Lifting God Up With Song

In the day of Christianities infancy, there were no "churches". There were temples. And they were well established places that politics, rituals, commerce took place. And only the most holy were allowed inside. The praising of the Lord for the "simple" people were done in homes. One or more would gather and the worship was done through hymns. Prayer was sung as opposed to a preacher standing in front of the gathering. Now when Jesus walked the earth his gatherings from mostly the curious were powerful teachings. In today's world both have become the way one  may receive the word and praise God.
It is not uncommon to practice singing praises right in your home. It is not unworthy to praise God in your own way. The way to praise God is not written in stone. As long as your intention is good within your heart. As long as you have faith. As long as you put God before you and anything else, your voice is still heard by God.

Psalm 150: 1-6

Praise the Lord!
Praise God in his sanctuary; ( not necessarily church)
    praise him in his mighty heavens!
Praise him for his mighty deeds;
    praise him according to his excellent greatness!
Praise him with trumpet sound;
    praise him with lute and harp!
Praise him with tambourine and dance;
    praise him with strings and pipe!
Praise him with sounding cymbals;
    praise him with loud clashing cymbals!
Let everything that has breath praise the Lord!
Praise the Lord!
