The Great Day Of The Lord

As most of you know God did a lot of his talking through prophets. This of course is the time before Jesus, when God had a one on one relationship with man. One of those prophets name was Zephaniah. Who was of the son of Cushi who's family had ties to the King of Judah Amon. So Zephaniah receives a direct message from God. God is angry and threatens to destroy everything. He tells the prophet this throughout the chapter. But as he continues in his anger he starts winding down a bit and describes how he will bring it all back as if nothing ever happened. What God wants understood is that he has the power to wipe everything out to start all over again. However through Jesus we have been given a pass so far. We must consider ourselves loved and blessed by the father the son and the holy spirit.
Psalm 46:1-3,7 God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear, though the earth should change and though the mountains slip into the heart of the sea; though its waters roar and foam, though the mountains quake at its swelling pride. Selah. The LORD of hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our stronghold. Selah.
