Our Proud Moments

You see so many examples of pride going wrong. The tainted starlets. The greedy business men & women. The murders, molesters, and abusers. Liars, cheaters, thieves. All are examples of pride going wrong. The proud moments I wish to embrace and I hope you will too are things like: Watching your child say their first words. Watching your child read his or her first book. Sitting back watching the joy your family gets just having you around. Giving to others. Helping an elderly person with their heavy bags. Smiling. Saying hello. These are all examples of proud moments. God says this from 2nd Corinthians 7:4 I have spoken to you with great frankness; I take great pride in you. I am greatly encouraged; in all our troubles my joy knows no bounds. In other words God takes pride in us. Let's take the proud moments and cherish them.

I Will Pick My Battles Thank You

When your schedule is so demanding and you want to stay focused on the task at hand. But you can't because you are being distracted. Or when an ill fated thing, has been done or said by someone, who truly gets under our skins. That is when we need to stop and think. Or when a co-worker stops by your desk and ask how you are doing and genuinely wants to know. Who may indeed offer a different spin on things once they have listened. You walk away thinking my battle may not be the right battle for me. I have been there so many times. I try to remember what Proverbs 28:1 says. The wicked flee when no one pursues, but the righteous are bold as a lion. Stay grounded in God. There is no other way to have peace.

May Your Day Be Blessed

You know there are some people who in life are truly happy for you. There are some that are so miserable that they want to pass their misery on to you. My experience is if you are following the path that is lit for you, to hell misery should go. Do not let it be draining. Live life to the fullest. It has taken you this long to get where you are. Praise God for that. Romans 12:9 says let love be without hypocrisy. Abhor what is evil . Cling to what is good. Be good to yourself. God loves you. Amen!

It Can So Easily Be Taken

Yesterday I witnessed a take away. The neighbors next door to my son had apparently abandoned their house and their vehicle. I assume the economy had hit them like many others. I can view the back yard from the window. I see traces of what seemed to be a happy childrens play area, filled with toy trucks, slides, and small riding toys. But I also saw signs of negligence. Weeds growing through the astro turf. The grim reaper of vehicles came in the evening, just before sunset, to repossess the truck in the drive way. This is sad. To witness lives interrupted so. We have to stop living life for stuff. We need to focus on the foundations that God wants us to. I understand that working hard deserves comfort. There is no doubt about that. We over emphasis material things. They can be taken so easily. Matthew 10:41 says, he who receives a prophet in the name of a prophet shall receive a prophets reward and he who receives a righteous man shall receive a righteous man's reward. Do not get caught up in the material things of the world. Give from your heart and you shall be richly rewarded by God.

Just When You Think You Are Down

Just when you think you are down. Here comes God to show you that you are not out. My faith is steadfast. Is yours? Do you doubt? Do not. Render your thinking to the positive. Live, Love, and Give. When you do this, all you can say is "God is good all the time" and "All the time God is good"
Yes, to his almighty name. Thank you Lord for all that you have done for me. And guess what? I am going to pay it forward the rest of my life. Amen

Is There Always An Answer?

Yes there is always an answer. It may not be the answer we want to hear. It may be an answer that does not come right away. But yes there is an answer. It is God. Staying in faith. Praying everyday to be shown the how, the where, and the how to. I myself stand so "naked" sometime. I get overwhelmed with heaviness. When this happens I find that reading my bible helps, so much. I begin with a prayer asking for peace within. Then I look for a passage relevant to my issue. Psalms and Proverbs are great. So today I read Psalms 66:3 God how awesome are your works. Through the greatness of your power my enemies shall submit themselves to you. Amen

Hand Made With Love

That is what we are. Hand made with love from God. The energy that it takes to live is within us. God put it there. What happens sometime, is we allow our energy to be taken. The devil loves free stuff. He (the devil) loves to be invited in. Most of the time he uses his "I know his or her past" tickets. Listen, we are hand made with love from God. God wants us to flourish. He gives us incentive by having faith in him. No matter what it looks like. No matter what it sounds like. Do not fall for the deception. The smoke screen. Meditate on God. Ask him to come into your life. Move mountains for you. There are angels all around waiting for your call. Psalms 64:1-3 I will bless the Lord at all times. His praise shall continually be in my mouth. My soul shall make its boast in the Lord. The humble shall hear of it and be glad. Oh magnify the Lord with me and let us exalt his name together. Amen!

How Do We Take Death?

Unless you have felt the pain of loosing someone you love, it is hard to wrap your head around it, (Death). This is the dictionaries definition of death. Death is the termination of the biological functions that sustain a living organism. Our bodies turn to dust. We are spiritual as well as biological. Our spirituality is fed by the word of God. In that (the word of God) we maintain a freedom during life compared to no other. If we embrace Gods word we can understand that death is not final. Isaiah 63:15 says Look Down from heaven and see from your habitation the holy and glorious works of God. God's presence while you are here on earth is such a blessing, stay humble. Continue to give from your heart. Love life for we only have one to live. Live it well.

Dynamics Of God

I awoke this morning fully rested. Fully armed with blessings to give. Fully thankful. God is so good. I often go to bed thinking have I done enough for mankind? God is always there for us, always giving, forgiving and interceding. These are the Dynamics Of God. There are some who just wander through life. They are known as the lost. There are those who have chosen a different name for their higher source, but recognize that if it weren't for their named higher source there would be no life. So recognize. Be eternally grateful. Love your neighbor as you love yourself. Yes I said it love your self. Pray every day. You can speak to God one on one. Mono y Mono. It does not have to be a prayer or quote from the bible. Just let it be you. May God show you his Dynamic today and everyday.

Man I Turned The Other Cheek Only To Get Slapped

There is a saying in Matthew 5:39 Do not resist an evil person. If someone strikes you on the right cheek, turn to him the other also. I often wondered why in the world would anyone do this? I set it on the back burner and did not think much of it until the other day. It seemed like the devil was trying to steal the joy from all around me. Whew! I was hit with this whammy bam! Then another bam! Then another bam! My cheeks had turned so much I needed a little neck adjustment. In the end I realized that this exercise was to strengthen me. " To turn the other cheek to see over the rainbow" To see clearly. To set those life changing goals. To smile with people because they will smile back. Job in the bible never gave up. The devil stole his joy every day for a while. God had his hands on him though and the devil could not kill him. Psalms 68:28 Summon your power, O God; show us your strength, O God, as you have done before. Amen!

I Came, I Went, I Saw

There are times when challenges hit the deepest part of our being. We shed tears. We try to escape by using drugs & alcohol to ease or hide the pain. We may go hard in the paint with working out. We as humans usually do something. I have struggled like many others with challenge. Here's what I know now. The struggle is not mine it is the Lords. The more I try to work through it my way, the harder it gets. I profess I do not have the answer for you, but I have found for me.....God is my refuge. I cannot take on the challenges of life alone. My body has grown weary. My mind has remained sane but only, through the blood of Jesus. Jesus died for man kinds pain. Pray this prayer when the challenge is so great you could burst. Lord I hear a loud voice from the throne saying, "Now the dwelling of God is with men, and God will live with them. Please make us your people. I know God you yourself will be with us and be our God. Please wipe every tear from our eyes. For there will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away." Revelation 21:3-4

To Know Ones Purpose

I never realized how blessed I was in knowing my purpose here on this earth. God has been with me from the beginning. And is still with me now. I often think of this song that Mr. Lionel Richie sang. The song is called Just To Be Close To You. This particular lyric sticks out. I was a lonely man,a man with no purpose, a man with no value. No one to love me but me. You see when God is in your life, you become purpose driven. You are lead down the path with light. God Loves You. There are no questions. Your steps are ordered and you follow. Sometime we question too much. Faith,Trust,Understanding come with study. Study of oneself. Study of your fellow men. And most of all study of God.Psalms 77:6 I meditate within my heart and my spirit to make a diligent search for you my lord. Pray this heart opening statement. God will do the rest. He knows the desires of your heart. He will guide you to your purpose.

Let God Arise

Have you ever sat by the ocean and just listened to the sound of the water moving in and out. It is so powerful and loud you cannot hear another speak without them raising their voice somewhat. This feat of nature is so amazing. The ebb and flow of the waves. The displacement of the sand each time a wave comes to shore. The ambiance of the mist rising from the water as it crashes ashore. This simply takes your breath away. It is definitely the power of God. In our lives we experience the ebb and flow of life. We often surround ourselves with people or places that are so loud we cannot hear ourselves think. And each time the wave of life comes in it seems to displace a little more sand each time. Hear these words clearly. God has the power to move mountains. And God is not mysterious at all. We have to have faith in him. We have to watch what we say and how we say it. We have to be aware of our surroundings. Pray this prayer of God's Jeremiah 31:3 Lord come to me. I see you appearing old to me. Continue to provide me with, everlasting love:and your loving kindness as I continue to draw from it.

Life Is Precious

So many times we see horrible things happening on the news. We hear that so and so did this or so and so did that. It's when it is in our own back yards, that we pay close attention. I have been on the west coast for the last couple of days and felt a pain in my heart when the news cast so matter of factly talked about a fatal accident, showing the covered body laying by the side of the road. Life is so very precious. Let us keep in mind God thinks so as well. We have to stop being numb to death it is not easy to except. The ancients believed there was an after life after death. This is their belief. My belief is in God and I so value life irrespective of whose it is. Life, living,is wonderful. Death is final.Psalms 23:6 Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the Lord for ever.

You Reap What You Sow

God has given us five extra ordinary senses. We have eyes to see. We have ears to hear. We have a nose to smell. We have a mouth to taste and express ourselves through speech. We have a system that allows us to feel, touch, shiver, sweat. Those are our five senses. We also as humans have the capacity to think. We have free will. We know right from wrong. We have a soul. From all of this we can understand what it means to give. You can give a compliment. You can give a person a bottle of water. You can give of your self. Take note here, that what ever you give will be given back to you. You notice I did not put any negative to anything I said. Because I want us to think of giving as a great gift. This is your sixth sense. Knowing that giving is meant to be unconditional. Why not reap a harvest of love and good from the seeds of giving? I Corinthians: 3:7 God gives increase to those that plant and he who waters the plants. And that every man shall receive his own reward according to his own labour. For we are labourers together with God.

Just Remember

To know a person is to love a person. May this day find you in tune with the universe. Which if done correctly (being in tune) will bring you an abundance of knowledge and wealth.

Spoken Words

Have you ever been taken a back by someone's words? You may question yourself after a conversation asking,"Did she just say that?" Or find yourself apologizing after something you said "Oh no that's not what I meant" I watched an interview with President Obama Sunday. The interviewer asked several questions about the decision to "take out" public enemy number one. One question stuck out, more then others. The interviewer asked "Mr. President you did tell your wife about your plans didn't you?" The first thing you noticed when the president answered was a small hardly noticeable pause. Then he raised up a little so that his eyes met the reporters. He then very intentionally answered the question without answering the question. Words skillfully put can avoid a question. Words nicely put can lift some ones spirit. Words eloquently put, make great conversation. Proverbs 25:11 Says a word fitly spoken is like apples of gold in pictures of silver. Ask the Lord to give you wisdom and to guide you in your spoken word, today and everyday.

I Can See Clearly Now

I often wonder why at times, it always seems to be cloudy in my life. I seem to think by concentrating hard I can solve it all by myself. It is an illusion. I can't think my way out of a situation. I do not possess that power. This so many times have proven to be a misconception. My answers come when I sit quietly say my prayers and I ask God to reveal to me his plan. When I take the I's out of the problem, answers become so clear. Have you ever been in a situation like this? Pray this prayer.Isaiah 30:21 Lord I know that if I turn to the right or to the left, my ears will hear a voice behind me, saying, "This is the way; walk in it". Thank you Lord for guiding my path. Thank you for showing me the way. Amen
Note: Count the I's in your daily activities, take them away and replace them with, We. You will be surprised at how things turn around for you.

God Doesn't Make Mistakes

I watched a performance by an entertainer named "Lady Gaga" the other day. I was very impressed. I used to wonder why everyone loved her shows. I see now. The first thing I noticed was her flamboyancy. Then I saw her passion in what she is doing. And lastly the song she sang. "God doesn't make mistakes" . The song was her anthem. In it (song) was acceptance of who she is. And that she forgives her self for being confused. She is proud to be who and what she is. She has accepted that through Jesus Christ she can do all things. If you have those ground staying rules in you repetua nothing or no one can stop you. I often imagine a homeless person/ angel on the corner of any city USA, holding a hand written cardboard sign,"Do You Have God?"
No God makes no mistakes. The "Devil" creates and keeps up confusion.. May you find your day blessed and highly favored. With God all things are possible.

If You Don't Let It Go

Our bodies are not meant to carry the burdens of others. We have enough just maintaining the inner and outer body for ourselves. When we take on the burdens of others, the weight is heavy. We get thrown off of our stride. Our focus is distorted. Our immune system goes into shock. The older we get, the more strain on our hearts, our minds and other major functions of our bodies. We have to let burdens go. Let Go and Let God. Write that in crayon on your T-shirt.It is a must. Psalm 55:22 Cast your burden on the Lord and He will sustain you; He will never allow the righteous to be moved (made to slip, fall, or fail).

Everyday Should Be Mothers Day

We give homage to our mothers on this Sunday. A very wonderful day indeed. A little interjection here. There are fathers who have done a darn good job raising their families as well. I know that fathers have their day set aside in June. I think there should be a Parents Day. It takes both along with a village to raise a child. We need to keep that in mind. Showing respect for our children isn't a rule breaker. With proper use it(respect) is a winner for parent and child. There isn't a book written yet, that has all the mother, father and child rules in them. The key to raising our children is to give them the best that we can. Help them know right from wrong. Give them strength in character. Lift them up spiritually. One of the amazing things to watch is a Condor Vulture teaching their young how to ride the thermo up drafts. This carries this large bird through the air without having to flap their wings. Until the young vulture is ready for adulthood, his wing color is all brown. When the condor reaches full adulthood, their feathers take on a majestic black and white combination. Black being the dominate feather color. White running across their backs from wing span to wing span. This bird has very strong feathers. We can teach our children how to ride those updrafts. With Gods help we can lead our children through the rite of passage so that their wings become majestic and they can leave the nest with confidence. Father let me be that guide as you are to me, for my children. Amen

Researching Antiquity

One of my favorite things to watch on television is the National Geographic channel. They often explore places once occupied by ancient civilizations. One venture took the explorers to the top of the Andes mountains 8000 ft. up,to place called Machu Picchu. An ancient Inca civilization occupied this city over 2000 years ago. The explorers were amazed at how wonderfully preserved the city was. How the rocks were so perfectly put together that held up the city walls and housing. How advanced the Inca were. Irrigation canals channeling rain water. Wells & fountains supplying fresh spring water to the ancient city. How perfectly aligned worship areas were to our sun. The scientist used the skeletal remains discovered, to determine the sex,age and what they died from as well as their diets. What was so perplexing to me and the scientist was that the Inca's left no written word on what they did and how they did it. The only way scientist were able to piece together daily activity of these ancient people were through written journals kept by the spanish monks who in turn took part in destroying the Inca civilizations through raids & desecration. The Inca descendants like many other indigenous people passed down stories from one generation to the other, describing the ways of the people. We as Christians are blessed to have written word. The Bible. We can pick this wonderful book up to ask for forgiveness. Read how problems were solved. What was eaten back in the day. A wealth of knowledge. Gods laws. Pick up a Bible today. Start where ever you want. Lord today I ask that you guide me through life with instruction and understanding through your written word, the Bible. Amen

Can I Get A Do Over?

Many Many times mistakes are made by us. We are human. We do occasionally miss the stake. God engineered a plan for us. Jesus. Jesus grew up like most children. He had to do chores around the house. He watched and learned his fathers trade, You know the typical things a young child should do.It is also said, that Jesus as a boy, did some mischievous things as wellx10. Such as turning clay birds, into real birds. Hurting a boy real bad for just bumping into him,the boy died. He got real mad at another kid for spilling the water he had just pulled out of the well, Beat him up real bad. The neighbors started telling Jesus parents about some of the things he was doing. Jesus got mad, at them and blinded them. God said,"HOLD ON SON, your talent was not given for you to do harm No Sir." "I am going to forgive you, and give you a Do Over". I want you to get your act together go into that temple in town, preach a sermon on redemption. Jesus obeyed this and at the age of 12 went to the temple and did what God had asked him to do. He was good after that. In life we have the same opportunities. Redeem ourselves. We just need to ask God for forgiveness. Pray this prayer Ephesians 1:7 Lord in you we have redemption through the blood of Jesus. Please forgive us of our sins.We ask this in your name in accordance to the riches of your grace.Amen
Note:These stories were found in the Dead Sea Scrolls Book of Thomas, which were found in the 1900's in Egypt.

Judge Them Not

I remember driving down the road one rainy day with my son. I made a comment about a homeless person. I don't really remember what I said, I do however remember what my son said, "Mom you never know what that man or woman has been through". Wow. My son spoke that truism over 20 years ago. Flash to present day. I visited the Veterans Hospital in our city yesterday with one of my relatives. I was so humbled. The first thing I noticed was the dignity that every veteran had walking into the hospital. The second thing I noticed was the smiles on the staffs faces everywhere I looked. And the third thing I noticed was the pride so exuberantly expressed on the walls up lifting pictures and words of wisdom. I noticed the cleanliness in all areas. I looked around me and saw soldiers with no legs, no arms. I saw soldiers who's wounds were not so visible. My son's words rang so loudly in my ear. Mom you never know what they've been through .We go through our everyday life not realizing who we judge. It is not our place to do so. Imagine if we were judged by God? I think we would experience some tough times. No I have made it a point in my life to prohibit myself from doing so, because you never know what that person has been through. Pray this prayer when you find yourself judging. Romans 14:13 Let me stop passing judgment on one another. Instead, make up your mind not to put any stumbling block or obstacle in your brother's way. Along with that Matthew 7:3 Lord let me not look at the speck of sawdust in my brother's eye and pay no attention to the plank in my own eye?

Bare Your Soul

Are you brave enough to bare your soul? I watched a television show last night that I thought was so amazing. In it a mother and daughter take a trip down memory lane. They revisit a place that was so painful to them both. This part of the journey took a young mother, her small daughters to a place in which they relived the running for their lives from a very abusive night. The mother had gotten brutally beat. The family ran to a motel with the clothes on their backs and no money. The mother was so visibly shaken, she almost went into a panic attach. Her daughter was in the mist of telling her mother what that night did to her when the mother asked the driver to pull over she wanted to get something to eat. The daughter got very upset. She felt that her mother was invalidating her pain. I think this took such bravery to bare this on television for many to see. I also commend them trying to heal each other. This is reality life. Have you the fortitude to bare you soul. God is listening. He although you may not feel it, and you may be questioning why? He is still there. Call on the Lord. One of the requirements God has is to love him unconditionally. To call on him, when your soul is in pain. Just lift your hands up and say, "God I know you have this, 'cause I cannot take anymore"Pray this prayer, Psalms 64:1-10 it begins with Hear my voice God, I am praying. Preserve my life from fear of the enemy. Start there. Read it through. And know the spirit of God is there when you want to bare your soul.

The Shifting Sand

There is a nomadic tribe called the Woodabe, who travel the Sahara desert moving their large herds of cattle constantly to keep them fed and watered. The interesting point here aside from these ancient Ethiopian peoples, having lived this nomadic life for over 5000 years is that they navigate through a desert which is in constant motion, using no visible landmarks. Or are there? It is said that the elder women of the tribe know the landmark dunes to follow to get the tribes people, their camels and herds to certain watering holes/oasis' in this vast, ever changing desert. In life the landmarks may not be visible. You may be in an ever changing environment. That's what Gods Angels do. They guide you through the "desert". Angels come in many forms. What is needed firstly,is to believe and trust in God. Secondly just sit still and listen, you may hear a whisper, you may see a sign. But always keep your mind open for that guidance. Pray this prayer:Psalms 139:1-4 Lord you know me. You know my downside, you know my upside. You understand when I go astray. Please provide a compass for my path. And when I am still acquaint me with your ways. This I ask in Jesus name Amen.
