Trials & Tribulations

Be more encouraged when times are rough. Be more in tuned with God. Do not succumb to the surrounding circumstances. There is a lesson to be learned by any and everything that you experience. So many fall away from God when they are being tested. No, we must do the opposite, run towards God as fast as we can. Continue to give. Continue to shout the Lords name. Continue to move in the spirit. God will not leave or forsake you. Trust and believe that with all your heart. Peace will come through those storms. Tranquility will reside where turmoil was. Our God is a steadfast God. His time is his. Not ours. Remember to keep you mind body and soul open for his signs. Your path is always lit. Stay on it.

Ecclesiastes 3:11 He hath made every thing beautiful in his time: also he hath set the world in their heart, so that no man can find out the work that God maketh from the beginning to the end.

True Devotion

How many times have we said to ourselves "Oh one day won't matter"? It can be one day not going to school or work. It could be one day not saying I love you. It could be one week not going to church. It could be one day without prayer. That one day can make the  difference in your life. When one devotes themselves to something. They do it persistently. They are tenacious. They never give up. As we go through our daily lives we must remember that God has never given up on us. He got angry. He let us see what it was to be without him. He gave up his son. Faith. Love and Devotion are all pleasing in Gods eyes.

Luke 1:37 For nothing is impossible with God.

Are We Crying Out?

Psalm 107:19-21
Then they cried to the Lord in their trouble, and he saved them from their distress; he sent out his word and healed them, and delivered them from destruction. Let them thank the Lord for his steadfast love, for his wonderful works to humankind.

The world today reflects the non-caring nature  men and women have. Because of so much greed, self destruction and Godlessness. It (the world) has gone to
"hell in a hand basket".  There are many who "come in the name of the father" who are wolves in sheep clothing. So much deception. Unruliness. You cannot help but to see the correlation with civilizations in the bible and our present times. They all ended up destroyed, gone, poof!
Our saving grace comes from not the physical but the spiritual. We have to believe and trust in the Lord with all of our hearts. This is not debatable. The bible does not say trust and believe in mankind. Trust in the Lord with all thine heart.

Romans 1:18-20
The wrath of God is being revealed from heaven against all the godlessness and wickedness of men who suppress the truth by their wickedness, 19 since what may be known about God is plain to them, because God has made it plain to them. 20 For since the creation of the world God's invisible qualities--his eternal power and divine nature--have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that men are without excuse.

Everything Has Relevance

Harmony. Full Circle. Yin Yang. These are terms that we associate to the way the universe incorporates life.  Revelation 1:8 I am the Alpha and the Omega," says the Lord God, "who is, and who was, and who is to come, the Almighty."

Nothing else has to be said except, we must find our way with the help of God to stay on the path. The path is a lighted one. Life lived well will see Gods plan as it unfolds. Count your blessings and know that there are many more in store.

Should We Question?

What happens when we give up on God? When the hurt stays within? Bitterness and Anger appear? Questions never get answered? Life does not seem to be fair. As a witness to tragedy and strife all of the time these very questions appear to some over and over again. It is easy for some to say "Where is Jesus and God now?" "If there is a God why did he let this happen?" "God what are the answers?" We have to learn to trust. Have faith. Yes, we grieve. And yes, we mourn. To tell the truth the only someone  powerful enough to ease that pain is God.

Ephesians 5:15-17
Be very careful, then, how you live—not as unwise but as wise, making the most of every opportunity, because the days are evil. Therefore do not be foolish, but understand what the Lord’s will is.

It Is What It Is

There are times in our lives when we come across a challenge that we want to change but it will not budge. No matter how many times we pray about it.  These are times when we have to think. We have to realize there is a lesson to be learned here. God does not make mistakes. Let us look at David and Saul's relationship. They started off as best friends. But when Saul was disobedient he fell out of God's grace. What did Saul do rather then except his down fall and his short comings? He blamed David and made him his enemy for the rest of his life. David was very hurt that he had been put in the position many times to "kill his enemy". But Saul wasn't David's enemy. Saul was his own enemy. And David had to accept that it is what it is. That his way of thinking did not change because, Sauls did. He still loved him. Gods love prevails. When we are grounded in the lord  we are given the light to see our paths. Some things do not change just because we want them to.
Psalms 100:5 For the LORD is good and his love endures forever; his faithfulness continues through all generations.

The Glory Is Where It Has Always Been

In our hustle and bustle of every day life, it seems quite appropriate to say a rushed prayer. Ask for favor and bounce out of the house, skipping to the beat of the proverbial drum. There is absolutely nothing wrong with that. However we have to know that what ever we put into something is what we are going to get out. Sometimes God needs us to pause, give up some of that precious time and just talk to him. The Glory and Mercy will always prevail. Nothing holds that back. Be mindful of your time. God makes time for you, do the same for him.

Sending Out Silent Prayers

It is so easy to get caught up in the "what about me" syndrome. Most of us sooner or later grasp onto reality that life isn't all about oneself. We have loved ones that we care about. There are those that are less fortunate. There are many fighting for their lives. In any of these scenarios it is important to lift them up in prayer. To give them that added support needed to get through their days. To put others first. Prayer helps tremendously.

God of all Creation, our life today is your gift to us.  Through devotion onto you, you invite us to be of service to others.  Be with us this day as we try to bring your presence through us to the world.  Give us the courage and generosity to respond to your call.  Give us hearts that love and seek your love; give us eyes that see the goodness in everyone.
In the good things that come our way today, God, we give your praise. In the things that are not so good, please deepen our  faith so that we may realize that you are forever within us.
We pray especially for those in need, the homeless, the starving, the sick, the dying, the disabled, the abused and their abusers, the victims of aggression, and those mourning the loss of a loved one. Have mercy and heal them. Let them awaken from ignorance and wrong thinking to Universal Law and Principles. Open all our minds and hearts so that we may build your kingdom here and now in what we think, say and do today and forever. And so it is. Amen

Forbidden Fruit

How many of us have eaten one too many candy bars? How many of us have looked at something online we should not be looking at? How many of us have taken that second glance at a passerby knowing good and well we shouldn't have? How many of us have taken a bite of the proverbial forbidden fruit? If there is someone within the reach of this blog who has not. Or is in denial. Prayers go out to you. We are human beings. We fall from grace everyday. The "church" leaders of today are up against tremendous pressure to stay in good graces of God and their congregations. But they are human too. They all fall short. We are to do our very best to avoid pitfalls. Avoid doing the wrong thing according to the laws of God. However, when we fail, by confessing our sins. Repenting. Asking for forgiveness, it paves our way to Gods heart. Jesus died for our sins, our guilt, our shame. It is through him that we are saved. No, we are not to purposely go out and create havoc, do the wrong thing. The credibility lies in us doing the right thing in Gods eyes.

Corinthians 10:13 No temptation has overtaken you that is not common to man. God is faithful, and he will not let you be tempted beyond your ability, but with the temptation he will also provide the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it.

It Is Really Simple As....

Religions practices have reached  a feverish pitch. There are too many this and that's in worshiping God. This kind of thing is what brought Jesus to us in the first place. When he walked this earth the Jewish people were the "chosen ones" and you had the supreme hierarchy that "judged" who can worship and who can't. No way said Jesus. You clowns/hypocrites have taken this too far. The same thing is going on today. We have to recognize that Gods appreciation is simple. No pomp and circumstance.
Hebrews 13:15 By him therefore let us offer the sacrifice of praise to God continually, that is, the fruit of our lips giving thanks to his name.
Just believe. Have Faith. Work within your means and know God has your back. Trust in that. Keep it simple.

Does The Struggle Ever End?

The struggle never ends. Does it get easier to bare? Yes. God takes the burden off of our shoulders if we let him. Most of the time we pick it up again, because we think that we can handle what ever it is. Not realizing that once we give it to God faith plays such a role. Jesus had to constantly remind his disciples about faith.

Matthew 8:26 He replied, "You of little faith, why are you so afraid?" Then he got up and rebuked the winds and the waves, and it was completely calm.

We have to remain vigilant when it comes to prayer, to keeping the faith. God is bigger then we think. He can do all things.

The Evil One

The enemy can come at you obtusely, subtly, or just plain nasty and out there. It is up to us to know the signs. Take what ever hint there is if there is one and get God right on it. Some may dismiss them (the signs). It usually becomes a full blown attack from someone close to you. That is the worst kind of attack. Then it (evil) catches you when you are tired and have so many things on your plate. The final blow is bringing up the past. Attacking you with your inner demons. That is the ultimate low. The saving grace through all of this is GOD. Get yourself in a room, on a beach, away from it all. Think hard. Know that God does not bring on confusion. God does not use the past against you.  And God takes you from glory to glory. Cast this and all feelings, words exchanged, hurt, anger right back at EVIL.

Ephesians 6:12 For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places.

I Have Put Away My Childish Things

Although Paul who was formally Saul; the hardest man in the Roman army. Penalizing  the new found followers of Christ. But as with many he turned his life around and addressed many. In this particular case, he wrote a letter to the Corinthians a Greek based civilization. It is one of his best dissertations.

 1 Corinthians 13:1-13

If I speak in the tongues a of men or of angels, but do not have love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing. If I give all I possess to the poor and give over my body to hardship that I may boast, but do not have love, I gain nothing.

Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.

Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away. 9For we know in part and we prophesy in part, but when completeness comes, what is in part disappears. When I was a child, I talked like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I put the ways of childhood behind me. For now we see only a reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known.

And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.

Love Your Fellow Man By Design?

There have been people through out the years that have been broken beyond repair.
Cain was a prime example. Saul was another. There were many way back when and there are many now. Does that mean we as Christians should give up totally? There is so much negativity spewed through various channels, it is very hard to keep focus on God and his commandments. Right? Not so. If God is the focus of your life, all the stuff out there will remain stuff out there. We have the power of prayer. With that we can ask for strength. Discernment. Wisdom and Understanding. Forgiveness. Favor. God grants all of these things when asked.
Ephesians 1:11 In him we have obtained an inheritance, having been predestined according to the purpose of him who works all things according to the counsel of his

Let Grace Be Shown To The Wicked

Isaiah 28:10-12

But if the wicked man is shown favor,
he does not learn righteousness.
In a righteous land he acts unjustly
and does not see the majesty of the Lord.
Lord, Your hand is lifted up to take action,
but they do not see it.
They will see your zeal for your people,
and they will be put to shame.
The fire for your adversaries will consume them!
Lord, you will establish peace for us,
for you have also done all our work for us.

If we trust and believe in God, we must remain vigilant and in faith, that he sees all. All of this wickedness. All of this suffering. All of this evilness. We must also remember we are not innocent. We are sinners as well. We cannot stand atop a mountain and not see the plank in our own eye before we call notice to the plank in anothers eye. No, God sees all. Repentance( confessing & acknowledging ones sins). Intention( what lies in the heart). Trust( in the Lord that he has the biggest picture of all for you). Continue to pray. Prayer changes things, it does not magically take things away. It just changes/moves a voice in the direction that God is in. Only he has the power to change things.

God Is Omnipotent, Omnipresent And Omniscient

God is Omnipotent. God is Almighty. God is Omnipresent. God is everywhere. God is Omniscient. God knows all things.

The statements above are a description of who God is what he can do and how deep he is in our lives if we want him to be.

Romans 12:2 Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.

Psalm 62:5-8 Yes, my soul, finds rest in God. My hope comes from him.Truly he is my rock and my salvation. He is my fortress, I will not be shaken. My salvation and my honor depend on God. He is my mighty rock, my refuge. Trust in him at all times, you people. Pour out your hearts to him, for God is our refuge.

The Reflection Is You

It is not unusual to internalize. It is not an aberration to think on and contemplate any outcome. Our world is so fast paced reality slips by many. We need to stop, reflect, think.

Philippians 4:6-7 do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

If we took a little time to look into our hearts. Into our souls. We would see the reflection of who we are. God gave us a mind to think. A heart to feel. A soul to survive. Not all things are meant for us. We have to discern and if we can't (discern) call on God to help. There are deceptions around every corner. Wisdom & Understanding triumph over all. God is love, that's all that is needed.

Walking Through That Valley

Psalm 23:4 Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me.

When we  have put our best foot forward. When we have given our all. Things can sometime, still go wrong. Which causes us to take a step back and go over what it is God wants you to know. Easy right? You would think that it would be. However when we revisit what ever it is, we have to think, hmm must I  give up something? Is there a sacrifice that needs to be made here? Something seems to be blocking the blessings. It can be something simple or it can be something much more complicated. What ever it is we have to face it. Pray about it. Talk to God one on one about it. Ask for it to be revealed to you, so that you walk away with wisdom and understanding. Know that if your answer comes from God there is no confusion.

A Mother's Prayer 2013

When I started this blog (this online diary), it was at the suggestion of my youngest son. He is my inspiration. Befitting of every mother. I look to both of my sons with astonishment. With love. With an ever growing respect for where they are and from whence they came. Nothing in life is ever easy. After reviewing one of my favorite Bible personalities I say to myself "Mmm they were doing these things back then?"David's life has been chronicled since he was a boy. When he became a man he was like many of us. His missteps caused lots of pain. As he aged his children were his life's blood. He loved them despite their faults. Some of them went on to make him very proud. As this day begins, remember our children are our future and all we can do is love them as many before us have done.
1 Corinthians 13:4-7 Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.

Fear A Weapon Used

Fear given to most strikes a place of uncertainty. A feeling of being lost.  A feeling that the solution is no where near. Not only does your mind play tricks on you when fear is in the picture, but your body actually goes through physical changes. Heart rate increases. Pupils dilate. Sweat forms. Adrenaline is pumped way up. This is FEAR. The enemy loves it. For some it shuts the brain down from logic. It prays on the unknown. The faithless. Fear does come in all of our lives sooner or later. It is how we chose to deal with it. To “fear him” (God) means to stand in awe of him. Psalm 33:8 “Let all the earth FEAR the Lord; let all the inhabitants of the world STAND IN AWE OF HIM!”.  To fear the Lord is to stand in awe of his majesty, power, wisdom, justice and mercy, especially in Christ – in his life, death and resurrection – that is, to have an exalted view of God. This is what we should understand when those fiery darts come at us. Fear not for I am with you. Says the lord.We must stand in faith. We must not allow ourselves to get caught up in the web of deceit. God is here for us. We cannot conceive the big picture he has for us. We tend to worry along the way. The enemy would love us to lose our faith. We are stronger then that.

The Gift Of Grace

When we put on aires and act as though nothing bothers us, we are holding back the healing process. There is nothing wrong with being humble. There is nothing wrong with humility. When this world is so full of strife and suffering we have to remember who came before us. Who suffered and died on the cross for all of mankind. When we confess our sins. When we repent of them. We are releasing the agony within. When we announce our acceptance of Jesus Christ we immediately begin Gods grace and mercy. We cannot fix everything or everyone, however we can help to fix ourselves. We can accept Gods salvation. Once our slate is clear, we can move on. We can help others. We can share our testimony.
Luke 24:45-49 Then Jesus opened their minds so they could understand the Scriptures.  He said to them, "It is written that the Christ would suffer and rise from the dead on the third day and that a change of hearts and lives and forgiveness of sins would be preached in his name to all nations, starting at Jerusalem.  You are witnesses of these things. I will send you what my Father has promised, but you must stay in Jerusalem until you have received that power from heaven."

The Lions Den

How many of us have been in a virtual Lions Den? Just when you think you are following your path in life. You have been obedient to God. You treat people the way they should be treated. You are maintaining a Godly life. But the haters come out in droves. They devise traps, leans, lies etc etc. And just like that something comes up those that have been in your corner, seem far and distant. You are penalized for the sake of the "rules". Your punishment is the Lions Den. A place where you are all alone(or so it seems). A place where those haters are looking in saying "yeah, we have him or her this time". A place that seems so hostile you look around and say to yourself, "God this can't be real". God's actions state 'No son it is not" . You find yourself at ease, because God is with you. You know in your heart that you have done all things right the best you could. When all the dust settles those that believe in you still do. The haters are sent away tails tucked and your battle continues. However your heart and your mind have been reinforced with the notion that God is on your side and will remain so as long as you want him.
John 5:14-15 This is the confidence that we have toward him, that if we ask anything according to his will he hears us. And if we know that he hears us in whatever we ask, we know that we have the requests that we have asked of him.

Worn And Weary

Our bodies, our minds and yes our souls get tired. When we literally have to fight the enemy it wears on all three mentioned above. It has been a practice of many to see how long one can endure pain, agony, and emotional stress. God has wired us to take some of this to a degree, however we require rest, rejuvenation, time out. We are not robots. In the bible you see that endurance is proven by Jesus spending a(40 day) period of fasting in order to prepare Himself for His earthly ministry which was about to begin. It also prepared Him for the time of temptation by the devil in the wilderness.  This was an extra ordinary test. Nothing says that we cannot sacrifice for the Lord. But what needs to be remembered is Jesus died on the cross, suffering for us all so that we do not have to. We should not  feel shame, or guilt. That through him we are saved. So be at peace and rest. Read the bible. Live life as best you can. Do not let things wear on you. Go to God and leave your burdens. Do not pick them up again.

Psalm 55:22 Give your burdens to the Lord and he will take care of you. He will not permit the Godly to slip and fall.

For Every Action There Is An Equal And Opposite Reaction

Matthew 8:26 Jesus replied, “You of little faith, why are you so afraid?” Then he got up and rebuked the winds and the waves, and it was completely calm.

Can you imagine after having seen, all the things with this man of God, that you still doubt? How can this be? The disciples were human. Not many of us can walk the walk and talk the talk including the disciples. Not many of us ever go through times without a doubt. Here is the amazing thing. God knows this. Jesus is our salvation. We slip, tumble and fall all of the time. God knows our hearts and our intention. Do your best to be genuine. Humble and faithful. Repent and ask for forgiveness when you fall short. God understands.

Safely In His Bosom

There is so much to be thankful for. Just when you think that you have it rough you look to your left or right someone has it worst.  Death, destruction, homelessness, dignity loss via illness. All of these fall under the umbrella of no return. When we see these things we tend to say to ourselves that is not me, or that won't happen to me. Which is not factually true. Any of these things could happen at anytime. Be mindful of thinking that you are above anything.

Ephesians 4:2

Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love.

Saying Thank You With Grace

How accustom are we to saying thank you humbly and gracefully? Many of us say thank you out of habit. To say thank you when receiving something is done instinctively. Something driven in us by mothers, fathers, grandparents etc. We learned to do this out of politeness, etiquette. However, to really give a meaningful thank you one must show and really feel a humbleness, a graciousness. Most times a giver gives from his or her heart. There is the rare occasion that someone gives with an ulterior motive. On the most part it is not the latter. Just remember that giving one thanks for their sacrifice goes  beyond the the superficial words. Thank you should come from the heart.

Numbers 6:24-26
The Lord bless you and keep you;
The Lord make His face shine upon you,
And be gracious to you;
The Lord lift up His countenance upon you,
And give you peace.

We Should Praise God Daily No Matter What

Galatians 5:22
But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith.

It is very apparent that life goes on no matter what. However it is the quality of life that gives us peace. We who have the spiritual connection with God know how that feels. It is a thing of beauty when our heart forgives. When we can move on from a cold and merciless spot in our lives. We need to have that Godly way about us. It is as needed as breath. We must kneel before God with all of our sin, our weaknesses, our faults. He understands and by excepting Jesus Christ in our lives we know that our short comings are forgiven.

Adjusting To Your Surroundings

God gives us built in receptors to adjust to different environments, situations, people, times. When it comes to our spiritual awareness. Our knowing God we adjust as well. Some are more grounded then others. Some barely know of the reason things happen as they do. But they adjust and they believe. They have a testimony about their experience with God. Who God is to them. Make note God is not the same in everyone's heart. He is an almighty and constant God. But each and every one of us experiences God in a different way.
Acts 1:24 And they prayed and said, “You, Lord, who know the hearts of all, show which one of these two you have chosen.

Never Will God Be Second

Have you ever done something that hurt someones feelings? Have you ever not paid attention to your word delivery? Have you ever been inconsiderate? The answer is yes, we all have. The beauty of life and life choosing God is that all of this can be forgiven. We are not judged for our idiosyncrasies. We are judged by our hearts and our works. Meaning God understands our humanness. It is mankind that needs to stop being so judgemental. It is mankind that needs to forgive. We as humans cannot go through life harboring ill feelings. We cannot hold on to the past no matter how painful. At some point forgiveness has to take place. The result of not doing so leads to so many, many things. In the book of Kings you find Saul turning so bitterly angry and jealous of David that he pursues him, and tries to kill him. David on the other hand remembers in his heart that Saul has no reason to feel this way. On many occasions David could have ended the pursuit and killed Saul. But he did not. He forgave him, he let him go. Saul ended up falling on his own sword. God wants us to know him. God loves us unconditionally, without question. Without holding us accountable. We simply have to give our pain and misery to him. Through Jesus Christ death; our pain and suffering was taken care of.
1 Corinthians 10:13   No temptation has overtaken you that is not common to man. God is faithful, and he will not let you be tempted beyond your ability, but with the temptation he will also provide the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it.
