Dual Survival:Faith in Self & God

I find myself often times regressing, I call it my "whoas me syndrome". I tend to get depressed,(yes I said it, depressed). I get "evil"and snap at people. Yes, I do experience these things as I am sure many of you have. Here is the difference: when I notice this, I quickly grab my self defeat and I run to the nearest empty, quiet room. I drop to my knees and I say "God forgive me". Help me to rise above this. I pray this prayer, Psalms 125:1 I trust in you lord and as the mountain at Mt. Zion, which cannot be removed. So is my trust in you.So is my faith in you God along with faith in myself. That Lord with your help, I continue this dual survival. Me, You and faith. I shall send out peace and understanding from my heart. Amen

The Distress Call or A Cry From Babylon

One of the reasons I collect lighthouses is because lighthouses represent that steadfast beacon of light that guides you to safety when the seas are rough. Imagine awaking from you sleep with a phone call. A friend in need of help. A child home alone scared. A mother or father worried about their adult child away from home. There are many distress calls placed everyday. The Bible makes reference to the city of Babylon many times. This was indeed a factual city. However in todays terms Babylon is symbolic of nations gone astray. By [her] spiritistic practice all the nations were misled." (Revelation 18:23) By her false teaching that the soul does not die, false religion has opened the door to every kind of spiritism and sorcery and has promoted fear of the dead and worship of ancestors. I am enlightened here to become that steadfast beacon in Babylon. With Gods help and guidance. Giving God the glory everyday. If I can be of help to anyone I am here. Can you today be a Lighthouse to someone? Is there a distress call from someone you know? Is there a cry from Babylon? Pray this prayer for strength and guidance to be there for someone in need.Proverbs 11:14 Lord let me be where there is no guidance and the people fall. With your help I can show abundance of counsel and there will be victory. Amen

Do Not Give Power To The Negative

One of my "mantras" is, I will not feed into, nor will I speak power into negativeness. This takes discipline. And yes I am human:I do fall down but I get up. Back in the day there was a black general from north africa who was told that he could not win a war with the Romans on their turf. That it was impossible to cross through the mountains in the dead of winter."Yeah Right"said Hannibal. No, was not an option to this brilliant general. He assembled his army, explained his strategy and kept it moving with out any doubt. Hannibal used elephants to cross the mountains, something the enemy had never heard of. It had never been done before. He totally surprised his men and the enemy. He won that battle because he had no doubt. He did not pay attention to negativity. We must think this way when it comes to our daily lives. Nothing is impossible. You can achieve anything you want to achieve. Dream your Dream. Execute your Dream. Live your Dream. Ask God for your Dream. Pray this prayer when doubt or negativity presents itself.Mark 11:22-24 Lord help me to believe your word when you say; What things that I desire, when I pray I believe that I will receive them, and I shall have them. I say this with conviction and belief in my heart O Lord my God.
*Mantra: prayer repeated in a quiet voice.

A Story Of Faith To The Tenth Power

You know back in the day, specifically the day in which God spoke directly to the people. This would be the old testament of the bible. I am all inspired today by the book of JOB,pronounced(Jobe). I am going to diversify here and use a bit of modern terminology,if you will, so bear with me a little.

On this day we find life good for a man named Job, he had a large family, nice house. He had a lot of livestock, land as far as your eyes could see. He felt great, successful by the days standards. "What more could a man ask for?" He did all the right things including believing in God.

God was proud of Job and had faith in him, so much so that he placed a "bet " with "that cat" the devil. Let me tell you how it went down. God and his boys(angels) were just kickin' it when they were approached by Bro' Diablo, They are all looking down from the heavens at everybody smiling and very satisfied that the chosen were provided for, and had plenty of confidence in the believers. Well Bro' Diablo says to God, " I bet that dude down there, what's his name ? " Oh yeah Job" I will bet God, if I throw a couple tragedies his way, he would renounce your name. He would lose complete faith in you". God said, " No man get on with it, Job is my man, he wouldn't do that." Satan left that day smirking to himself. Next day God and his boys were kickin' it again. Here comes Bro Diablo with his game face on, and says to God " Man I know he would denounce you, what you afraid? God said listen Diablo you go on and try, the only rule is you cannot kill him. It was on and crackin' then. Jobs world started falling apart. Sheep caught on fire in the field, Some crazy people wielding swords killed all the cattle. Job is stricken by nasty, painful boils all over his body. He gets real sick. He looses everything within a matter of months, including his family. He never through all of this lost faith in God . And in the end after all of the awful things Diablo did to Job his faith in God made God so proud. God praised Job and gave him far more then he had lost. God told Diablo this man never lost his faith. That sent Diablo scurrying to the darkness from whence he came. Do you feel this way sometime? Yes life can be difficult, but faith in God is our strength. He is by our sides. Lift his glorious name no matter how hard it gets. Stay Faithful.

Utilize Your Resources

I am all inspired to utilize my resources today and everyday. I may not have much, but what I do I have I will give unconditionally. One day a large crowd had gathered to hear Jesus speak. He like any other host, needed to feed his guest. His "crew" seemed to be in total disarray, "Jesus where are we going to get enough to feed so many?"Sidebar here: The Crew represents his Disciples and they were always asking how? Jesus constantly questioned them as well,"Come on ya'll, where is your faith?" "Don't you know who I am?" Once again Jesus utilized his resources. Matt 14:13-21. He took five loaves, two fish, and made it into 5000 loaves and 5000 fish, which was enough to feed the crowd.Jesus looking up toward heaven, blessed the food, and kept it moving. He not only fed with physical food he fed the crowd with spiritual food as well. You may not have all that you want. But you have life, you have breath in your body. Put yourselves in another person’s shoes and see things from their perspective. You may have some good advice that could save them a lot of heartache and pain. Don’t keep it to yourself. A smile, hold a door open.A compliment. This is utilization of your resources. When you go out today pray this prayer Psalms 75:1 Unto you God I give thanks: it is in your name that I have what I have and I can give what I give. Amen

Can You Imagine The Pain?

I have such empathy for those in pain. I want to clarify that a bit. There is physical pain which can be self inflicted or physical pain from an illness,or physical pain that someone else inflicts on you. There is also the pain that is felt inside. Your spirit can be fractured. Your heart can be broken. You are petrified, you have no will to do anything. Yes, I have empathy for those in pain. God back in the old days before Jesus came, spoke to men directly. God always looked out for man. He provided all of mans needs. All he asked in return was to have faith in him. Obey the laws written to protect man from himself. But did man do this? The answer is, man was always tempted with unsavory things. God felt so much pain behind this. He got angry. Tried teaching man lessons. There were fires, floods, death, destruction. God was so disappointed. He finally decided that a SAVIOR in the form of man would come, teach the people how they should act. Show them miracles. Heal the sick. In the end Jesus suffered pain both physically and spiritually. He died saving our souls. When faced with pain greater then you can bear, call on the lord. Psalms 18:6 Lord please In my distress I call to you; I cry to my God for help. From his temple he heard my voice; my cry came before him, into his ears. Pick yourself up. God will do the rest.

I Am Not Finished Yet

Whoa! I laid my head down some where around mid-night. Wow! I find myself up at 4:17A.M. with Gods word on my heart. This is a special and symbolic day for many Christians. Over three thousand years ago, the man God sent to this earth to teach and save mankind died and rose(1Cor15:1-58).It was his life for ours. But Jesus said, I am not finished yet. He came back in spirit. He still had more to say. You know I speak with my sons almost everyday. I live on the East coast and they and their families on the West coast. We have this connection. There will be times when I pick up the phone to call and they will say, "Mom I was just about to call you, you must have ESP" No, it is a spiritual connection. Inner voice. We often times subdue that inner voice. I do not. My inner voice is God driven. Same strong feeling Jesus had to continue teaching. Imagine this conversation, "Father I still had more to say, I am not finished yet". "I did not tell Peter how & where to continue spreading the word." " Dang I should have told my mom and my brothers I loved them again". Jesus was given that chance again by rising this Easter Morning. He was able to spend a spirit filled forty days finishing what he started. I say this prayer today in celebration of spirit. Of following that inner voice; John 16:13 God when you come please come in the spirit of truth. And please guide me into all truth so that I may hear your inner voice and follow it with joy. I know you are not finished with your word yet! Amen.

Aren't I on Gods GPU? Or Is This A Reversal Of Fortune?

Sometimes we have to listen to that inner voice. Pay attention to the signs. Don't force the issue. I have been trying to get to the West Coast to see my boys for the last month. I have been faced with some challenges. I could have reacted to these "reversals of fortune" in a way that forces the events to be different. Took over and did things my way. Or I could have questioned God,"aren't I on your GPU"? If I were 20 years younger, not knowing God like I know him now, would have done some really silly things by now. Heres the point. I know and I know with FAITH that there's a reason and I do not ask why. I ask why not? And my answer is God got this. He would never leave me or forsake me. Heck tornados have been touching down with three funnel clouds at a time. Gas prices have sky rocketed. Fires, Storms, Financial Institutes cheating people out of their life long dreams. The only job openings bring in an income at poverty level. Earthquakes, Tsunamis. Nuclear plants imploding. Doctors making mistakes. War. No I am not questioning anything at this point. I am praying this prayer,Isaiah 40:31 Lord I am waiting on you to renew my strength; that I will mount up with wings as an eagle, that I will run, and not be weary; and that I will walk, and not be faint. Lord I have nothing but everlasting faith in you. Gods time is not our time. God I know with conviction, you have me. No Doubt!

Gods Time Is Like No Other

We often wonder okay, I have prayed, I have read my bible, I'm going to church. I am doing all things that a Christian should do. How come the Lord hasn't given me what I have asked for? And of course we believe that all things asked for should be placed at our feet instantaneously. God created the heavens and the earth, and all things on it including man in seven days. If you think about that, it must have been some powerful stuff going on when this took place. God is powerful and with prayer he can move mountains literally and figuratively. God ask one thing of us, and that is to believe in him. Show that our love for him is unconditional. We shall not use his love for us and ours for him as a bargaining chip. "Well God you said you would do this for me if I did that for you" No it does not work that way. When we get to those forks in the road, where we question, where are you now God? Pray this prayer. Isiah 43:2 Lord God I know you said when I pass through the waters, I will be with you, and that through the rivers they shall not over flow me. And when I walk through fire I shall not get burned. Neither shall the flame stay upon me. For you are the Lord my God. This prayer shows God that you have faith in him. Remember God has got you. His time is not our time. But his time is the right time.

Be Wary Of The Mine Fields

My Gosh!, look around you. There is such strife. The "News" spews death and deception. Sometime in our own homes so very close to our being, "Diablo" takes shapes and forms so foreign to us, we look in amazement. Just know this, and this goes out to the God knowing people. The closer you get to where God is leading you, the more mind fields are rigged for you. Your path is reachable and God has faith in you. You MUST stay in faith with God. No matter what it looks like. Stay Fast. Pray, "Get thee behind me Satan, Jesus is my Saviour". Satan you have no power on this earth. My God is my God and I have faith in him!Ephesians:2:6-8 God has raised us up together with Christ for by his works we are saved.. That in the ages to come, God will show the exceeding riches of his grace in his kindness toward us through Christ Jesus. For by grace we are saved through faith and not of ourselves it is the gift of God.

Paint A Pretty Smile Each Day

Put a smile on your face everyday. A smile works muscles in your face that keep you looking young. A smile on your face makes you approachable. A smile on your face shows others that you care. A smile on your face will bring a smile back to you. While you are driving to work today or working out at the gym, practice smiling. You will be amazed at the result. A smile lifts you and everyone around you up. "Paint a pretty smile each day, cause loving is a blessing." Never let it fade away, it's all about love" Lyrics from EWF. When you feel low and you do not want to smile on the outside. Begin by smiling from the inside with this prayer, Psalms 17:7-8 Lord show me your wonderful loving kindness, for you have saved me with your right hand. I put my trust in you to keep me from those that rise up against me. Lord keep me as the apple of your eye. Keep me under the shadow of your wing. Lord Teach me to smile from within.

Am I Open?

If you look at our bodies, you'll notice that three of five openings are located on your head. God has designed these entrances, mouth, ears, nose to taste, hear, and smell great things. These three entrances are also equip with built in filter systems to protect our bodies from harm. And what those filters miss, our internal organs will super filter and be released as waste. This is the physical. When we truly trust and believe in God,he is our spiritual filter. Calling on God keeps our spirit from things that can harm us. The next time you come to a fork in your road. The next time a decision has to be made. The next time you feel uncomfortable. Just bring out your filter (God's Word) and pray from Psalms 143:8, Let the morning bring me word of your unfailing love, for I have put my trust in you. Show me the way I should go, for to you I lift up my soul.

Do You Read From The Same Book Everyday?

Do I read from the same book everyday? The answer is, and this is from a line in one of my favorite movies, "Without a Doubt". I have found being grounded is so much more comforting then being in confusion. To come in safely to "Home Plate" is a relief. That is what the Bible does for me everyday. At first it seemed a bit confusing, a little intimidating. I started in the very back, in the Concordance, which means an alphabetical list of words usually with citations of the passages concerned. A word reference. Pick up your Bible start reading. You will feel grounded in word. I am going to ask that you "Walk by Faith Not By Sight"2 Corinthians 5:7 And that you do for others more then you do for yourselves. Have a blessed day.

Detox?Huh?

Often times our life gets so hectic we tend to forget what really matters. Until something happens to make us snap back, "yes I should have hugged my child before he or she went to school" or "I could have left his books on the coffee table" or "I really should have told her she looked nice before she went to work and that I love her" When these things are an after thought, we need a Detox. We need to remove those toxins that push through to our souls. We should strive to increase and renew. We should make an effort to unlock that everyday routine. No Tomorrow is never promised. Ephesians 3:16-17 Lord grant that I live according to the riches of your glory, that I be strengthened with the might of your spirit. Allow Christ to dwell in my heart by faith and that I be rooted and grounded in love.

Just Give God A Shout Out

I have to post, what I thought was a very good piece of advise from a blessed friend, you may find this helpful, with the weekend coming to an end. "Have You Ever acknowledged and told JAH / GOD that You LOVE HIM / HER...and meant it?" "If not Try it...it is Miraculous!"

A Powerful Quote From
Mr. Andre' Fontenot

Gale Winds Forecasted

Today a heaviness weighs on my heart. A mother of 4 drove her van into the cold dark waters, killing all but one. It was said, that she had a change of mind at the last minute. This was told to the news by her 10 year old who rolled the window down as the van was descending in the water and swam to safety. My what a brave soul. What a soul to pray for. To have seen all that he has seen in his young life. The gale winds in our lives are strong sometime. There is no forecast for the pain and strain from outside circumstances. There is prayer, and sometime it's prayer for others that is needed. Pray this prayer when you see others suffering. Proverbs 4:21-23 Lord let them not depart from your eyes keep them in the midst of your heart. For they are life unto those that find them and health to all their flesh. Keep thy heart with all diligence for out of it are the issues of life.

When I Look Into The Mirror What Do I See?

When I look into the mirror I see my hair which is mine and it is a reflection of pride. I see my skin which is beautiful because I am proud to be in the skin I am in. I see my eyes which are the windows to my soul. I look at my body and say it's the best it can be. It has not always been this way. When I was a young mom and wife, I did not look into the mirror much. I was consumed with the" how am I going to" Flu. I felt sadness, worthlessness. But I looked at my boys and said to myself, I have to get my self worth back for them. I have to fill in those empty holes and make this about them, not me. Because in the end I will see the reflection through them that is me. Pray this prayer when you get that feeling of sadness, self doubt, unworthiness Psalms 16:11 Lord show me the path of life in your presence and fill it with joy;at your right hand there are pleasures for evermore.

Take A Walk In My Shoes

Have you ever wondered, why is he or she so abrasive? Why did that guy cut me off? Why is the bully at school pouncing on my child? We had a neighbor who's little girl would come over and play with my little niece. Most times the playing session would end in a fight between the girls. We would always send her home and wonder to ourselves, why is she so angry? We found out later that her father and grandfather were abusing her and her siblings. And the little girl was taking it out on my niece. Consider their cause. This by no means, condones their behavior but pray this prayer, Proverbs 22:23 Lord please, plead for their cause, and spoil the soul of those that spoiled them. Proverbs 22:10 Cast out the scorner and contention shall go out. Strife and reproach shall cease.

I Am Doing The Best I Can

Lord I am doing the best I can but my, money is low, my gas tank is on E. My husband or wife is cheating on me. Someone broke in my house. My mother or father was just told they have cancer. I am being abused. My child is acting up. My coworkers just don't know, I feel like telling them something. When you face these challenges, and you awake with breath in your body, Pray this prayer of salvation, Psalms 61:1-2, Lord hear my cry O God; attend to my prayers (answer me) From the end of the earth I will cry unto thee; when my heart is overwhelmed;lead me to the rock that is higher than I.

Yeah Right, What Makes You Such An Expert?

I have been through some fires. Especially with the ones I loved the most. God got me through. God had his hands on me before I even knew who he was. Our love ones it seems intentionally or not can create some of the most unbearable pain. Especially if your intention with them is to show them love. There are times when this is hard. It seems no one "understands". When the impossible seems that, impossible. It is a smoke screen. Old "Diablo" at work. Take yourself to a quiet place. Pray this prayer, Psalms 120:2 Deliver my soul O Lord from lying lips and from deceitful tongues. Psalms 120:6-7 Lord my soul has long dwelt with him that seems to hate peace. Lord I am for peace but help me here:it seems they are for war. Look up ask the Lord for his guidance. Have Faith.

Chronically Correct

Ever had those days where every thing had to be chronically correct as opposed to being politically correct? Stop, put the breaks on. Loving, hugging, showing of affection to our children does not have to follow any kind of order. In turn they will pay it forward. Showing affection to their circle. Notice I say circle. Pray this prayer, Lord let me,from Romans 12:10 Be kindly affectioned to one another with brotherly love in honor preferring one another.
