The G-Force

In the book of Matthew Jesus finds himself explaining many things.  One young man came to him and asked ;

Good Master, what good thing shall I do, that I may have eternal life?
And he said unto him, Why callest thou me good? there is none good but one, that is, God: but if thou wilt enter into life, keep the commandments.
He saith unto him, Which? Jesus said, Thou shalt do no murder, Thou shalt not commit adultery, Thou shalt not steal, Thou shalt not bear false witness.
Honor your father and your mother: and, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.
The young man saith unto him, All these things have I kept from my youth up: what lack I yet?
Jesus said unto him, If thou wilt be perfect, go and sell that thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come and follow me.
But when the young man heard that saying, he went away sorrowful: for he had great possessions.
Then said Jesus unto his disciples, Verily I say unto you, That a rich man shall hardly enter into the kingdom of heaven.
And again I say unto you, It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God.
When his disciples heard it, they were exceedingly amazed, saying, Who then can be saved?
But Jesus beheld them, and said unto them, With men this is impossible; but with God all things are possible.

Light Unto My Path Illuminated By The Word

For some it is very difficult to understand why someone acts the way they do. How come he or she isn't doing the right thing? Who made him or her the boss of me? Why can't I get a break? Good questions, but questions of judgement and faithlessness. When we can understand our mission. When we can understand the path that God has us on, these things may pop up now and then, (mostly when we are at our lowest and the enemy takes advantage). However, when we know with conviction what path God has for us, there is no doubt. One thing to keep in mind, that path isn't going to be easy. There are lessons to be learned along the way. Most have to deal with giving up self. Not being judgemental and having faith. Sounds simple enough. It isn't. We are men and women who have been given a chance to be saved over and over again. This time through Jesus Christ. Take each day as it comes. Dream big, yes. Remember God's plan for us is so grand we couldn't even fathom it. Get up each day thank him for who you are, where you are, and where you're  going to be. Stay in faith. Cast out the evil spirits. Ask for forgiveness and keep it moving. Wisdom and Understanding are priceless.

John 15:5 "I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing.

My Lord My Savior

Today many mix religious ceremonial practices as worshiping our God. In reality God is simple. No need for pomp and circumstance to get Gods attention. A simple prayer, faith, unconditional love is all it takes.

Today is a special day. Today I feel connected to my source. Today I feel that I am a step closer to what I should and will become. No need to ask for favors, for I know everything comes when the timing is perfect. TODAY, LET US THANK GOD TOGETHER!
Thank you God for giving me another day, another chance to become a better individual, another chance to give and experience love. Thank you God for giving me health, for the food you provide, for the awareness you have awaken in me...Thank you for the energy that feeds my soul, the sun that warms our bodies and the air that fills our lungs... Because of you I believe in the good without the bad and the ugly, because of you I am learning to love and accept myself, because of you I believe in believing. My source, stay connected to me today and always, for I need you in order to fulfil my spiritual tasks...God, show me how to love myself, to be able to love others. Help me become the type of person that I would like to befriend, help me forgive myself and forgive others... God, make me a channel of your energy and help me understand. I thank you God for giving me another day, another unused opportunity to do it right. Keep us all close to you and listen to our prayers. Amen.

Heroes Are Not Usually Celebrated During Their Lifetimes

The question was asked was Hannibal the generals story in the Bible? The answer is no, he was before Christ. There are many in the Bible who are to this date considered heroes. Daniel, David, Saul, Paul. Many many others. The thing to remember is that they fought long and hard. They went up against tremendous odds. But with God on their side they were able to defeat the challenges they faced. We today can do the same. Defeat our challenges with God on our side. Never approaching life with the vanity or thinking that you saved the day in a boastful manner. Instead doing Gods works unconditionally. Having faith having purpose in everything you do because it is driven by and from God.

1 John 4:4 Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.

There Isn't But One Way To Connect To God

No matter the age nor the decade God's love has remained steadfast and true. No matter the mode of delivery nor the access, God's accessibility has been steadfast and true. When you have a relationship with God it is spiritual, yes and that spirituality spills over into your every moment God's exuberance radiates through you. It is truly a blessing to have this feeling, this relationship with God. By staying in faith. By thanking God for all the blessings that you have received, the foundation does nothing but get stronger.

Matthew 6:33
But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.

2 Timothy 2:15 Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a worker who has no need to be ashamed, rightly handling the word of truth.

Excellent Is He

There is no question in the minds of true believers that God is who he is. That God does what he does. When faith and trust in God is that powerful, the excellence of God shines through. The Holy Spirit shines through. Stay this way always. God knows our needs, wants and desires. As long as we continue to give him glory God will live up to his promise. That he will never leave or forsake you.

Psalm 16:1 You have made known to me the path of life; you will fill me with joy in your presence, with eternal pleasures at your right hand.

Is There Anything That We Cannot Say To God?

There are times when the human side of us comes out in an emotional state. We can be angry, we can cry, we can become depressed. So many emotional checks and balances. What many forget is in that time of what seems to be chaos we can call on the most high. We can scream, shout, fall to our knees. God does not mind. He knows what is in our hearts. Release that burden, what ever it is to him. Leave it right there with him. God loves us, he understands.

Psalm 91 1-16

He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High
    will abide in the shadow of the Almighty.
I will say to the Lord, “My refuge and my fortress,
    my God, in whom I trust.”
For he will deliver you from the snare of the fowler
    and from the deadly pestilence.
He will cover you with his pinions,
    and under his wings you will find refuge;
    his faithfulness is a shield and buckler.
You will not fear the terror of the night,
    nor the arrow that flies by day,
nor the pestilence that stalks in darkness,
    nor the destruction that wastes at noonday.
A thousand may fall at your side,
    ten thousand at your right hand,
    but it will not come near you.
You will only look with your eyes
    and see the recompense of the wicked.
Because you have made the Lord your dwelling place—
    the Most High, who is my refuge—
no evil shall be allowed to befall you,
    no plague come near your tent.
For he will command his angels concerning you
    to guard you in all your ways.
On their hands they will bear you up,
    lest you strike your foot against a stone.
You will tread on the lion and the adder;
    the young lion and the serpent you will trample underfoot.
“Because he holds fast to me in love, I will deliver him;
    I will protect him, because he knows my name.
When he calls to me, I will answer him;
    I will be with him in trouble;
    I will rescue him and honor him.
With long life I will satisfy him
    and show him my salvation.

The Ways Of Our World Noted Years Ago

If you read the words of this chapter and these verses, you will take note at how similar they are to the world in which we live. Think about it. Make the change necessary to avoid these things. Solomon the son of David was one of the wisest men to date. You
think in wonderment, how could he have known these things? The answer is very simple, he was born of Gods hand chosen King.

Proverbs 14: 9-18

Fools mock at making amends for sin,
    but goodwill is found among the upright.
Each heart knows its own bitterness,
    and no one else can share its joy.
The house of the wicked will be destroyed,
    but the tent of the upright will flourish.
There is a way that appears to be right,
    but in the end it leads to death.
Even in laughter the heart may ache,
    and rejoicing may end in grief.
The faithless will be fully repaid for their ways,
    and the good rewarded for theirs.
The simple believe anything,
    but the prudent give thought to their steps.
The wise fear the Lord and shun evil,
    but a fool is hotheaded and yet feels secure.
A quick-tempered person does foolish things,
    and the one who devises evil schemes is hated.
The simple inherit folly,
    but the prudent are crowned with knowledge.

An Early Morning Rise

God wants us to live and love. To live freely. To love unconditionally. To give back what he has given to us.We tend to find ways and things to prevent us from doing this simple but extremely vital thing to do. The world has over complicated it self. We need to keep it simple. Trust and believe. Walk in the light. And give from our hearts. All the while asking for forgiveness.

2 Corinthians 5:7
For our life is a matter of faith, not of sight.

Feeling The Fire

There is nowhere in the Bible that says we as human beings will never feel discomfort. That we will never experience pain of the heart. That we will never get sick. No there are no words that say that. What the Bible does say is Luke 1:37 For nothing will be impossible with God. The Bible also says Deuteronomy: 31:6 Be strong and courageous. Do not fear or be in dread of them, for it is the Lord your God who goes with you. He will not leave you or forsake you.
The Bible gives us instruction on the expectations of God. The Bible points out man's sins. The Bible let's us know what is most important to God. That we must have a steadfast faith, that never waivers. Without doubt.

James 1:6 But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea that is driven and tossed by the wind

A Day Of Turmoil

There are times when you look up to God and say"Really"? Again? God he can't be serious, that cat again? You may or may not get the answer in the form in which you are accustomed, but you get it. It is sometimes very maddening, exhausting and frustrating to say the least. It seems the bigger we are the harder that cat wants to see us fall. But when you have God behind you. The wiles of the evil one fizzle and fade. You find your self waking up to a sore body, a bruised mind and a soul in need of repair. Yes, the devil comes at you hard. After all you are walking that righteous path. Did you think it would be easy? It is not. No! Do not let the slick sly tongue fool you. This faith that we have is always, I repeat always being tested. We have to learn some Matrix moves to dodge those fiery darts. We have ask God for the protection. We have to call on any and every angel there is. We may get tired and weary but we can and do have the strength by way of God to carry on. Give God the praise and the glory always.

God' s Mercy Is Yours For The Taking

It is not uncommon for a believer to say "I will pray for you". Which lets God and others know that there is forgiveness in your heart. God prays for us too. He also has forgiveness in his heart. In so many stories in the Bible you see how disappointed God becomes. How angry he can get. All to give way to his huge heart, filled with grace and mercy. Above all forgiveness. When we tell another we will pray for them and it is done without condition or judgement. It sends an authentic sign to God.

Ephesians 2:8-9
For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God, not by works, so that no one can boast.

Wake Up Everybody

Sometimes it as simple as what is in black and white

1 Timothy 4

Now the Holy Spirit tells us clearly that in the last times some will turn away from the true faith; they will follow deceptive spirits and teachings that come from demons. These people are hypocrites and liars, and their consciences are dead.

They will say it is wrong to be married and wrong to eat certain foods. But God created those foods to be eaten with thanks by faithful people who know the truth. Since everything God created is good, we should not reject any of it but receive it with thanks. For we know it is made acceptable by the word of God and prayer.

If you explain these things to the brothers and sisters, Timothy, you will be a worthy servant of Christ Jesus, one who is nourished by the message of faith and the good teaching you have followed. Do not waste time arguing over godless ideas and old wives’ tales. Instead, train yourself to be godly. “Physical training is good, but training for godliness is much better, promising benefits in this life and in the life to come.” This is a trustworthy saying, and everyone should accept it. This is why we work hard and continue to struggle, for our hope is in the living God, who is the Savior of all people and particularly of all believers.

Teach these things and insist that everyone learn them. Don’t let anyone think less of you because you are young. Be an example to all believers in what you say, in the way you live, in your love, your faith, and your purity. Until I get there, focus on reading the Scriptures to the church, encouraging the believers, and teaching them.

Do not neglect the spiritual gift you received through the prophecy spoken over you when the elders of the church laid their hands on you. Give your complete attention to these matters. Throw yourself into your tasks so that everyone will see your progress. Keep a close watch on how you live and on your teaching. Stay true to what is right for the sake of your own salvation and the salvation of those who hear you.

To Those Who Suffer

In the old testament of the Bible many a man and woman went through rituals to show God that they were worthy. That their sacrifice took the place of themselves, having to avoid the suffering many thought God would bestow upon them if they did not. In the book of Job, you have his best friend sitting at his bedside saying this.

Job: 25
Dominion and awe belong to God;
    he establishes order in the heights of heaven.
Can his forces be numbered?
    On whom does his light not rise?
How then can a mortal be righteous before God?
    How can one born of woman be pure?
If even the moon is not bright
    and the stars are not pure in his eyes,
how much less a mortal, who is but a maggot—
    a human being, who is only a worm!”

You then have Job's answer. Mind you he is suffering so. He has not given up his faith in God. This is the last time that you will read about God letting his children suffer at the hands of the Evil one. It pains God to watch this. But most note worthy, and we must think of this in today's time. God never gave up on Job having faith in him(God).

Job 26: 1-4

How have you helped him who is without power?
How have you saved the arm that has no strength?
How have you counseled one who has no wisdom?
And how have you declared sound advice to many?
To whom have you uttered words?
And whose spirit came from you?

Job 27: 6
My righteousness I hold fast  and I will not let go. My heart shall not reproach me as long as I live.

Dedication and faith at the lowest point in this mans life. We can all take a lesson. Although Jesus died and was the sacrificial lamb for us all. We still need to know that suffering by any means is minuscule to that of Job.

Rejoice Always In The Lord

During the years after Jesus walked the earth many were sent to  the nations to preach and teach the Gospels (the good word). One of the most interesting and dually committed was Paul. He ventured out to some hostile places. He was persistent. He stuck to it. He died teaching and preaching. He had a tremendous, non- moving faith. Just think Paul was once Saul. One who tortured people who believed in God. Paul gave many instruction. The how to, to being a Christian.

I Thessalonians: 5:12-18

And we urge you, brethren, to recognize those who labor among you, and are over you in the Lord and admonish you, and to esteem them very highly in love for their work’s sake. Be at peace among yourselves.

Now we exhort you, brethren, warn those who are unruly, comfort the fainthearted, uphold the weak, be patient with all. See that no one renders evil for evil to anyone, but always pursue what is good both for yourselves and for all.

Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, in everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.

Crisis Credit And Conscience

If you were an outsider looking in, you would think that our world was in crisis mode. That God doesn't get enough credit for keeping his end of his bargain. That the evil ones continue to do evil without any semblance of conscience. News flash. The world is in the place that it should be. Remember, we are in this world but not necessarily of this world.

Psalm 37:1-40

Fret not yourself because of evildoers;
    be not envious of wrongdoers!
For they will soon fade like the grass
    and wither like the green herb.
Trust in the Lord, and do good;
    dwell in the land and befriend faithfulness.
Delight yourself in the Lord,
    and he will give you the desires of your heart.
Commit your way to the Lord;
    trust in him, and he will act.
He will bring forth your righteousness as the light,
    and your justice as the noonday.
Be still before the Lord and wait patiently for him;
    fret not yourself over the one who prospers in his way,
    over the man who carries out evil devices!
Refrain from anger, and forsake wrath!
    Fret not yourself; it tends only to evil.
For the evildoers shall be cut off,
    but those who wait for the Lord shall inherit the land.
In just a little while, the wicked will be no more;
    though you look carefully at his place, he will not be there.
But the meek shall inherit the land
    and delight themselves in abundant peace.
The wicked plots against the righteous
    and gnashes his teeth at him,
but the Lord laughs at the wicked,
    for he sees that his day is coming.
The wicked draw the sword and bend their bows
    to bring down the poor and needy,
    to slay those whose way is upright;
their sword shall enter their own heart,
    and their bows shall be broken.
Better is the little that the righteous has
    than the abundance of many wicked.
For the arms of the wicked shall be broken,
    but the Lord upholds the righteous.
The Lord knows the days of the blameless,
    and their heritage will remain forever;
they are not put to shame in evil times;
    in the days of famine they have abundance.
But the wicked will perish;
    the enemies of the Lord are like the glory of the pastures;
    they vanish—like smoke they vanish away.
The wicked borrows but does not pay back,
    but the righteous is generous and gives;
for those blessed by the Lord shall inherit the land,
    but those cursed by him shall be cut off.
The steps of a man are established by the Lord,
    when he delights in his way;
though he fall, he shall not be cast headlong,
    for the Lord upholds his hand.
I have been young, and now am old,
    yet I have not seen the righteous forsaken
    or his children begging for bread.
He is ever lending generously,
    and his children become a blessing.
Turn away from evil and do good;
    so shall you dwell forever.
For the Lord loves justice;
    he will not forsake his saints.
They are preserved forever,
    but the children of the wicked shall be cut off.
The righteous shall inherit the land
    and dwell upon it forever.
The mouth of the righteous utters wisdom,
    and his tongue speaks justice.
The law of his God is in his heart;
    his steps do not slip.
The wicked watches for the righteous
    and seeks to put him to death.
The Lord will not abandon him to his power
    or let him be condemned when he is brought to trial.
Wait for the Lord and keep his way,
    and he will exalt you to inherit the land;
    you will look on when the wicked are cut off.
I have seen a wicked, ruthless man,
    spreading himself like a green laurel tree.
But he passed away, and behold, he was no more;
    though I sought him, he could not be found.
Mark the blameless and behold the upright,
    for there is a future for the man of peace.
But transgressors shall be altogether destroyed;
    the future of the wicked shall be cut off.
The salvation of the righteous is from the Lord;
    he is their stronghold in the time of trouble.
The Lord helps them and delivers them;
    he delivers them from the wicked and saves them,
    because they take refuge in him

Peace A Reflection Of The Soul, Turmoil The Total Opposite.

Our lives can be like a roller coaster ride. We go at it(life) at such a high rate of speed. It isn't hard to imagine missing the simplest of  things. Yes, we assume that our family knows that we love them. Do we stop to tell them directly? Yes, our office mate may be rude and uncaring. Have we sat down to discuss how uncomfortable it is to work around him or her? No, we did not get the kudos we deserve from a friend, a family member or a boss. Does that mean God does not know what is in our hearts? The answer to all of these questions take time to ponder. There is no need to rush through life with turmoil constantly encompassing you. Why not slow down let a little peace into your life? You will live longer. And your resolve will be so much better. Amen.

Romans 15:13 May God, the source of hope, fill you with all joy and peace by means of your faith in him, so that your hope will continue to grow by the power of the Holy Spirit.

How Dare You?

There are more then enough hypocrites through out the world less alone in the church. During the days Jesus walked this earth, if there was anything that got to him it was this type of person. One who professes to be walking in the holiness of God. One who quotes the scripture like it was part of his or her dressing for work. One who criticizes and downs others for not being good enough for God. How dare they? What in the world allows one to be so harsh in judgement? If you look at those ancient biblical times how many oh how many were sinners, murderers, prostitutes, considered to be the lowest of the low? Did Jesus pass judgement? No. In fact he used those very people to make his point. We are all one step away from being the lowest of the low. God does not look at us this way. If our hearts are clean, and we have good intention. If we are giving without conditions. We are Gods children. If we learn to humble ourselves and repent of our sins ( and yes, we will sin!) we are Gods children. No one has a right to judge. We need to be mindful of that ourselves.

James 5:13-16
Is anyone among you suffering? Let him pray. Is anyone cheerful? Let him sing praise. Is anyone among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the church, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord. And the prayer of faith will save the one who is sick, and the Lord will raise him up. And if he has committed sins, he will be forgiven. Therefore, confess your sins to one another and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person has great power as it is working.

God You Are My Motivation

I often think of the story of Moses going to the mountain to have a talk one on one with God. While he was there, the very people he was leading to the promised land, turned on God and begin to act a total fool. Can you imagine what a disappointment this was to God and to Moses? Whew! I shun the thought. The world in which we live can be perceived in the very same way. We are Gods children not of the world. There is so much evil and strife around us. We truly need to have our one on one with God everyday. It is so very important to do so. The spirit of God should live within us. However, we must remember to feed our spirits a steady diet including God every single day of our lives.

Thessalonians 5:17 Never Stop Praying

Does God Protect Me From Evil?

David says it all in his song to the Lord.

Psalm 24:1-10

The earth is the Lord's and the fullness thereof,
    the world and those who dwell therein,
for he has founded it upon the seas
    and established it upon the rivers.
Who shall ascend the hill of the Lord?
    And who shall stand in his holy place?
He who has clean hands and a pure heart,
    who does not lift up his soul to what is false
    and does not swear deceitfully.
He will receive blessing from the Lord
    and righteousness from the God of his salvation.
Such is the generation of those who seek him,
    who seek the face of the God of Jacob. Selah
Lift up your heads, O gates!
    And be lifted up, O ancient doors,
    that the King of glory may come in.
Who is this King of glory?
    The Lord, strong and mighty,
    the Lord, mighty in battle!
Lift up your heads, O gates!
    And lift them up, O ancient doors,
    that the King of glory may come in.
Who is this King of glory?
    The Lord of hosts,
    he is the King of glory! Selah

To Have A Kindred Spirit

The book of Proverbs written by Solomon gives us an insight, and instruction of Gods expectations. Of course interpreted by this wise King himself. We as human beings are on the most part very social. We need to be amongst our kind. Unfortunately our world has become so desensitized to being friendly. Everything seems to have a price tag on it. God never intended that. To love and cherish your fellow man is the way it should be. We have made that simple task so complicated. Here through the eyes of Solomon do you see how and what friendship should entail.

Proverbs 18

An unfriendly person pursues selfish ends
    and against all sound judgment starts quarrels.
Fools find no pleasure in understanding
    but delight in airing their own opinions.
When wickedness comes, so does contempt,
    and with shame comes reproach.
The words of the mouth are deep waters,
    but the fountain of wisdom is a rushing stream.
It is not good to be partial to the wicked
    and so deprive the innocent of justice.
The lips of fools bring them strife,
    and their mouths invite a beating.
The mouths of fools are their undoing,
    and their lips are a snare to their very lives.
The words of a gossip are like choice morsels;
    they go down to the inmost parts.
One who is slack in his work
    is brother to one who destroys.
The name of the Lord is a fortified tower;
    the righteous run to it and are safe.
The wealth of the rich is their fortified city;
    they imagine it a wall too high to scale.
Before a downfall the heart is haughty,
    but humility comes before honor.
To answer before listening—
    that is folly and shame.
The human spirit can endure in sickness,
    but a crushed spirit who can bear?
The heart of the discerning acquires knowledge,
    for the ears of the wise seek it out.
A gift opens the way
    and ushers the giver into the presence of the great.
In a lawsuit the first to speak seems right,
    until someone comes forward and cross-examines.
Casting the lot settles disputes
    and keeps strong opponents apart.
A brother wronged is more unyielding than a fortified city;
    disputes are like the barred gates of a citadel.
From the fruit of their mouth a person’s stomach is filled;
    with the harvest of their lips they are satisfied.
The tongue has the power of life and death,
    and those who love it will eat its fruit.
He who finds a wife finds what is good
    and receives favor from the Lord.
The poor plead for mercy,
    but the rich answer harshly.
One who has unreliable friends soon comes to ruin,
    but there is a friend who sticks closer than a brother

A Little Kindness Goes A Long Way

You can never judge someone until you have walked in their shoes. Many people are homeless. The school year is about to begin. Instead of buying school supplies and giving them to organizations that give them out. Go to a homeless shelter see what the needs are. Or call. When Jesus walked this earth he visited many a town. People came out to hear his teaching. Many came out to be in his presence. But some actually wanted to touch him. Some wanted his touch. Jesus was not just a man who talked the talk. He actually walked the walk. We need to do the same.

Proverbs 19:17 Whoever is generous to the poor lends to the Lord,
                          and he will repay him for his deed.

Yes, God We Are Knocking

There are times that we look back at our lives and say with disgust, I know I could have done that better. Or I wish that would never have happened. This has come across most peoples minds. However if you know God and you know how he works, you could turn that anguish into, I could have done that better, but God I know you had me. What is the lesson that I should take from this, not to do it again? When you know and have faith that God has your steps already ordered. And to become a person who relies solely on him, by walking in faith shows God that he too has to fulfill his part of the bargain. He promised that he would supply all of your needs.

Matthew 7:7
Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you.

Lifting God Up With Song

In the day of Christianities infancy, there were no "churches". There were temples. And they were well established places that politics, rituals, commerce took place. And only the most holy were allowed inside. The praising of the Lord for the "simple" people were done in homes. One or more would gather and the worship was done through hymns. Prayer was sung as opposed to a preacher standing in front of the gathering. Now when Jesus walked the earth his gatherings from mostly the curious were powerful teachings. In today's world both have become the way one  may receive the word and praise God.
It is not uncommon to practice singing praises right in your home. It is not unworthy to praise God in your own way. The way to praise God is not written in stone. As long as your intention is good within your heart. As long as you have faith. As long as you put God before you and anything else, your voice is still heard by God.

Psalm 150: 1-6

Praise the Lord!
Praise God in his sanctuary; ( not necessarily church)
    praise him in his mighty heavens!
Praise him for his mighty deeds;
    praise him according to his excellent greatness!
Praise him with trumpet sound;
    praise him with lute and harp!
Praise him with tambourine and dance;
    praise him with strings and pipe!
Praise him with sounding cymbals;
    praise him with loud clashing cymbals!
Let everything that has breath praise the Lord!
Praise the Lord!

The Fake And The Phonie

Have you ever been around a person shouting and proclaiming to be so spiritual? But there's something about them that isn't quite right? God just doesn't seem to be anywhere around them. It is the strangest sense of empty. No warmth. I imagine Jesus encountered this with the Rabbi's and the hierarchy in the Synagogues of his day. Everyone seemed to be going through the motions of honoring "God" but their heart just wasn't in it. That unconditional giving just wasn't their. You see evidence of the total disregard for God when Jesus goes completely off in the temple. How dare these people allow commerce and trade? Selling and barginning in the house of the Lord? This very thing goes on in some of the Mega churches of today. We have to be aware of the wolf in sheeps clothing. The hypocrite.

Matthew 7:5 You hypocrite, first take the log out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to take the speck out of your brother's eye.

Matthew 23: 13-15 But woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you shut the kingdom of heaven in people's faces. For you neither enter yourselves nor allow those who would enter to go in. Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you travel across sea and land to make a single proselyte, and when he becomes a proselyte, you make him twice as much a child of hell as yourselves.

Be Strong And Courageous

Often times when faced with doubt, fear, challenges, the first thing we do is try to handle it ourselves. Forgetting that God said: Joshua 1:9 Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the LORD your God will be with you wherever you go. We are so accustomed to the me I world of today, it is common practice to engage in fixing it right away. There is always a lesson to be taught in life and its circumstances. If we would take the time to: Psalm 27:4 Wait for the LORD; be strong and take heart and wait for the LORD.  And know that: Psalm 28:7 The LORD is my strength and my shield; my heart trusts in him, and he helps me. My heart leaps for joy, and with my song I praise him, is the solution we would have no worries. Faith would be the strongest thing we need.

Calamine Lotion, Iodine, Or A Bandaid

If you were born in the late fifties early sixties, going outside playing was like the thing to do. The only time you stayed in the house was if you were really sick or the weather did not permit you to. If you ran into something that caused a rash, mom would wash it off put the Calamine lotion on and you would get right back out there. If you fell off your bike( and we didn't have helmets), scraped a knee or an elbow you run in the house, mom would get out the dreaded stinging iodine and you would wear that orange stain for days until the wound scabbed up. You did not let any of this deter you from going outside to play. A bath and Ivory soap to end the evening a comic book or coloring put you right to sleep all to begin again the next day. And yes, during the week it was school. Imagine the task God has day in and day out. What he expects of us. Yes, our lives are filled with Calmine lotion experiences. Iodine hurts. But our faith in God really cures it all. We live in a fast paced world, it is so vital to remember who is in control.

Proverbs 4:20-22 My child, pay attention to what I say. Listen to my words. Never let them get away from you. Remember them and keep them in your heart. They will give life and health to anyone who understands them.

The Day Of The Lord Will Come

At this moment most people are adjusted to their comfort zone. That comfort zone could be in the fanciest of mansions. That comfort zone could be on a park bench in the park. But the human psyche learns to adjust. During the time that Joseph and Mary were fleeing the King and his orders to kill every first born son, they learned to adjust during a crisis. They had faith, they did what they were told. In those days before Jesus God spoke through angels to the people directly. We must remain in faith that God will return. And the day of the Lord will come.

2 Peter 3:10 But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up.

God is right where he has always been

The days activities become so routine we can almost close our eyes and momentum will keep us on that same track that we follow each day. When it comes to prayer and giving thanks to God it should be the same. However, there is more evil in the world then ever. Does that mean God has less of a presence? No it does not. It means that there are more lost souls out there. God is where he has always been. We who believe need to continue our "works". We need to give unconditionally from our hearts. And most of all we need to teach our children of God's mighty presence amongst us.

Deuteronomy 4:10 How on the day that you stood before the Lord your God at Horeb, the Lord said to me, ‘Gather the people to me, that I may let them hear my words, so that they may learn to fear me all the days that they live on the earth, and that they may teach their children so.’

Is There Always Pain In God's Answers?

How easy is it to reflect, to mull, to think that what happens to us is done to us on a personal, note? When an incident occurs, either to us directly or to someone we know there is a reason. Not all reasons are pleasant and fluffy and good. No, sometimes God has a lesson or a mission that we need to come face to face with. It is not always about "me". This is probably the hardest pill to swallow when it comes to our relationship with God. We think often to ourselves, "Why does it have to be so painful". It is part of the Grand Scheme of things. God's plan for us is so big and so laid out, we cannot fathom the outcome. All we can do is learn from every experience. Be grateful no matter how it hurts. We must know we are alive and there must be a reason we are that. Figure it from there. Prayer, meditation and faith will get you through.

Matthew 6:24
No one can serve two masters; for either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and wealth.

Lord I Pray, Have Mercy On My Soul

Ah, the wise King, Solomon. His words resound in today's world loudly. Though written centuries ago you can still pluck out the meaning of his writings with an eye opening approach. And wonder how did he know this so long ago?

Ecclesiastes 9

So I reflected on all this and concluded that the righteous and the wise and what they do are in God’s hands, but no one knows whether love or hate awaits them. All share a common destiny—the righteous and the wicked, the good and the bad, the clean and the unclean, those who offer sacrifices and those who do not.

As it is with the good,
    so with the sinful;
as it is with those who take oaths,
    so with those who are afraid to take them.
This is the evil in everything that happens under the sun: The same destiny overtakes all. The hearts of people, moreover, are full of evil and there is madness in their hearts while they live, and afterward they join the dead. Anyone who is among the living has hope—even a live dog is better off than a dead lion!

For the living know that they will die,
    but the dead know nothing;
they have no further reward,
    and even their name is forgotten.
Their love, their hate
    and their jealousy have long since vanished;
never again will they have a part
    in anything that happens under the sun.
Go, eat your food with gladness, and drink your wine with a joyful heart, for God has already approved what you do. Always be clothed in white, and always anoint your head with oil. Enjoy life with your wife, whom you love, all the days of this meaningless life that God has given you under the sun—all your meaningless days. For this is your lot in life and in your toilsome labor under the sun. Whatever your hand finds to do, do it with all your might, for in the realm of the dead, where you are going, there is neither working nor planning nor knowledge nor wisdom.

I have seen something else under the sun:

The race is not to the swift
    or the battle to the strong,
nor does food come to the wise
    or wealth to the brilliant
    or favor to the learned;
but time and chance happen to them all.
Moreover, no one knows when their hour will come:

As fish are caught in a cruel net,
    or birds are taken in a snare,
so people are trapped by evil times
    that fall unexpectedly upon them.
I also saw under the sun this example of wisdom that greatly impressed me: There was once a small city with only a few people in it. And a powerful king came against it, surrounded it and built huge siege works against it. Now there lived in that city a man poor but wise, and he saved the city by his wisdom. But nobody remembered that poor man. So I said, “Wisdom is better than strength.” But the poor man’s wisdom is despised, and his words are no longer heeded.

The quiet words of the wise are more to be heeded
    than the shouts of a ruler of fools.
Wisdom is better than weapons of war,
    but one sinner destroys much good
