Gods Almighty Presence

When Saul was converted to loving God, he experienced a thresh hold. A right of passage. An ever presence of the Lord himself. Saul's life revolved around bullying, intimidation, torturing and perhaps killing people who believed in God and that God was for all people.  Like a mean dog. One that had been trained to attack an enemy, so was Saul. God can do anything......through Jesus we are forgiven of our sins. Saul became one of the best motivational speakers of his time as Paul.

Acts 9: 1-6 Meanwhile, Saul was still breathing out murderous threats against the Lord’s disciples. He went to the high priest and asked him for letters to the synagogues in Damascus, so that if he found any there who belonged to the Way, whether men or women, he might take them as prisoners to Jerusalem.  As he neared Damascus on his journey, suddenly a light from heaven flashed around him.  He fell to the ground and heard a voice say to him, “Saul, Saul, why do you persecute me? Who are you, Lord?Saul asked. I am Jesus, whom you are persecuting, he replied.  “Now get up and go into the city, and you will be told what you must do.”

Let My Prayer Be Heard

Who can understand his errors? cleanse you me from secret faults. Keep back your servant also from presumptuous sins; let them not have dominion over me: then shall I be upright, and I shall be innocent from the great transgression. Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in your sight, O LORD, my strength, and my redeemer.
These verses, this picture says all that needs to be said about the power of prayer. And to whom we need to be praying to.

The Fog Rolled In

Living and working near a large body of water makes you fully aware how quickly things can change. The ocean is an amazing entity. As the extremely warm day began its evening decent the fog rolled in and took the sun by surprise. The temperature went from a balmy high of 88 to a cool 70. It seemed the fingers of God were reaching for the shore. This took place within an hour.

Life is but a wink of an eye. God sees us all as individual grains of sand. Each unique. Each loved. We must remember how fast the temperature can change. We must live life with an awesome passion for it. Love with lots of heart. The fog can roll in anytime.

1 Corinthians 13:4-8 --- love suffers long , and is kind ; love envies not; love values not itself , is not puffed up ,  Do not behave itself unseemly , seeks not her own, is not easily provoked , thinks no evil; Rejoice not in iniquity, but rejoice in the truth; Bear all things, believe all things, hope all things, endure all things. love never fails : but whether there be prophecies, they shall fail ; whether there be tongues, they shall cease ; whether there be knowledge, it shall vanish away .

Mind Body And Soul.

When the heart stops life as we know it stops. We must take care of our physical bodies to keep the heart and all of the other vital organs alive and well. To be free of damage means our life is extended even longer. When we feed our bodies well we have a better quality of life. The same is applicable with our spirit. With our souls. We must feed our souls daily with God. As with our bodies and souls our minds fall into sync with these things as well. Yes, Body, Mind and Soul accompany and we must compliment each with the same amount of loving attention to sustain life.

Deuteronomy 6:4-5
Hear, O Israel: The Lord is our God, the Lord alone. You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your might.

When We Share

As a child many of us were taught to share at an early age. Be it a snack. Be it a toy. Be it a book. What ever it was we learned that the practice of sharing was a social skill later to be developed as a gift.God has given to us his most treasured possession. In return that act of giving saved our souls from doom, disaster and hell.We should have retained the act of giving and its ultimate value. God looks to us to remember.

James 1:17-25

Every generous act of giving, with every perfect gift, is from above, coming down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow due to change.
In fulfillment of his own purpose he gave us birth by the word of truth, so that we would become a kind of first fruits of his creatures.
for your anger does not produce God's righteousness. Therefore rid yourselves of all sordidness and rank growth of wickedness, and welcome with meekness the implanted word that has the power to save your souls. But be doers of the word, and not merely hearers who deceive themselves. For if any are hearers of the word and not doers, they are like those who look at themselves in a mirror; for they look at themselves and, on going away, immediately forget what they were like. But those who look into the perfect law, the law of liberty, and persevere, being not hearers who forget but doers who act—they will be blessed in their doing. You must understand this, my beloved: let everyone be quick to listen, slow to speak, slow to anger.

All Is Forgiven

There can be undue pressure among the modern Christian today. Many "rules and regulations" have came out of the many churches that follow the "guidelines" of God. Here's the unadulterated truth. Worshiping God does not take any effort on your behalf. It is simple. There is nothing in the bible that states that you have to be any other way but good as you can be. Christ Jesus died for the sins of the world. How one chooses to love God and how God loves that individual is between them. So many times Jesus had to stand against the hypocrites. How dare they place their pomp and circumstance on anyone wanting to experience God. So the next time a preacher, pope, rabbi states that you must do this or that to honor God, think about it. All that is required is the goodness of your heart. The unconditional love to God. Seek him first. Have faith. Ask forgiveness. And acknowledge that through Jesus we are reborn.

Colossians 2:16-17 Therefore let no one pass judgment on you in questions of food and drink, or with regard to a festival or a new moon or a Sabbath.  These are a shadow of the things to come, but the substance belongs to Christ.

Giving Of Oneself The Ultimate Sacrafice

How many of us are prepared to go that extra mile? To give the very last of what we have? Not many.

Proverbs 3:27 Do not withhold good from those to whom it is due, when it is in your power to do it.

When God Calls The Shots

So many of us go through life thinking we are solely in control of of it. It is not so. God is in total control. Without our steps already being ordered, everyone pretty much would be the same, no individualism at all. Robots. No each one of us is as unique as a snowflake or grain of sand. What many have a hard time grasping is faith in God. Total trust. Most think everything in life if from God should be good, clean and without fault. No, not so. The mindset that it takes to know, trust and believe in God is more then most can imagine. It is that very strength that gets us through the valleys and peaks in our lives.

Psalm 139: 7, 9-10, 23-24
Where can I go from your Spirit? Where can I flee from your presence? If I rise on the wings of the dawn, if I settle on the far side of the sea, even there your hand will guide me, your right hand will hold me fast. Search me, O God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts. See if there is any offensive way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting.

God Our Creator

God willing we all rise everyday faithfully. God allows us to start over. We have the ability to leave the past behind. God gives us grace and mercy to move from glory to glory to glory. All we have to do is believe and trust in him.

Psalm 59:16-17
But as for me, I will sing about your power. Each morning I will sing with joy about your unfailing love. For you have been my refuge, a place of safety when I am in distress. O my Strength, to you I sing praises, for you, O God, are my refuge, the God who shows me unfailing love.

The God Of Peace Will Be You

When struggle is upon you, it is very easy to crumble with the weight of it all. However when you give your burdens to the lord it lifts any heavy load that may be weighing on you. Trust and believe.

Philippians 4:6-9

Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things. What you have learned and received and heard and seen in me—practice these things, and the God of peace will be with you.

Changing Tide The Rise And Fall Of It

There are so many that are quick to pass judgement. And not visit the plank in their eye. It is something that has been going on since the beginning of time. What God ask us to do, is to be mindful of such a thing, because ultimately in the end we are all going to be judged by our very works. Works meaning the things that we do or have done. We are human, we make mistakes. The key is to understand that you do. Forgive yourself, know and trust in your heart that ill will and ugliness was not the intention. A wounded animal is more dangerous then one that isn't. Think about the other person. When they lash out, they may be hurting. Understanding and wisdom are much more precious then gold. Use yours.
Ephesians 4:26-31
In your anger do not sin": Do not let the sun go down while you are still angry,  and do not give the devil a foothold.  He who has been stealing must steal no longer, but must work, doing something useful with his own hands, that he may have something to share with those in need.  Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen.  And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, with whom you were sealed for the day of redemption. Get rid of all bitterness, rage and anger, brawling and slander, along with every form of malice.

The Beginning And The End

God said I am the Alpha and the Omega. The bible begins with Genesis and ends with Revelations. In life we have our beginnings and our ends. It is the in between that must be relevant and breath quality. If your beginning is rough or different from the fairytale most want to believe it should be, oh well so be it. It is the deceiver that lives the lie. God wants us to know who he is. He wants us to trust that he knows best for us. Each one of us has a life that is unique to us. Imagine if we were all the same? We are not. So let God lead you. Listen to that inner voice. There is so much wisdom to be picked up on if we look in the right places.

James 1:5 If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask God, who gives generously to all without reproach, and it will be given him.

The Present Is Certainly Representative Of The Past

When many before Christ spoke of his coming there seemed to be much doubt and confusion. When Christ did come, there was still doubt and confusion. After his death, it was even more challenging the doubt and confusion. It has taken over three thousand years after many a prophet. Many a preacher. And many books relating to God and his expectations and explaining the return of the Messiah. Even after all of  these things have  come to fruition. Doubt and confusion still exist. You have to trust and believe.

James 1:6 But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea that is driven and tossed by the wind.

The Way

John 14:6 Jesus answered, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.

Believing, trusting and doing the right thing to achieve an audience with God, through his son Jesus Christ should be a true followers goal. It is not always easy the roads that we travel, at least the road map is provided for us. We have nothing to hide from God and he us.

Exbound on Gods glory. Make God your rock in the eye of any storm. He is there for you.

You Are Not Down For The Count As Long As You Believe

We have all heard the stories from the bible that has one of Gods children warding off enemies, David, Daniel, Paul, John, Moses. The point of the matter is that God will never leave or forsake you as long as you believe. As long as you acknowledge his presence. As long as you know that you have to go through Jesus Christ to get to heaven. To take self indulgent and selfish things and put them to the side. To love your fellow man. Confess you sins. Ask for repentance.
God is good all of the time!

Instead, you ought to say, "If it is the Lord's will, we will live and do this or that."
James 4:15

Yes, Boldly She Touched His Garment

Matthew 9:20 Just then a woman who had been subject to bleeding for twelve years came up behind him and touched the edge of his cloak.
Can you imagine the silence? The shock and awe of the disciples? It was a bold step for a women in her day. She had been suffering with a twelve year issue. She said to herself, I need help. If this man is who he says he is, let me get his attention. Maybe he can help me. Her faith in him did it all.
Matthew 9:21-22
She said to herself, "If I only touch his cloak, I will be healed."
Jesus turned and saw her. "Take heart, daughter," he said, "your faith has healed you." And the woman was healed at that moment.

All That I Can Do Is Pray

There are days when you ask yourself: "What else can go wrong?" You, lower your head close your eyes and say to yourself "Lord all I can do is pray" giving it to him.  Letting it go. Rid yourself of the worry, the anxiety, the anger, the why me, all of it. LET IT GO! Have faith. God has you. It may not seem that way but he does.

Hebrews 11:1Now faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see.

Life's Ups And Downs

It is so easy to walk around thinking our own personal struggle is the most important thing there is. And yes, those struggles can be life threatening. They can be mind altering. They can bring you to the point of brokenness. But nothing is worst then a soul suffering or a lost soul. There is nothing more frightening to witness. There is nothing more disheartening to imagine. The sheer torture of the spirit and mind. Jesus walked among these spirits, they were aware of who he was.

Luke 11:14 Jesus was driving out a demon that was mute. When the demon left, the man who had been mute spoke, and the crowd was amazed.
1 Peter 5:8 Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour.

Let us pray mercifully before God that none of this befalls us. Wisdom and Understanding. Peace and Tranquility. Love and Kindness. Always

Day In Day Out

Our routines are pretty repetitive. We get up, prepare for work, kids for school, do all to make the days beginning as smooth as we can. We get in our vehicles or on public transportation etc to get where we need to get. But how many of us take the time of day to make God part of our routine? If we don't, we should. He thinks of us each and everyday. We should praise and thank him in the same way. God is awesome. Calling on him in your time of need is a great thing to do. But making him part of your daily routine  is even better.
Psalm 99:3 Let them praise your great and awesome name.

God Is Awesome

Just when we think our backs are up against a wall. Gods sweetness appears. Just when the devil is throwing every fiery dart in his arsenal against us, we manage to survive. Knowing God, loving God, giving up self are recognizable gifts in Gods eyes. The test comes when the devil attacks through a loved one. Or when sickness and death shakes our cores. It is one of the hardest things to have to deal with. We manage by the grace of God. Stay connected. In this world today there is too much out there not to.

Ephesians 3:17 I pray that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith; that you, being rooted and grounded in love.

To Be Of Compassion

To have empathy. To act with compassion. To show that you have a conscience. Are all of Gods requirements. Many of us fail miserably. God knew that we would fail. He must have contemplated his next move deeply. To give up something so special and so near to you're heart is in itself a task. We must think the same way. What can we give up? What are we willing to sacrificed? Am I thinking of myself before others?

Deuteronomy 15:7, 11
If there is a poor man among your brothers in any of the towns of the land that the LORD your God is giving you, do not be hardhearted or tightfisted toward your poor brother. There will always be poor people in the land. Therefore I command you to be openhanded toward your brothers and toward the poor and needy in your land.

Is It Enough To Just Say Thank You?

1Peter 5:6 Humble yourselves, therefore, under God's mighty hand, that he may lift you up in due time.

Is it enough to say thank you lord for all that you do? Yes it is. If you know that God has moved mountains for you acknowledge that. If you know that God has saved your life on more then one occasion, by all means tell him how much you love him. If God has his hands on you and you do not say a humble thank you. Then you are doing yourself and God a tremendous disservice. I love my God more and more everyday. I am eternally and humbly gracious for all that he does for me. Amen

God Is Steadfast Strength In the Mist Of Any Storm

Isa 25:4 For thou hast been a strength to the poor, a strength to the needy in his distress, a refuge from the storm, a shadow from the heat, when the blast of the terrible ones is as a storm against the wall.

When we look at our world the way it is today, it is very hard to see the goodness and mercy bestowed upon anybody. There are many who question a God that allows suffering. There are many who have lost their way. There is so much evil out right.

It is easy to see the dark side. What believers know is that God will never leave or forsake them. Jesus suffered for all of us. Suffering was not eliminated when he died. Evil did not go away when he died. Disasters did not go away when he died. Jesus died to  save our souls. To keep the believers from hell and damnation. To allow us to go to heaven to be with our Lord. Nothing more. You cannot convince a non believer because they question the divinity of it all. It comes down to what you know and feel inside. Your own God experience. And that experience is like no other that you have ever felt.

I Once Was

One of the most fascinating stories of the bible captures our imaginations in this way. Can you envision, your existence based on who you harassed? How much you intimidated a person or persons? Hating a group of individuals because of what and who they believed in? In a nut shell you lived as a royal "hater" and jerk. That was Saul before he became Paul. Now envision, having a divine revelation. Having a change of heart. Getting closer to the very God you despised these people for believing in. Having the daunting task of spreading the gospel "the good news" through out regions. Convincing people that with God and believing in Jesus their lives would be so much better. How about having to face some of those same people you ridiculed, harassed, threw in jail convincing them that you were a whole different person now? How very difficult this task would have been. You are literally thrown in jail. Beat up. Called crazy. But you believed in God without a shadow of a doubt. You died for the cause. This seems like a story out of today's society. However it is the very true story of a negative person turning his life around. In life, this could be a very applicable occasion to many. It is a scene that is played out over and over again. There have been many who have changed their lives completely. It is not up to us to judge a person and harbor hatred if that person has changed for the greater good.
Luke 6:37 Judge not, and you will not be judged; condemn not, and you will not be condemned; forgive, and you will be forgiven;

The Eleven And A Half Hour

This is the ultimate eleventh hour story:

Then God said,  Abraham“Take your son, your only son, whom you love—Isaac—and go to the region of Moriah. Sacrifice him there as a burnt offering  When he had cut enough wood for the burnt offering, he set out for the place God had told him about. On the third day Abraham looked up and saw the place in the distance.  He said to his servants, “Stay here with the donkey while I and the boy go over there. We will worship and then we will come back to you.”  God said,  Abraham take your son, your only son, whom you love—Isaac—and go to the region of Moriah. Sacrifice him there as a burnt offering on a mountain I will show you.”
Abraham took the wood for the burnt offering and placed it on his son Isaac, and he himself carried the fire and the knife. As the two of them went on together, Isaac spoke up and said to his father Abraham, “Father? The fire and wood are here,” Isaac said, “but where is the lamb for the burnt offering?Yes, my son?” Abraham replied. Abraham answered, “God himself will provide the lamb for the burnt offering, my son.” And the two of them went on together. When they reached the place God had told him about, Abraham built an altar there and arranged the wood on it. He bound his son Isaac and laid him on the altar, on top of the wood. Then he reached out his hand and took the knife to slay his son. But the angel of the Lord called out to him from heaven, Abraham! Abraham! Do not lay a hand on the boy, he said. Do not do anything to him. Now I know that you fear God, because you have not withheld from me your son, your only son. Abraham looked up and there in a thicket he saw a ram[a] caught by its horns. He went over and took the ram and sacrificed it as a burnt offering instead of his son.  So Abraham called that place The Lord Will Provide. And to this day it is said, “On the mountain of the Lord it will be provided.” The angel of the Lord called to Abraham from heaven a second time  and said, “I swear by myself, declares the Lord, that because you have done this and have not withheld your son, your only son,  I will surely bless you and make your descendants as numerous as the stars in the sky and as the sand on the seashore. Your descendants will take possession of the cities of their enemies,  and through your offspring all nations on earth will be blessed, because you have obeyed me. This is what we have to do. As dismal as it may seem you have to be willing to make that sacrifice. So the next time the opportunity comes to take the easy road think of what you are truly giving up.

Faithfulness and Devotion

The bible has many a story of courage, faith, redemption on and on, but never have I read such devotion as in the book of Ruth. Naomi the mother of two the wife of one, loses her husband to illness and her sons to war. She has the company of her sons wives. But times are hard for women without men. She decides to go back to her people. She begs her daughters in law(s) to return to theirs. They do not want to leave her side. They both love her dearly. She tries to sway them that they would have more of a chance to gain rather then to lose staying with her.

Ruth 1:11-18

But Naomi said, “Return home, my daughters. Why would you come with me? Am I going to have any more sons, who could become your husbands?  Return home, my daughters; I am too old to have another husband. Even if I thought there was still hope for me even if I had a husband tonight and then gave birth to sons would you wait until they grew up? Would you remain unmarried for them? No, my daughters. It is more bitter for me than for you, because the Lord’s hand has turned against me!”
At this they wept aloud again. Then *Orpah kissed her mother-in-law goodbye, but Ruth clung to her.“Look,” said Naomi, “your sister-in-law is going back to her people and her gods. Go back with her.” But Ruth replied, “Don’t urge me to leave you or to turn back from you. Where you go I will go, and where you stay I will stay. Your people will be my people and your God my God. Where you die I will die, and there I will be buried. May the Lord deal with me, be it ever so severely, if even death separates you and me.”  When Naomi realized that Ruth was determined to go with her, she stopped urging her.

This is devotion. This is faithfulness. As the story goes Ruth remarries after going through the changes with her mother in law picking scraps of wheat to survive. This story is dynamic. Perseverance. Tenacity. Love. All shown here. A true lesson for all to see.

*(this is the correct spelling) The person that we know as Oprah was named after this person. The family used Oprah instead of Orpah.

You Are Blessed In The Lords Eyes But...

The story of King David, Bathsheba and Uriah her husband occurred over 3000 years ago. But let us visit the similarities of the same occurrences today.

When David saw the beautiful women of color (Hitites were of African decent) he had to have her. Sound like any of the high profile entertainers, politicians? He sent for her and she fell under his spell even though she was a married women. He mesmerised her. He was the King. She got pregnant, told David and he put a  plan to cover it up in motion.
The bottom line is that as soon as he found out she was pregnant he sent for her husband got him drunk, told him to go home to his wife make love to her so that everyone would think the baby belongs to Uriah. That plan did not work Uriah never slept with his wife, he was a faithful solider and thought that his job was way too important to get side tracked. David eventually had Uriah sent into battle where he was killed. David married Bathsheba the child she was carrying died. God frowned on Davids mess up. David realized his sin and asked God for his forgiveness. God eventually forgave him. 2 Samuel 11.

This is could have been a scene out of any entertainment magazine. It is very important to know that we are men and women. We are going to sin. God sees all. We really have to be cognisant of what we do. And try not to do them. Ask forgiveness when we slip and fall. Know God sees our hearts.

Be Mindful Of Deception

The smallest things can deter you. The devil is so subtle. Lies, deception, unclean spirits begin small but can turn into something much larger. When you have a sense about something follow your instinct. Go to God in loud prayer. The devil is a liar.

Psalm 91:14 -15
“Because he loves me, says the Lord, I will rescue him;
I will protect him, for he acknowledges my name. He will call upon me, and
I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble, I will deliver him and honor him.

Isaiah 41:10
“So do not fear, for I am with you;  do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.

Psalm 27:1
“The LORD is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? the LORD is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?”

Matthew 11:29-30 Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.

By following Jesus. We see by his example the heaviness that can be. We must remember he sacrificed his life to take all of this away from us. Let go and let God. Keep it simple, carefree, worry free. There is no shame. No guilt in giving it  (your burdens) to God and through Jesus we all have the capability to do so.
