The Power Comes From Within

When we are growing into our young adult years we never really thought about getting older and how things would be for us. Some when looking back lead normal lives, if you want to call it that. They played sports, hung around the popular crowds. etc,etc. And then there were those who did understood that what is done on the inside will eventually show on the outside. It is nice to see someone after years who hadn't changed much. It is the opposite if you see someone who struggled and looks so much older then they should. In the spiritual word the same theory applies. If you understood from the beginning Gods expectations and you lived them out, it shows in the way you carry yourself. On the other hand if you have not lived a life with God in it you literally look and act like hell.

1John 4:7

Dear friends, let us love one another, for love comes from God. Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God.

Where There Is A Will There Is A Way

How many times has it seemed like everything that could go wrong does go wrong? With us being human we can only get ultra frustrated when this happens. What I have found as a calming effect is to stop right where I am. Stand still and say to myself "Devil you are a liar, Jesus is my savior and I am covered in the blood" Things seem to straighten out then. If we don't do this, the problems just keep on compounding and some people over react, which the enemy is very comfortable watching you do. It is almost as if he gets you to that point and leaves you there to suffer. Do Not Fall For It! Practice Prayer. It works.

Matthew 4:10 Jesus said to him, "Away from me, Satan! For it is written: 'Worship the Lord your God, and serve him only.'"

Give Unconditionally

It is hard sometime to understand why there are people out there who give with conditions. Jesus gave of himself in the ultimate way. He died on the cross suffering for us(mankind). God gave his only son knowing that he will suffer and die for us (mankind). Both gave with out any conditions at all. When you give from your heart. There are no conditions. All though we as men and women sometimes do (attach conditions). When giving with conditions it forfeits the charity that is expected of a true person of God. When we give of our hearts it is to do so without conditions. What ever you give it will come back two fold.

Romans 5:8 But God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.

Faith, Charity, and Hope

Faith is the supreme trust that you have in someone. Charity is one's giving nature. And hope leaves open that anything is possible. If we pride our selves in these three things, we will live the life that God will smile upon. But the most important thing in all of the requirements that God looks at for you to enter into the kingdom is love.

1Corinthians: 13:13 Three things will last forever--faith, hope, and love--and the greatest of these is love.

The Question Is Why?

The book of Matthew in the new testament has the best discriptive stories of Jesus and his challenges with the Hebrew "Rock Stars " of the day. The pharisees, the high priest, and even his own disciples. Jesus' teaching style was often critized because he spoke in parables. Which means he told a story to make his point. Through out this whole chapter you will find the parable teachings of Christ. On one occasion the disciples asked Jesus, "Teacher, why do you speak in parables"?

Matthew 13:11-15
He replied, because the knowledge of the secrets of the kingdom of heaven has been given to you, but not to them.  Whoever has will be given more, and they will have an abundance. Whoever does not have, even what they have will be taken from them. This is why I speak to them in parables:
Though seeing, they do not see; though hearing, they do not hear or understand.
 In them is fulfilled the prophecy of Isaiah:You will be ever hearing but never understanding;  you will be ever seeing but never perceiving. For this people’s heart has become calloused;  they hardly hear with their ears and they have closed their eyes.Otherwise they might see with their eyes,  hear with their ears,  and understand with their heart and turn, and I would heal them.

Silent Prayers Go A Long Way

Some body asked me one time,"can you teach me how to pray"? I looked at this person with a very puzzled look, because this person had grown up in the "church". I asked my self "teach you how to pray, what"? Then my mind thought back to when I was a little girl. We were not "raised " in the church. We could go if we wanted to but we were not forced. I used to look around at the people and wondered what they were doing with their eyes closed. I did not know that they were expecting to be praying to God and asking him for what they needed. Asking God for protection. Asking God to send his angles out to open doors for them. They were suppose to be praying for forgiveness and repenting of their sins.  Of course the man standing in the front of the church was actually leading the prayer. I suppose saying it for all those people who had their eyes closed. I learned later in life that I did not need anyone to lead a prayer for me. Through the years, I learned by trial and error what prayer actually entailed. And that talking to God was not rocket science. You just speak from your heart, which ever way you feel comfortable in doing. There is no limitations to prayer at all. You can pray as often as you'd like. You can pray as loud as you'd like or you can pray silently if you like. God hears you no matter what.

Psalm 116:1-2 I love the LORD because he hears and answers my prayers. 2 Because he bends down and listens, I will pray as long as I have breath

There's No Place Like The Comfort Of Gods Arms

Have you ever been awakened by a dream, one that seemed like you were falling? Of course in the dream you were falling but you never hit the bottom. It seems as though something caught you or woke you up. That to me was God. Or perhaps you were dreaming and you felt like something was sitting on your chest and you were fighting and gasping for air. In both scenarios it seemed so real, you could not help waking up a little shaken. My theory on that is when this takes place we should immediately call on God. God thank you for waking me. God thank you for wrapping me in your arms. Lord I praise your name on high. That is how I would approach it. Some just shake it off. Go back to sleep and chalk it up to a bad dream
Ecclesiastes 5:7 For in many dreams and in many words there is emptiness. Rather, fear God.

The Value Of Wisdom

Proverbs 2:10-15 When wisdom enters in your heart, and knowledge is pleasant unto your soul. Discretion shall preserve you, understanding shall keep you.  To deliver you from the way of the evil man, from the man that speaks evil things from those who leave the paths of uprightness, to walk in the ways of darkness; Who rejoice to do evil, and delight in the frowardness of the wicked; Whose ways are crooked, and they froward in their paths.

Logic, Passion, and Ethics are all part of wisdom and understanding.

It Is Not What You Say It Is How You Say It

It is said that you can speak something into existence. I agree. However unless you are trained from a young age, like a pianist destined to be a concert great, you may get it wrong more so then you get it right. The key is to continue to practice. Think before you say something. What I have learned in public speaking is that when a question is presented to you or you get thrown off your mark. Take a minute, gather your thoughts. There is nothing wrong with pausing to avert a disaster or negative reaction from what you have said rather what you could have said.  In the Bible there were so many times Paul misspoke, because he failed to understand his audience. He offended many. He learned to say things in a different way after much practice. It takes time to retrain yourself to do so. All you can do is keep trying. Ask forgiveness and get it right the first time.

Philippians 3:13 Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before,

It Is The Truth That Sets Us Free

When it comes to truth there are some that face it head on. No matter if it is personal and it hurts to hear it. There are others that deny, never face, and put up a big defensive strategy to hide from it (the truth). There is nothing wrong with admitting the truth, but some are conditioned to do so because it will hurt them or someone else. In some cases it does hurt the other party. But what is worst to leave them hanging or to let them face the challenge? Some are very automate about not disclosing this or that. Here's the thing, God sees what is in your heart. The devil plays on the deceit and the lies and when those things are exposed he stands there laughing and leaves you hanging out to die. So remember next time as hard as it is try telling the truth, facing the truth and hearing the truth. It can be painful yes, but you will get over it.

Romans 2:6-9 [God] will render to every man according to his deeds: to them who by patient continuance in well doing seek for glory and honor and immortality, eternal life: but unto them that are contentious, and do not obey the truth, but obey unrighteousness, indignation, and wrath, tribulation and anguish, upon every soul of man that does evil; of the Jew first, and also of the Gentile.

What Really Matters

 It is becoming more apparent as the days go by what is really relevant to our daily survival and what truly isn't. When you get down to it it boils down to needs as opposed to wants.As well as your relationship with your loved ones and God. Along with nature and the environment that we live in. Nothing else matters. The who's doing what to who in real life or on the "reality shows"means nothing compared to living the way God wants us to live. LIFE is what matters and how you live it.
 Ecclesiastes 12:12-13
The end of the matter; all has been heard. Fear God and keep his commandments, for this is the whole duty of man. For God will bring every deed into judgment, with every secret thing, whether good or evil.

Being The Rock

It takes a power higher then us to change what seems to be impossible. When we are dealing with life's everyday challenges and the people that present them, it is such a great feeling to know that God has everything we need up and including the words that we speak. We must remain steadfast in our faith. We must never waiver and if we feel that we are or that there is something preventing us from receiving Gods blessing. We need to call on him and he and his angels will help place you on that rock higher then I.

Psalm 18:2
The LORD is my rock, my fortress and my deliverer; my God is my rock, in whom I take refuge. He is my shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold.

Listen To That Whisper

Often times we as humans get a feeling through what some call a sixth sense. The feeling that something is just not right. Or you've seem to have heard or seen something before. It's in this same sensory skill set that you may receive that whisper from God. That maybe be re-affirmed by a song or something that someone says. Call it intuition. Call it sixth sense or just call it happenstance. What ever you call it, it is well worth listening to. It can sometimes be the difference between life and death. We have to be able to stay in tune with that unseen treasure. God did give it to us as a warning system, a think before you do system. And the more that it is with us the better we should get at listening to that whisper.

Isiah 30:20-21 Although the Lord gives you the bread of adversity and the water of affliction, your teachers will be hidden no more; with your own eyes you will see them. Whether you turn to the right or to the left, your ears will hear a voice behind you, saying, "This is the way; walk in it."

Love , Pain And Passion

 Ecclesiastes 3:1-8

To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven:
 A time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is planted;
 A time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to break down, and a time to build up;
 A time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance;
A time to cast away stones, and a time to gather stones together; a time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing;
 A time to get, and a time to lose; a time to keep, and a time to cast away;
 A time to rend, and a time to sew; a time to keep silence, and a time to speak;
 A time to love, and a time to hate; a time of war, and a time of peace.

These Bible verses are pretty self explanatory.

The Art Of Forgiveness

How many times has someone said something to you in anger that you thought that person had forgotten about. You thought that apologies or actions would have been enough for that person to get over the hurt or sting of the situation. This is where we on either the receiving end or giving of the hurt or sting need to realize that if we do not forgive the person we will hold and harbor those feelings for a long time. It is especially harmful when these feelings are held in as you get older. The stress and strain on your body, mind and soul are unforgiving. It takes a toll. What it takes is to actually release that hurt. Release that pain. Let it come out. Forgive that person and understand that in different places and times the who what and where can be forgotten but the why is the thing that we hold on to. If that person is still on the planet it might be a good thing to ask them. If they aren't available perhaps write a letter, place it in a bottle, release it into the ocean. Record a message to that person. The best thing to do is to pray about it and give it to God, and never pick it back up again.

2 Corinthians 5:17
Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away, behold, all things have become new.”

If Ever There Was A Time To Come Together

If ever there was a time to come together there would be a couple things that come to mind. Weddings being one. Graduations being another. And death being the most trying. This is when emotions that consist of pain, agony, loss, and hurt come out. There are some who get through this with God's grace & mercy and some that act out that raw emotion. Which can easily engulf a grieving person. It is so easy for the enemy to rear its ugly head specifically at this time. Going to God with a powerful prayer so that this can be prevented is the answer.

Matthew 5:4 Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted.
John 14:1-3 Let not your hearts be troubled. Believe in God; believe also in me. In my Father’s house are many rooms. If it were not so, would I have told you that I go to prepare a place for you?And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and will take you to myself, that where I am you may be also.

There Is Nothing More Powerful Than A Mothers Prayer

Dear God
 There is a real need right now for you to intercede. This is a time when I as a mother am going to ask that you put all of the strength that you could muster to hold these sons and daughters up. Time is but a wink to you. But there are lives down here that have been the strength for some. If that strength is taken away there will be a tremendous void. Send your angels father to undo this damage. Send your angels to heal the open wounds. Keep the peace and calm in the eye of the storm. Do not let Satan in now in this time of need. He has no power here. You make sure that is to be. There is too much to deal with in this stressful time to have Satan act his ungodly way. Sending up prayers father to hold these children up. And that all be covered in the blood, the mighty blood of Jesus. Please know that this is all said in the name of the father the son and the holy spirit. Amen

Todays Wars Are No Different Then Yesterdays

If you look at the news you see glimpses of some of the "discourse" on foreign soils. And some look at this in shock and awe.

During the times of the Greeks, Romans and others war was a constant. In one of the missing/hidden books of the Apocrypha are several chapters relating to these wars Maccabees were the champion army that kept the Greeks who thought they were superior to all in check. It seems that there is always a bully in war. The basic reason for fighting is someone wants to take something from the other. So wars have always been and it looks like they will always be until the end of time. The unfortunate part is that a lot of people die in war. We will have to live with that. We can pray for those engaging and those who are victims.

Matthew 24:6-7 And you will hear of wars and rumors of wars. See that you are not alarmed, for this must take place, but the end is not yet. For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom, and there will be famines and earthquakes in various places.

I Send Watchman Over You

During the times of old it seemed that when God spoke directly to the tribes, they did not listen and you see how God was affected by this.

 Jeremiah 6:17-20
I appointed watchmen over you and said listen to the sound of the trumpet. But you said, we will not listen.Therefore hear this you nations. You who are witnesses, observe what will happen to them.  Hear, you earth I am bringing disaster on these people because of the fruit of their schemes.Because they have not listened to my word. And rejected my law.What do I care about incense from Sheba or sweet calamus from a distant land? Your burnt offerings are not acceptablee your sacrifices do not please me.
This God said because the people kept messing up. Can you imagine? The people did not have to want for anything. Spoiled to the max. And there you have it, God got angry and told them what would happen to them. God does this so many times in the old testament. He finally shakes his head and says he has to do something different. And this is where Christ comes in. And is made to suffer horribly because God knew we as men and women would sin over and over again.

Verses From The Apocrypha (Missing Books)

Before Christianity became what it is today. There was Greek philosophy. There was Jewish Law. There was Idolatry. And many things in between. When the documentation of the Canonical Bible was scribed the powers to be left some of the "controversial" books out. There are Bibles in print that have replaced some of the missing writings. There are more out there and more I am sure to be discovered. One of these books of the Apocrypha, is called the Wisdom Of Solomon.
Wisdom of Solomon 1:6 For Wisdom is a kindly spirit, but will not free blasphemers from the guilt of their words. Because God is witness to their inmost feelings, and a true observer of their hearts and the hearer of their tongues.
So just because you may be given the spirit of wisdom, does not necessarily free you of speaking against God. The thing that is seen but unseen by God is the innermost spirit. The heart if you will. If your intention is detrimental and you use your wisdom in a perverse way, you will not go unpunished. We are human, we will become angry at injustice. We will harbor judgement against others. We will be forgiven for this. Verse 12-14 say Do not invite death by error of your life, or bring on destruction by the works of your hands. Because God did not make death and he does not delight in the death of the living. For he (God) created all things so that they might exist. That the generative forces of the world are wholesome. And there is no destructive poison in them and the dominion of Hades(hell) is not on earth.

What Is Wisdom?

Ecclesiastes 7:11-14 Wisdom is like an inheritance. It is a good thing and benefits those who see the sun. Wisdom is a shelter as money is a shelter, but the advantage of knowledge is this:Wisdom preserves those who have it. Consider what God has done: Who can straighten what he has made crooked?  When times are good, be happy; but when times are bad, consider this: God has made the one as well as the other. Therefore no one can discover anything about their future.
Wisdom makes one wise person more powerful than ten rulers in a city.
 Indeed, there is no one on earth who is righteous, no one who does what is right and never sins.
So to ask God for wisdom is the thing to do. However as stated above you cannot be too wise, it turns on you. You must be wise with understanding.

Life Support

God gives us the blueprint to live your life to the best of our abilities. The peaks and valleys  of our lives should always end with this question: " God what would you have me do?" God is always ready to answer. He recalculates for us. He provides us with guidance. If you commune everyday with the Lord and I mean not just lip service. Not just appearing to pray. But literally releasing the depths of our souls to God, he hears you, he sees you. He forgives you. Gods mission is to fulfill the request of that door that you asked to be opened. God is the answer to your seeking and finding. He has an army of angels just waiting to be called on. Have nothing but praise for God he has literally saves our lives everyday.

Ezekiel 11:19-20 I will give them an undivided heart and put a new spirit in them; I will remove from them their heart of stone and give them a heart of flesh.  Then they will follow my decrees and be careful to keep my laws. They will be my people, and I will be their God.

Each Has A Story

In reading the history behind the men that followed Jesus, I found that they were fanatical. They were quick tempered. Some had unfitting backgrounds. Some were grandfathered in(had a brother already in the click). They all died with the exception of one as martyrs. There were two that questioned Jesus all the time. And then there was the closest one to Jesus out of them all. Mary Magdalene who was said to have seven demons inside of her when she first met Jesus. Of course he got rid of them. It is said that Peter was the leader of the disciples but Mary was the one who knew everything that Jesus knew, felt and wanted to teach. So imagine these 14 people traveling from one city to another, healing people. Teaching differently then the teachers and preachers of the time. People who were loud and boisterous. Quick tempered. Imagine them in today's times. They would surely be considered a mob, a cult perhaps, radicals, terrorist. They would have a label other then a normal group of people who followed the present day leaders. I find it very interesting. That the Christian religion is based on such a radical difference from the laws that were taught at the time. They all died horrible deaths from their beliefs. But look at how many years the stories have survived. How Gods word through Jesus and his disciples have prevailed.

I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, saith the Lord, which is, and which was, and which is to come, the Almighty. Revelation 1:8

Have We Learned Anything?

Back when there was actually direct communication from God, the people had  no choice they had to hear it from God himself. There were no guessing games, as to how one was suppose to act.  Actions spoke louder then words. The people constantly went in the opposite direction. No respect, no faith. They actually acted like some of our children today. The children that we want to give everything to. Who end up to be spoiled and not mindful of the things that were given to them. Thus were the children of God then. To some extent that is how some act now. The thing that sets us apart from then as opposed to now, is Christ. Jesus interceded on mans behalf.

Rom. 8:3-4, "For what the Law could not do, weak as it was through the flesh, God did: sending His own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh and as an offering for sin, He condemned sin in the flesh. in order that the requirement of the Law might be fulfilled in us, who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit."

By Wisdom A House Is Built

Many go through life thinking if I only had a million dollars, I could do so many things. But in reality if you did not have the wisdom and understanding of what you have and what you should do with it. It matters not. You will waste, and do countless, thoughtless things. In the Bible you will find many a verse that places wisdom and understanding among the highest treasures you could be privied to. The value of wisdom, out weighs gold and silver.

Proverbs 24:3-7,14
By wisdom a house is built, and through understanding it is established; through knowledge its rooms are filled with rare and beautiful treasures. A wise man has great power, and a man of knowledge increases strength; for waging war you need guidance, and for victory many advisers.  Wisdom is too high for a fool; in the assembly at the gate he has nothing to say.
Know also that wisdom is sweet to your soul; if you find it, there is a future hope for you, and your hope will not be cut off.

A Good Name

 Proverbs 22:1-16
A good name is rather to be chosen than great riches,

and loving favor rather than silver and gold.
The rich and poor meet together:

the LORD is the maker of them all.
A prudent man foresees evil, and hides himself:

but the simple pass on, and are punished.
By humility and the fear of the LORD

are riches, and honor, and life.
Thorns and snares are in the way of the froward:

he that doth keep his soul shall be far from them.
Train up a child in the way he should go:

and when he is old, he will not depart from it.
The rich rule over the poor,

and the borrower is servant to the lender.
He that sows iniquity shall reap vanity:

and the rod of his anger shall fail.
He that hath a bountiful eye shall be blessed;

for he gives of his bread to the poor.
Cast out the scorner, and contention shall go out;

yea, strife and reproach shall cease.
He that loves pureness of heart,

for the grace of his lips the king shall be his friend.
The eyes of the LORD preserve knowledge;

and he  will overthrow the words of the transgressor.
The slothful (lazy) man says, there is a lion without,

I shall be slain in the streets.
The mouth of strange women is a deep pit:

he that is abhorred of the LORD shall fall therein.
Foolishness is bound in the heart of a child;

but the ways of correction shall drive it far from him.
He that oppress the poor to increase his riches,

and he that give to the rich,
shall surely come to want.

A True Friendship

In the bible you will find one of the most intense friendships put to a test. First you have Saul and David as best friends through out many a battle during the wars. But Saul, like a lot of people today put himself before God when God had asked him to do something,Saul found himself on the other side of God. Blatantly disobeying God. God took the King position from Saul  and made David King instead. It was on then. Saul turned very bitter towards David. He  went as far as trying to kill David. So sad. Because they both loved and respected each other up until that point. Not only that but David befriended Saul's son Jonathan which made Saul even more jealous. Jonathan and David were very good friends. David looked out for Jonathan up until his death. Friendship when it is unconditional last a life time.
Samuel 20:1-42
Then David fled from Naioth in Ramah and came and said before Jonathan, “What have I done? What is my guilt? And what is my sin before your father, that he seeks my life?” And he said to him, “Far from it! You shall not die. Behold, my father does nothing either great or small without disclosing it to me. And why should my father hide this from me? It is not so.” But David vowed again, saying, “Your father knows well that I have found favor in your eyes, and he thinks, ‘Do not let Jonathan know this, lest he be grieved.’ But truly, as the Lord lives and as your soul lives, there is but a step between me and death.” Then Jonathan said to David, “Whatever you say, I will do for you.” David said to Jonathan, “Behold, tomorrow is the new moon, and I should not fail to sit at table with the king. But let me go, that I may hide myself in the field till the third day at evening.

God's Awesome Power

It is amazing to me that so many believe that everything other then God is in control. We see it on the news. We hear people talking of it. We are shown by "natural disasters". We see it in nature. We see it in our relationships. We see it in life and death. We have to believe that God does have awesome power to control all things. If we don't we are among the lost wondering sheep.

Jeremiah 10:12

It is he who made the earth by his power,
who established the world by his wisdom,
and by his understanding stretched out the heavens.

If God Is For Us Who Can Be Against Us?

1 Peter 5:7
Let Him(God) have all your worries and cares, for He(God) is always thinking about you and watching everything that concerns you.

We can develop a habit they say after performing something for at least 120 days straight. If we pray from our hearts daily and ask God for favor he hears that. Where we mess up is not being consistent. We slip up. We let outside influences deter us from our paths. It is expected that we do this. Because we are sinners. But God is on our side always. Jesus Christ died for our very sins back then as well as now. We have to praise God always. We have to ask for forgiveness. We have to make good choices which can be enhanced by asking for wisdom and understanding. The enemy is the only one against us and we have the mechanism to avoid this. I used to love singing this song as a child "He's got the whole world in his hands," God truly does....

Philippians 4:6-7
Don't worry about anything; instead, pray about everything; tell God your needs, and don't forget to thank Him for His answers. If you do this, you will experience God's peace, which is far more wonderful than the human mind can understand. His peace will keep your thoughts and your hearts quiet and at rest as you trust in Christ.

When God Makes A Promise You Have To Trust And Believe

I cannot tell you the countless times that my blood pressure has risen. I break out in a cold sweat worried about something I should not be worried about. If I had faith in God like I should, I would not have a doubt. However, we are human and we will fail. That is why each time this happens, I ask Gods forgiveness, give him the praise and thank Jesus for making a way for a lowly sinner like me. I try my very best not to doubt and to continue to walk in faith. This I do with my daily prayer.

Psalm 67  May God be gracious to us and bless us and make his face to shine upon us, (Selah)  that your way may be known upon earth, your saving power among all nations.  Let the peoples praise you, O God; let all the peoples praise you.  Let the nations be glad and sing for joy, for you judge the peoples with equity and guide the nations upon earth. (Selah)  Let the peoples praise you, O God; let all the peoples praise you.  The earth has yielded its increase; God, our God, has blessed us.  May God continue to bless us; let all the ends of the earth revere him.
