jesus was so relaxed he drifted off to sleep. The guys were fishing, when all of a sudden the wind came up.The boat started rocking and rolling. The guys started panicking. Can you imagine this scene. Peter trying to hold onto the boat. Simon looking like the world was coming to an end. And then it happened, Jesus woke up looked around at these guys, put his hand up and said "be still". The wind subsided, the sky regained it's brightness and Jesus just shook his head at the guys and said "You have so little faith, do you think I would have let any harm come to you? Jesus said, you have to stop with the doubt guys, if you can just trust, have faith and believe that all things are possible through me, you would be so much better off. We need to do the same. Amen?

Stay Encouraged

Oh yes, things at times seem go from bad to worse, in the blink of an eye. Or so it may seem. I am sure that each and everyone of us, can tell a horror story or two. What is taken from that horror story is the blessing. It's what you encounter, what you endure, what you can testify to, that means so much. It may seem like an impossible situation. And yes, we may cry tears that night. But joy comes in the morning. Let those burdens go. Those days when you say to yourself "Oh my God what am I going to do?"God hears you. Have faith. It's like the little train trying to make it up the hill. The train kept saying "Lord I know I can make it, I know I can make it" And the train made it. You can too. Isaiah 40:31 they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint. Amen

To See Clearly

Many of us go through life wondering what it is that we should be doing. Should I follow the crowd? Should I base my life on this society? Should I be driving a BMW or a Kia? What's in it (life) for me? All of these questions are questions dealing with the outer self.(Ego) It is the inner self that we need to deal with. What should be felt inside is comfort. The loving of self. The loving of others. The loving of the most high. These inner core feelings make us who we are. Material things do not. Our essence is made up of 95% water. 5% mass. We need to feed our bodies with food & water to survive. We also need to feed our souls. Some say our souls weighs a mere 20 grams. I cannot say one way or another. I can say this I have seen more clearly every day that I pray and humble myself before my God. Psalms 55:17 Morning, noon, and night I cry out in my distress, and the LORD hears my voice.

Can You Imagine If God Let You In On His Plan For You?

Just imagine how many of us would want to change, delete, add something to the plan that God has for us. As if we knew what is best for us or someone else. In my opinion it would be a disaster. That is why Gods plan is not revealed to us all at once. It is best done a little at a time. There are some that question "why me" ? You see the key is to know that there is a rhyme and reason for all that happens. And believe me there are some things that are really bad, sad and very hard to deal with. It is not easy when a loved one is sick and dying. It is not easy when someone close is killed. These are tremendous tragedies. I cannot tell you how to deal with something of that nature. What I can tell you is believing that God gets you through anything. When life changes are before you, it is hard to see the big picture. Just know there is one (a big picture). Pray and love your loved ones here and now. Be kind to your neighbor here and now. Treat yourself with respect here and now. Tomorrow is never promised and only God knows the plan. Do not stay in a bad place in your life. Move on. Psalm 34:18 The LORD is near to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit. 2 Corinthians 4:8 We are hard pressed on every side, but not crushed; perplexed, but not in despair.

His Story Repeats Itself Over & Over Again

If you read Jeremiah 22:13-17 you would wonder if the Lord was speaking about the protest, the treatment of the hard working men & women in today's hard times. The backs that have been broken to make the rich the rich. Here are the verses, tell me what you think. God says: Woe to him who builds his palace by unrighteousness, his upper rooms by injustice, making his countrymen work for nothing, not paying them for their labor. He says, 'I will build myself a great palace with spacious upper rooms.' So he makes large windows in it, panels it with cedar and decorates it in red. Does it make you a King to have more and more cedar? Did not your father have food and drink? He did what was right and just, so all went well with him. He defended the cause of the poor and needy, and so all went well. Is that not what it means to know me? declares the LORD. But your eyes and your heart are set only on dishonest gain, on shedding innocent blood and on oppression and extortion."

The Value Of Wisdom

Proverbs 2:6-11
For the LORD gives wisdom;
From his mouth comes knowledge and understanding;
He stores up sound wisdom for the upright
He is a shield to those who walk uprightly
He guards the paths of justice,
And preserves the way of his saints.
Then you will understand righteousness and justice,
Equity and every good path.
When wisdom enters your heart,
And knowledge is pleasant to your soul,
Discretion will preserve you. Amen
