It is very apparent that some factions of "religion" practice a lot of ceremonial stuff. Just to clarify, it is not a requirement to perform or keep up with these things to gain and keep the love of God. Jesus came to us to let all mankind know that. It is only through him that is necessary to be on Gods good side. Not to take away from religious practice but that is basically what Jesus taught. The gentiles (regular hard working people) did not have the "right stuff" to worship in the temples. The slaves did not have the worthiness to stand among the chosen few. God sent Jesus to put a stop to all of this. He died for it. But his rebellion created a simple and honorable practice that radiates through Christianity. Honor God by giving from the heart. Love thy neighbor as you would have him love you.* Do not use the Lords name in vein. And that the only sacrifice required was the life of Jesus. He gave himself to satisfy the sins of mankind. So no, pomp and circumstance is not a requirement.
Romans 8:37-39 No, in all these things we are
more than conquerors through him who loved us. For I am sure that
neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor
things to come, nor powers, nor height nor depth, nor anything else in
all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ
Jesus our Lord.
*there are many more commandments(guidelines) written these are just some.
