This Day Is For Atonement

Atonement means to cleanse. To make your soul clean. God said in Leviticus16:30 For on this day God will make atonement for you. He will cleanse you and make you clean from all of your sins. It is not such a stretch to expect this in today's times. God forgives us everyday. This is proven each time you wake. Each time you are blessed. Each time you give. But maintenance on our souls is required every now and then. Take the Sabbath day (7th day of the week) to cleanse, breath, love and live. God Bless You today and everyday.

Don't Hear Him Huh?(GOD)

There was this guy in the old days of the bible who was by today's standards the bomb. Muscles popping out every where. Handsome. Articulate. Brave. His name was Saul. He was sent on a journey by his dad to find some of the livestock that had wondered off. Just as he and his buddy were about to give up they ran into a dude in a small village named Samuel. Samuel had a direct line to God. God had told Samuel to tell Saul that his people(Saul's) needed someone like him to protect the village from the giants. And that he will be chosen as king. Saul said, heck yeah I can do this. And he did just that, protected the village from the many enemies that attacked. God would let Samuel know via dream or a whisper how he (God) wanted things played out & Samuel would pass it on to Saul. Well Saul's head started getting big and he started doing things his way. God did not go for this and told Samuel that Saul could no longer listen therefore he could no longer lead the people and was de-throned. Of course Saul was bitter from this day forth. The point is when God speaks and his words are written we should take heed. When you as a man or a women get that feeling, intuition. Know that it is that whisper, that faint voice. Hear it. John 16:33 I have told you all this so that you may have peace in me. Here on earth you will have many trials and sorrows. But take heart, because I have overcome the world.

A Pass Through The Mountains

When I first moved to this small rural area, that I currently live in. I wondered why all the roads had numbers instead of names (route###). Secondly I was curious about the name of my township (zip code). What did the name mean? I remember my dad giving me a map and saying "go find the post office". That was his way of getting me familiar with the roads with no names. And way before us little people had GPSs'. I found the post office. A man was standing there donning the features of most around here( pale, red hair, green eyes). There were many Scottish immigrants that settled here. I asked him about the name of this township and he preceded to tell me that his Gx2 grandfather founded this post office(the only one in these here woods)Wow! Can you imagine Jesus and his disciples walking for long periods of time. Speaking here and there. Their bewilderment sometime, wondering where in the world were they going? And when the question arose, Jesus simply said, I am your pass through the mountain. The mountain of life. Follow me. The Bibles reference is here in John 14:6 Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. Amen

This Is The Golden Time Of Day

This happens to be a song title to one of my favorite songs. However I would like to break down a meaning that brings the song together with life's events. It is written in the book of Revelations "thrust in your sickle and reap for the harvest of the earth is ripe". Among the worlds degradation God's children have to remain faithful. Do not see the all present. The devil has the stage and he is extending a casting call. Look up. And yes, we are human. We fall down. But God knows our hearts. There were plenty a sinner in the old days. After all God turned a Christian killer into a saint that spread the word of the gospels. That man you ask? Paul. So yes, my friends in the mist of all of this worldly deceit and destruction this is the golden time of day. Keep God First Amen.

Rise And Plant A Seed

Do you know that for every action there is an equal & opposite re-action. So why not plant a positive seed today and every day. The bounty is immeasurable. One act of kindness can change a persons life. And it cost absolutely nothing. I am in the habit of watching people, and reacting to their body language as well as their verbal responses. You would be surprised at the glow a young lady or man has when you give them an uplifting compliment. Or your spouse or loved one. Plant a seed, watch it grow. Galatians 6:9 And let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up.

Should I Throw Out The Old For The New?

This is a question not many ask therefore an answer would not be relevant. But and yes there is a proverbial but. An answer is what I will provide. My mother tried to tell me years ago that styles usually come back. They come back a little different but they come back. Or my dad would remind me "girl you all are not doing anything that we did not do, so hear this advise about......" It was usually about boys (the advise). My point is that no matter what life throws at you it has been thrown before. The bible is a composition of years of what's happened before. The bible tells you how man reacts to situations. The bible tells you how the earth was destroyed, who lived who died. No I would not throw out the old for the new. The old has meaning, longevity, wisdom. We can learn from the old.Job 12:12. Wisdom belongs to the aged, and understanding to the old.

Make a Joyful Shout To God All The Earth

Some of us have not experienced, what a wonderful relief it is to just shout. Notice I said wonderful. I do not mean shouting to the top of your lungs in anger. I mean shout out to the Lord as loud as you can in happiness, thankfulness, graciousness. We tend to think that our bad situations are the worst thing that could ever happen to us. When you begin to think this way, try really hard to take the I or me out of the equation. Think for a minute yes, this does look bad but I know God, somewhere on this earth someone is experiencing a worse situation then I. I humble myself Lord and know that I am blessed and highly favored in your eye. I do shout thank you in my loud voice for all that you do. Amen!

Music To My Ears

Ah! Music is so soothing and it is true (music) is the universal language. Music described plain and simply has no lyric. No words to cloud the pureness of the sensory God gave us to use: our ears. If we in life just stopped and listened (used our ears) to the messages God gives us. We would be better equipped to handle what ever life has to throw at us. God's word is music to my ears. Isaiah 49:8 Thus says the Lord In acceptable time I have heard you and in the day of salvation I have helped you. I will preserve the people and restore this earth. For I am God. Amen. When needed put on a little soothing music, pick up your bible and just read.

Proverbs:To Improve In

The book of Proverbs was written by the son of David and Bathsheba. David was the King of Israel and Bathsheba a beautiful women of color was his wife. They had a very wise and prophetically gifted son, Solomon. This book(Proverbs) has so many wise and wonderfully stated lessons. It is a book in the Bible that helps you understand the do's and the dont's of life and how one should deal with children,

men, women. So if looking for an answer perhaps to a direct question on how to, or what should I do. Start at the beginning of this chapter and read on until you get to your answer. Proverbs is the 20th chapter of the Old testament. Located between Psalms and Ecclesiastes.

It Was Gods Plan All Along

There are times we question the things that happen to us. I am guilty of this myself. I however, have been in practice for some years now that I not question. This shows
God that I have lost faith. I have come to believe that there is a reason for everything. Sometimes things do go bad. There is a lesson to be learned when this happens. There are times when things go well. Again there is a lesson in this as well. What we have to do is pray for discernment, which means; ask God for meaning. Just plain humble yourself. If bewilderment comes into play do not ask God "why"? Ask God to help you see through it. Ask God to show you what he wants you to know. On the other hand if you receive a blessing or blessings stay humble, give thanks and ask God to show you what he wants you to know.Ephesians 2:8-9 For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast.

They Have Struck Me But I Was Not Hurt

The Devil attacks where he can. He has no knowledge of the future. The devil simply deals with the demons of the past. The temptations of the past. It is our blindness at times that prevents us from seeing this. Proverbs 23:35 says they have struck me but I was not hurt. Call out God's name. His name alone sends the devil running. We tend to get into trouble when we start envying worldly things as well. Proverbs 24:1-2 says Do not be envious of evil men nor desire to be with them, for their hearts are full of evil and their lips talk of trouble making. So when temptation arises and the smooth talk of deception comes in front of you. Look up and say God if this is of you let me know, if not "Satan get thee behind me, God is my strength and my redeemer"Amen.

To Give Of Ones Self

The news headlines are constant and most often with adverse affects. I never hardly see a good story. A giving story. So my conclusion here is, we must make our own news worthy stories. We must give up thinking about ourselves first. Instead give of oneself. Try real hard to give from your heart. God always does. Romans 14:11 As I live says the Lord, every knee shall bow to me and every tongue shall confess to me. The lord sees all, especially what is in your heart.

As Smoke Is Driven Away

Let's face it. There are bitter, scornful, negative people in this world. We cannot change that. What we can change is how we deal with them. You must not let yourself be pulled into their world. Absolutely not. By any means necessary stand clear and do not engage. This is a spirit only the most high can deal with. The danger in dealing with a person or persons with this type of dysfunction can effect us at our weakest moments. So I say with all my heart. Let no weapons be formed against you. God does not bless dysfunction. God does not bless bitterness. God does not bless a scorned negative person. Psalms 68:1-3 Let God arise, may your enemies be scattered; may your foes flee before God. As smoke is driven away by the wind, may your enemies be blown away. As wax melts before the fire, may the wicked perish before God. May the righteous(you) be glad and rejoice before God; may you be happy and joyful. Amen

One Step At A Time

There are so many times when I go through my day that I say to my self "just take one step at a time". It cannot all be done right now, right away. No sometimes we need to repeat that mantra over and over again. This is a fast paced world. And everything seems as though it is designed to get it done right away. Phones are 4G vs 3G. Companies are vying for the fastest download time. You can pay your bills "right away" online. The list goes on and on. When it comes to mankind however, the bottom line is, nothing takes the place of physical contact. We have five senses and God made those senses to be used in our day to day activity. We need not forget this. Our children need to learn social skills. They need to have physical contact. A hug. A word of encouragement. They need to be taught value, honor, faith and trust. And we as parents need to take it one step at a time in passing this on. Father God I ask that you keep us all in prayer. Show us favor. Guide us. Show us mercy. Give us strength. This I ask in Jesus name. Amen

Reach Back, Remember From Where You Came

So often in our day to day activity we tend to forget that it hasn't always been this way. Some of us struggled to get where we are now. I can hear my dads voice saying to my mom " I am working this hard so that my children don't have to". And he did. So when the blessings have been good to you, remember the one's left behind who may have not been so fortunate. Reach back grab a hand or two. God is watching and knows your heart. Lift up your fellow man. Ecclesiastes 12:14 For God will bring every work into judgement. Including every secret thing weather good or evil.

Genetically Altered

I received my inspiration today as I was cutting my fruit up for breakfast. The first thing I noticed was the firmness of the fruit. The second thing I noticed was the smallness of the fruit( not to full size). The third thing I noticed was the absence of fragrance. I then thought about my trip to California this past May. I visited a very vibrant part of California which had crops of fruit & vegetables for miles. I could smell the fresh strawberries in the fields. I could see the pistachio trees blowing in the wind. When visiting the grocery stores in the area the fruit was so fresh and as advertised locally grown. So in my thinking today I came to the conclusion that the fruit I was preparing today had to be genetically altered to survive the travel from the fields to the store shelves so far away. We have taken away from the true fruit. We have forgotten to let the fruit ripen naturally . We have forgotten that our sense of smell lets us know that the fruit is ready to be eaten. In life God gives us the tools to become a fruit naturally grown, with sweetness. We have no shelf life. We do not succumb to the genetically altered way of prayer, praise and love of God. Open that bible everyday. Amen

Do Not Lose Sight

We sometimes get caught up in the struggle and turn to blame as an out. It is so easy to do. I am guilty, yes. We have to do everything in our power not to lose sight of the victories God has for us. Yes you may have gotten that letter in the mail Dear Mr. or Dear Ms. we ..... fill in the blank. It could be health related. It could be death. It could be employment or the lack there of. But each day we wake with breath in our bodies gives us a chance to say humbly God thank you for another day. God you said you would be here for me. God you said you would never leave or forsake me. Take the time to say God I know you have this. And listen for that whisper. That sign. That word. When it is from God it is confirmed (three times). Watch for the path with light. Pray with me....Lord I give myself away so you can use me. Guide me with a path of enlightenment. I will not lose sight, for you are my Lord and Savior. Amen.

Password Protected

Today by all accounts everything that we do is in some form or fashion, done on or in a computer. With that said a password or two is needed to engage with the device we use. Be it your home computer. Your smart phone. Your cable television devise. Your banking. The list goes on. In jest I say we will need a password to speak to our neighbor or fellow man. Just joking here. One thing that will never be pass word protected is the Bible. This book has been around for thousands of years. You can reference it anytime. Let us remember this. The mind, the body and the soul need to remain healthy in order for us to live. The soul is fed spiritually and no password is required. Psalms 66:1-3 Make a joyful shout to God and the earth. Sing out the honor of his name. Make his praise glorious. Say to God "How awesome are your works, through the greatness of your power. Amen

All I Want Is Peace

Our journeys lead us to peaks and through valleys all of our lives. We are challenged. We are let down. We are bruised. We are bumped. When all is said and done all we really want is peace. Today and every day make that your silent promise to yourself. You surely deserve that (peace). Peace cost absolutely nothing. Just a little prayer. Psalms 23:2 God let me rest in green meadows; God lead me beside peaceful streams. Pray this prayer everyday and ask for God's favor. God will never leave or forsake you.

God's Time Is Not Our Time

Wow! For the last couple days I have been caught up in a complete world wind.I have been really busy. So busy my daily routine has been slightly disrupted, or has it? I am used to getting up praising God. Reading my bible.Writing my inspirational words. Reading emails & twitter messages. Making phone calls. Preparing myself for the days work. Paying bills. And the list goes on. As I said all the above seemed to be in succinct order until the last few days. Do not get me wrong all has been done daily, but not in my normal order. I had to stop and think for a moment. God cannot have an order to his works because everyone is different and everyone has different circumstances that happen at different times. He (God) just does it when the time arises, on his time(God's). And the amazing part of this whole point is it gets DONE! Ecclesiastes 3:1 Everything has its own time, and there is a specific time for every activity under heaven. Lord I thank you for this time on earth to do your works, in Jesus name I pray. Amen

What's Inside?

As a child I am sure you all know how much fun it was to open a present. It was so exciting to see the gift wrap, the bow, your name. Something just bubbled up inside of you. You did not have any idea what was inside. You hoped that it was something new and exciting. Something you saw on television. Something you saw in a store window. I remember asking for Lego's way back when. My parents were struggling just to make ends meet. I did not understand the back story then. I opened my gift on Christmas and it was not Lego's. I sunk down inside. It was a gift. Wrapped nicely. A bow. And my name. What I did not realize then as some of us do now, it is not what's on the outside that counts. It is the thought. It is the time and effort put into it. It is the genuineness. It is the heart. Look inside yourself. Look inside of others. God looks inside of us. When you come from the heart in a giving manner, he(God) smiles on you.

Motives: Purpose & Intention

Yes sometime we have to question our purpose and others motives & intentions. I say this when the question arises, do not think too hard on it. Simply because God is in charge of the BIG picture. You wonder why is this happening? Why is this so painful? If you did not feel the emotion of the situation you would not know what you enjoy and what you do not enjoy. There is a true lesson in that. No God's purpose is not to make us suffer, no not at all. God wants us to not have any question at all on what our purpose is in life. Pray this prayer, Lord help me to know my purpose and to have faith in you, that you will guide me through. This I ask in Jesus name amen

A Mothers Prayer

Dear Lord I ask out loud today, to put your hedge of protection around all of us. Especially our children. They are in need of guidance just like us. Our children are our legacy and we want the best for them. We ask God, that you help us forgive them for the hurt they may cause us because they do not mean it. We just pray that the ground work you (Lord) and me instilled in them rings out loud and clear when needed. We give all burdens to you O Lord because they have become too heavy for me to bear alone. This I ask and pray for in Jesus name Amen!

Have I Planted A Seed?

We all have to ask ourselves this question. I am impressed by a program I watched on C-Span giving recognition to people who have provided awareness to society about the laws involving "illegal immigrants"via blogging. I was so out done by a story of a gentleman who had received an award that evening, he was an American citizen, however his dad came from a very poor, poor neighborhood in Turkey. His father desired to go to school, to get an education so that he can better his family. To provide for them so that they would not have to pick olives all their lives. His father studied hard. His family had no electricity or running water. His desire was so strong and studies so prudent he (his father) was able to test for a prominent college in the USA. Free education(scholarship). He brought his family to the US became a citizen and the rest is history. The seed was planted. The desire for embetterment was there. Pray this Lord help me to plant a seed today. Allow me to nurture that seed so that it may grow, and in turn re-seed so that life may be bountiful. Amen

You Cannot Fight Alone

I had a conversation the other day involving my concern for a loved one. My thoughts were confounded because this young person has been given and shown the good way of life. Some how along the way, the negative character flaws have surfaced. The lying, cheating, stealing. You ask yourself why? I have given this child everything I could so that he or she can have a better life. So that this child does not make the same mistakes I made. As a matter of fact I can remember when my mother & father said and showed us these very things. As a teenager we thought to ourselves "what do they know"? The bottom line here is, we are no match for this battle. We have to give it to God. We have to know in our hearts that we have done the absolute best that we could. We have to know that we will never give up. And we have to pray to God for the hedge of protection. Psalms 86: 6-7 God give ear to my prayer and attend to the voice of my supplications. In the day of my troubles I will call upon you. I know you will answer.I cannot fight this alone. Amen

There's More Beneath The Surface

I have had encounters with people, family, and friends that throw me off sometime. I can remember growing up my mom being in a somber mood sometimes when I got up. I often wondered what I did to make her feel that way. Or I would come into work and speak cheerfully to a co-worker and they barely opened their mouth. Or I have spoken to someone passing by on the street and get no response at all. All this to say my vista could have been wrong. My view could have been distorted. I may not have known that my mother had had words with my dad. I could not have known that my co-worker was getting evicted. I surely had no idea that the person I spoke to on the street had just gotten harassed by the police unnecessarily. So next time you encounter someone who seems to be sad, angry, upset, there very well may be a back story. It may not have to do with you at all. Pray for them a genuine prayer:Luke 11:1-13 Father I pray in your name to give us each day our daily bread. Forgive us our sins, and we need to also forgive everyone who sins against us. Lead us not into temptation. For you (God) are our rock and our fortress Amen!
