I Pray To The Lord My Soul Do Keep

Now I lay me down to sleep, I pray to the lord my soul do keep was the beginning of a prayer that we used to recite as children.  Although the prayer was part of our childhoods, these words ring true today. I want God to watch over my soul at all times.  There are so many "things" out there in the world that really boil down to the concept that Good vs Evil is at an all time high. It is packaged very well (evil) these days. Which makes Good  a great but rare commodity. When it (Good) is around, people in need of it(Good) flock around. However Good can draw the opposite and that is where that children's prayer comes in. As an adult I still recite it. I want Gods protection while I sleep and while I am awake. Psalms 31:1-24 In you, O Lord, do I take refuge; let me never be put to shame; in your righteousness deliver me! Incline your ear to me; rescue me speedily! Be a rock of refuge for me, a strong fortress to save me! For you are my rock and my fortress; and for your name's sake you lead me and guide me; you take me out of the net they have hidden for me, for you are my refuge. Into your hand I commit my spirit; you have redeemed me, O Lord, faithful God.
