I Am The Good Shepherd

John 10:11-14 I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd gives his life for the sheep. The hired help he who is not the shepherd, the one who does not own the sheep sees the wolf coming and leaves the sheep. Leaving the wolf to catch the sheep. I am the good shepherd, I know my sheep and am known by my own.
This is so true today. You have every kind of self proclaimed evangelist, preacher, bishop, priest in all "religions" claiming to be the leader of the "flock". There is only one and that is Jesus. If there be a name for those who have the goodness in their hearts to teach the word of God so be it. Let them be called teachers. They are not divine. They are human just like me and you. And are not owed anything to be teachers of the word. Unlike some standing at the pulpit. Remember who the good shepherd was. He will come back for his sheep soon.

He Who Is Without Sin Cast The First Stone

I love it in the Bible when the high priest got angry at Jesus and the disciples for feeding the hungry, healing the sick and speaking to non-Jews on Sabbath. Which according to Jewish tradition is a day that is set aside for God to speak and directly interact with the high priest and certain Jews. Of course Jesus was considered a rebel, although he was Jewish he did not believe that God was for a certain few. God was for everybody who excepted him. When Jesus spoke with the (prostitute) at the well. The uppity people of the day wanted to stone her for even speaking to Jesus or anyone for that fact.
John 8:7 When they kept on questioning him, he straightened up and said to them, "If any one of you is without sin, let him be the first to throw a stone at her."
I say this to say, there is no one on this earth better then you, especially in Gods eyes.

Is It Possible To Hold Are Own?

2 Corinthians 3:4-6 “And such trust have we through Christ to God-ward: Not that we are sufficient of ourselves to think any thing as of ourselves; but our sufficiency is of God; Who also has made us able ministers of the new testament; not of the letter, but of the spirit: for the letter kills but the spirit gives life.”
Is it possible to hold your own in your everyday activity? Some are convinced that it is, that what they do and how they do it is directed totally by them.  I find that so interesting. Of course I through my faith in God know better. But the skeptics want to state scientific analogies and such to support their hypothosis on life and it's creation.  This is God's world, Comos, universe, what ever you want to call it.  And I am a firm believer that you cannot do anything on your own. God is there all the time. Now of course the enemy comes into play just as much if we let him or her. The key is the total giving of your heart and soul to God. Do not try to take control. When you do is when you fall completely on your face. And yes, God stands by and watches as you do so.

Trust In God All Of The Time

Do Not Play With God

I read a story in the bible the other day which described the power that God gave to Jesus and his disciples. The power to heal, the power to rid people of illnesses. When people Jews and Gentiles saw these miracles they were taken back.  The true believers believed even more. However there were the skeptics who saw these miracles and tried to copy them. In one intense the high priest of the Jewish temple tried "laying hands" on some of the demon filled people copying what the disciples and Jesus were able to do. The demons literally spoke to these priest saying "I know Jesus, I know of his disciples, but I know not of you" and drove them crazy, running through the temple into the streets without clothes and screaming crazily. I say to you God and what he does is for him to do. No one else can fit those shoes. We have to acknowledge his power.  Of course there are skeptics even today. Trust, faith, and belief in our father is all that is required to prevent the" running through the streets in a crazy state"
1 John 3:1  See what kind of love the Father has given to us, that we should be called children of God; and so we are. The reason why the world does not know us is that it did not know him.

Christ You Are Our Letter Written In Our Hearts

2 Corinthians 3:2-3 You yourselves are our letter, written on our hearts, known and read by everyone.  You show that you are a letter from Christ, the result of our ministry, written not with ink but with the Spirit of the living God, not on tablets of stone but on tablets of human hearts. It is so important to note that there are so many references in the Bible that make mention that through Jesus we are saved and that if we listen to God and his laws, Jesus is included in all of the new testament as the son of God and that he came here to this earth in human form to die a human death, shedding his blood for many. And we should as man understand the importance of that. We as man don't have it right. We sin over and over again. It is brought to light in 2 Corinthians that the Jewish priest thought highly of the prophet and patriarch Moses. But again reetification shows that no matter what, no matter how many Jewish laws are written and broken. The one Messiah has to die for the sins of man. And he is called Messiah because he rose on that third day. And will come again. 
*Messiah means a name for Jesus Christ; it means the person whom God sent to save people from his anger because of their bad ways.

To Love ,Honor, And Trust God

Until we take it personal, until we realize that we too are in this equation called life, it can be seen as "no it can't happen to me" by our very selves.  As the author of this blog, I want it known that I have and continue to experience all that I write about. It is so difficult at times to remember the enemy really does come after those who Love, Honor and Trust God. The spiritual warfare is constant. And like Job can also be a physical attack as well. But strength lies in our faith and praise in and to God. No weapons formed against me shall prosper. In church yesterday we took communion, and the pastor explained the ordinance( the acts that God ordered) that went along with this most precious representation of the body and blood of Christ. It was most powerful. 1 Corinthians 11:26  For as often as ye eat this bread, and drink this cup, ye do shew the Lord's death till he come.

God Can Hear You

Psalms 66 :17-19 I cried to him(God) with my mouth and he was lifted up by my tongue. But if I had thought of him not hearing or hearing as iniquity in my heart, the lord would not hear. But certainly God has heard me. He has attended to the voice of my prayer.
God does hear what is in your heart, just as David says in the verses above. God knows the truth. If David would have not humbled himself when asking for God's ear. God surely would have known things were not right with David. It is so true today as it was yesterday. Stay humble, it does not hurt at all to be so. God sees all. He knows your ups and downs. Your ins and outs. Humble yourself before him. He will stand on his promises to you most definitely.

To Rise And Shine

There are times when our spirits are not as fulfilled as could be. We work hard. We play hard. We live hard. What other way do most know? If we stop to think about it, the more we do the less gets done. We have fallen by the wayside when it comes to putting in the "hard work " to raise our children. We as a society tend to hide the sick and elderly. As long as they are not seen the less guilty some feel. It is time we all stepped up to the plate to literally Rise and Shine. Our society suffers. The morals and values take second, even third to vanity, greed, gluttony in this world.

Psalms 37:3 Trust in the LORD and do good; dwell in the land and enjoy safe pasture.

When The Enemy Comes At You

It is hard for some to see the signs and know when evil rares its ugly head. And like most it is always blamed on something or someone other then who and what it really is. Many not realizing that the whole pretext of blame, of things going wrong is to take the focus off of who and what really initiates these terrible things. When the world seems upside down this is the design of the enemy. To have you so twisted and upset you cannot see up from down. This is when we have to pause, take a breath and pray deeply to God. Thank God for all that he has done for you. Ask for favor. Pray that the hedge of protection stays around you. And ask for the angels to go before you to clear the righteous path for you to walk on. 2 Samuel 22:3-4 The God of my rock; in him will I trust: he is my shield, and the horn of my salvation, my high tower, and my refuge, my savior; thou saved me from violence. I will call on the LORD, who is worthy to be praised: so shall I be saved from mine enemies.

No Not One

In life there is more then one answer to any problem. The masses usually get stuck with the answer that is the loudest. Or shown the most. Or most popular. I beg to differ here. There is a big difference when you think first. Do not be led down the path not knowing where the path may lead you. It is so important to see the signs. It is so important to know who to trust. The first being God, then yourself. I put my life in no ones hands other then the man above. So yes, No Not One is why we are all individuals. And God gave us the ability to think and act accordingly. Proverbs 29:2 When the righteous increase, the people rejoice, But when a wicked man rules, people groan.

I Pray To The Lord My Soul Do Keep

Now I lay me down to sleep, I pray to the lord my soul do keep was the beginning of a prayer that we used to recite as children.  Although the prayer was part of our childhoods, these words ring true today. I want God to watch over my soul at all times.  There are so many "things" out there in the world that really boil down to the concept that Good vs Evil is at an all time high. It is packaged very well (evil) these days. Which makes Good  a great but rare commodity. When it (Good) is around, people in need of it(Good) flock around. However Good can draw the opposite and that is where that children's prayer comes in. As an adult I still recite it. I want Gods protection while I sleep and while I am awake. Psalms 31:1-24 In you, O Lord, do I take refuge; let me never be put to shame; in your righteousness deliver me! Incline your ear to me; rescue me speedily! Be a rock of refuge for me, a strong fortress to save me! For you are my rock and my fortress; and for your name's sake you lead me and guide me; you take me out of the net they have hidden for me, for you are my refuge. Into your hand I commit my spirit; you have redeemed me, O Lord, faithful God.

The Strength Of A Warrior

It is hard for some to see a soldier other then the ones portrayed in pictures or perhaps loved ones deployed in "military" services and wars. To them goes much honor. And as they(soldiers) sign their lives away I cannot help but think of the creed and motto of a soldier/warrior. To give ones life to the  cause helping mankind for justice and freedom for all. To bend or bow to no one other then God. To have the strength and heart of a lion. A warrior walks the walk and talks the talk. There is nothing weak about a warrior. He or she serves no one but  love of his or her fellow man. God has placed many warriors on this earth. It is up to them(the warriors) to continue the crusade. To follow the path of righteousness.  To live and love like no other. To carry the strength that God gave them through out their lives.
Psalms 18:31-36 For who is God, but the LORD? And who is a rock, except our God?The God who equipped me with strength and made my way blameless. He made my feet like the feet of a deer and set me secure on the heights. He trains my hands for war, so that my arms can bend a bow of bronze. You have given me the shield of your salvation, and your right hand supported me, and your gentleness made me great. You gave a wide place for my steps under me, and my feet did not slip.

Living With The Guilt Or Moving On

There are many who walk among us who have such a heavy burden weighing on them. They walk around either in total denial. Or covering it so deep, they think that it is unrecognizable to others. Here's the thing. Guilt usually leads to shame. Shame usually leads to depression. Depression usually leads to anger. And anger leads to an all bad outcome. It almost takes a divine intervention to rid oneself of these layers that have been piled up so long. No human can withstand this devastation without harmful repercussions. It is truly something that must be recognized from within. And dealt with. God ask that we lay our burdens on him and let them go. Practice everyday, every minute if necessary.  It takes a long time to bury such a emotion, it will take time to get through the layers. Can you imagine how God felt with Adam and Eve? He gave them everything they could ever ask for, and they still did what they did in the garden of Eden. God must have felt a little guilt himself. Nobody is perfect, we do the very best we can to over come and deal with life's hand as it is dealt to us.
Psalm 46:1-3,7 God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear, though the earth should change and though the mountains slip into the heart of the sea; though its waters roar and foam, though the mountains quake at its swelling pride. Selah. The LORD of hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our stronghold. Selah.

Leave Well Enough Alone

It takes a very intuitive person to know when and how to leave well enough alone. To know when to except what is to be it is to be. Can you imagine Jesus knowing that he would be killed, but had to fulfill and live out his destiny? It was inevitable that he die. You have to think that he could have changed things if he wanted to. But instead he left well enough alone. Sometimes in life we have to leave well enough alone. Do not force an outcome. Let God do what it is he does. Except things for what they are. Enjoy life for where it is. Above all do not let (interference) change your course of life. Our steps are already ordered. We need to listen. The Comos is such a vast place. If we stop and listen we will be so much better.
Mark 4:24 And he said to them, “Pay attention to what you hear: with the measure you use, it will be measured to you, and still more will be added to you.

Stay In Tune

It is so refreshing to wake to the sound of birds. When you hear their song you know that you are alive. If their song was not heard the thought would be either I am no longer of this earth or the end (the world as we know it )is near. It sounds Apocalyptic, I know but it is so important to stay in tune with oneself, with others, and with God. We should learn to recognize the signs of others suffering, of others in need of an encouraging word. We should listen for that baby crying from hunger. We should place ourselves second to none but second to many. A charitable heart, a mind filled with wisdom, a mouth that holds back with unkind and unthoughtful words. Yes, we must stay in tune. God always does. Psalms 34:17 The righteous cry out, and the LORD hears them; he delivers them from all their troubles.

Smoke Screens & Mirrors

There are some who walk through life that put the front up that they are faithful and totally believe in God and all that he has done and will fall off the wagon of faith when times get really rough. Instead of calling for God in their time of need they rely on their own skills and what ever they know. That is not what should happen when the smoke screens and mirrors show up from out of the blue. God Psalms 116:1 should definitely be called upon. He is the only one that has the power to move that cat of the way. I love the LORD, for he heard my voice; he heard my cry for mercy.

It Is So Important To Have A Listening Heart

There are so many people on the brink of no return. It could be your soft words and listening ears that can change that persons life. It really does pay to take the I/me out of the equation to hear what someone else has to say. It most often does not require you to say or do anything just listen with an empathetic ear. God does this for us. All we have to do is talk to him. He definitely listens with a sympathetic and empathetic ear.

There Are Many Interpertations

The Bible was written well after most in it were dead and gone. There are many who base their religious beliefs on specific doctrine which proclaim to have biblical based rules and regulations. What has to be remembered is this, during the time of Jesus and even before him, (the Jewish prophets etc. etc) there was no Bible. Ideas, experiences, speeches, miracles, healing, martyrs, all stories of these things were passed down by word of mouth. The Torah (Jewish laws) were in writing before the Bible. The whole reason there was such dissension during the days of Jesus and his disciples was that there was to be inclusion of all people in the loving and praising of God. Where as the Jewish doctrine claimed that only the Jewish people had the love of God and that the written laws of the Torah must be followed. So the uprising begun. But still there was no Bible. This came so much later. And only came about by way of a copulation of handed down stories from secs of religious fanatics. The Bible is intended purposely to be interpreted by all. What one should walk away with is God's expectation of us is based on love, faith, sacrifice, humbleness, charity. That is all. There is no pomp and circumstance. There are no flying banners. There are no animal sacrifices. None of that is required to love God and he you.

Because of the LORD’s great love we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail. They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness. I say to myself, “The LORD is my portion; therefore I will wait for him.” The LORD is good to those whose hope is in him, to the one who seeks him.

A Soft Answer Turns Away Wrath

There are many angry people that walk this planet. And that anger may be something that has festered for years. Many times angry people lash out at anyone who is in their path. It is an emotion God gave us and he gave it to us for a reason. Our minds are capable of so much. We use just 1/10 of it. If we were capable and did use our brain at it's full capacity, we would have to stop and take a pause. That is where our emotions come in. They(emotions)  range from happy to sad not to exclude anger. Here's what the wisest of men wrote (King Solomon) Proverbs 15:1-2 A soft answer turns away wrath. But harsh words stirs up anger. The tongue of the wise uses knowledge rightly. But the mouth of fools pours forth foolishness.

The Closing Of Doors

It is so hard sometimes to face "rejection". When something that we really, really wanted and we truly gave it all that we had, should with no doubt be ours. Unfortunately it does not always work out that way. And our human psyche takes it very hard. We consider it a failure. It takes tremendous faith in God to accept that our destiny is in his hands and that he sees the big picture. And that God knows what is behind all doors. What we must come to the conclusion in the matter of "rejection" is that it was not meant to be. There was a reason for this door to remain closed. It takes a lot to realize this. It is not rejection at all, it is protection. God loves us. We need to put our faith and trust in him. No matter what it is.  There is nothing wrong with saying "God this looks bad to me, but in you I put my total faith and trust" I know God that you Got This!

Such A Loving God

God is so good all the time. It is so nice to have a relationship with God. Although the devil hates it with a passion. And often test you to see if your faith falters. It is up to us to read the signs, to know when we can call the devil a liar. To know when God shows us that he is in our corner and he would never leave or forsake us. Jesus died on the cross for the sins of man. The least we can do is acknowledge such a sacrifice and always remember to give praise and thanks to God almighty.
                                2 Corinthians 9:11-12
You will be made rich in every way so that you can be generous on every occasion, and through us your generosity will result in thanksgiving to God.  This service that you perform is not only supplying the needs of God's people but is also overflowing in many expressions of thanks to God.

Do Not Be Of This World

Proverbs 24:1 Do not envy wicked men, do not desire their company. If you look all around us, you see a lot of greed, selfishness, gluttony, vanity, envy, laziness(sloth),lust(sex). To some this is normal. To those of us who are familiar with God's laws these are of the seven deadly sins. These things are treated here in this world as though they should be part of the fabric of mankind. No this is not what God had in mind. All that we can do in a world filled with such ugliness is pray for our souls(because none of us are perfect). Jesus died on the cross to do that very thing(save our souls). We can live life as humbly as we can. We can give from our hearts. And continue to teach and lead by example. Again we are by no means perfect. We just do the best we can. Amen

Our Father Who Art In Heaven

Many of us recited this prayer as we went to church or Sunday school. I can admittedly say I just memorized it (Matthew6 :9-13) without taking note of any meaning. The writer of this most famous prayer was declaring their presence in the vast Kingdom of God. The writer alluded to walking through hell basically. And also made it known that none would be possible without the protection and love of God.

After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name.
Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.
 Give us this day our daily bread.
 And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.
 And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen

Ponder The Path Of Your Feet

God wants you to think about where you are at all times. Be weary of slippery slopes. Always know that if it is accomplished and gained too easy, there is something more to it. What is before you can have so many hidden loop holes and could cost you dearly. Make it a habit, practice to visit your heart. Listen to that sixth sense. Know yourself.

Feed The Hungry

 Matthew 12:1-6
 At that time Jesus went on the sabbath day through the corn; and his disciples were  hungry, and began to pluck the ears of corn and to eat. But when the Pharisees saw it, they said unto him, Behold, thy disciples do that which is not lawful to do upon the sabbath day.But he said unto them, Have ye not read what David did, when he was  hungry, and they that were with him; How he entered into the house of God, and did eat the special bread, which was not lawful for him to eat, neither for them which were with him, but only for the priests? Or have ye not read in the law, how that on the sabbath days the priests in the temple profane the sabbath, and are blameless?But I say unto you, That in this place is one greater than the temple.
  In this text it shows how hypocritical the Rabbi's and Priest of the day were. They were staunch and always played by the rules or so they thought. Jesus called them out on it. If one is hungry feed them, no matter the rule. If your pantry has food feed the poor. If you have but a grain of wheat, share it. The rules that matter are the rules of charity and humbleness. These rules are what we live by as God's children.

Save Me God For I Sink Into Deep Waters

There are times when you may feel so alone. So buried. So burdened. So overwhelmed. A well known King back in the day often times felt such a way. Things were so bad for him he just had to come with song and praise to God. He had no where else to turn. His example can help some of us today. When we are so inundated with every day stress and strain we need to stop and take a breath. We must remember this too shall pass. God does have it. It may not be when you want it, but it will always be right on time. Stay in faith. Do not lose sight of hope. Still give from your heart. Look to the Lord for strength. Amen
Psalms 69:14 Deliver me out of the mire and let me not sink. Let me be delivered from those who hate me, and out of the deep waters.

Let The Weak Say I Am Strong

This is what God says in the book of Joel. When end times come about, he as he always has brings the ones that have been seen as the lowly to the fore front. This is something that you see throughout the Bible. Jesus came to speak  to and include the gentiles. Paul made sure that everyone be included in the churches of old. In studied terms this is called The Great Inversion. It always turns the foreseen "bad" into "good". This brings me to this point. Man and woman tend to think that most people think like he or she. This is a misconception that leads to many a disagreement or misunderstanding. We are all different. We should not assume anything of our fellow man. Treat one another on the laurels that one presents. There will be one judge and he will base his thinking on what comes from the heart. Thus God's words: Joel 3:16 But the Lord will be a shelter for his people and the strength of the children of Israel.

In God's Eyes

Ecclesiastes 3:11 He has made everything beautiful in its time. He has also set eternity in the hearts of men; yet they cannot fathom what God has done from beginning to end.
In God's eyes he has given us everything we need. Some do not see that at all. There are so many unclean spirits overlooking the Godliness that is required when the end comes. There will be so many caught up. Their greed and money will not be able to save them. Their overlooking the poor and down trodden will be the biggest sin of them all. To not hold humbleness in one's heart is a mighty weapon against ones self. This world that we live in has been so self destructive it is a wonder that there are any left that knows what is expected of them. We have to pray for God to see the goodness and righteousness of some. We have to pray for those that do not see.  For their suffering will be heard throughout the earth.

Lord Deliver Me In Your Righteousness

To be humble can be the most challenging of all of God's requirements. Not many can take off their pride. Not many can sacrifice of themselves. Not many can give their last of the last.  It takes strength and a good and gracious heart to fulfill this most loving law. 1 Peter 5:6 Humble yourselves, therefore, under God's mighty hand, that he may lift you up in due time. Many of the ancient prophets showed humbleness and humility. It was a strength rather then a weakness. We should try very hard in life to come from this. To be humble is a characteristic not unbecoming but of beauty. It (humbleness) shines through your personality. It gives an honor far beyond what you could imagine. Pride and vanity are deadly. And will be the downfall of many. Choose to be humble in your daily activity. Let your pride go by the wayside. You will be praised in God's eyes for doing so.

Persue Godliness

1Timothy 6:19 In this way they will lay up treasure for themselves as a firm foundation for the coming age, so that they may take hold of the life that is truly life.
This verse says it all. If we make it a commitment to be the best we could be. To be kind to one another. To give from our hearts. And know that God is committed to us. And is always working behind the scenes to lift us up. To provide our blessings. For us to acknowledge him. And to make Godliness the foundation of our lives. We will be truly blessed for choosing this path rather then another to live by daily.
