The Only Biblical Reference To Church Is Found In Matthew

On Sunday's many of us take this day as a time for rest. A time for family. A time to gather with many in a sanctuary to praise and worship God. When Christianity was in its infant stages, there was no church. There were temples built and erected to represent God. But the gathering places were in the homes. Hymns were sung most of the time to express ones feelings of God and to God. In the book of Matthew, which is the lead book of the New Testament, Chapter 18:15 If another member of the church sins against you, go and point out the fault when the two of you are alone. If the member listens to you,you have regained that one.
This verse spells out to me what the mission of a church leader is. Matthew was an evangelist. He preached. He passed on many a story of the life and times of Jesus and the word of God.
