Repay no one evil for evil, but give thought to do what is honorable in the sight of all. If possible, so far as it depends on you, live peaceably with all. Beloved, never avenge yourselves, but leave it to the wrath of God, for it is written,“Vengeance is mine, I will repay, says the Lord.” To the contrary, “if your enemy is hungry, feed him; if he is thirsty, give him something to drink; for by so doing you will heap burning coals on his head.” Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.
It is very easy to dismiss these words as passive. Dishonorable. The talk of a bible toting Jesus freak. Yes, many do and many have continue using this passage as that. Here is the abundantly clear message. Just because evil steps to you does not mean that you have to step to it in the same fashion. In fact the devils manifesto will whip you everytime. No, this passage says the only thing that you can count on is bigger then you and evil. Disarm your enemy. He or she will not expect the nonchalant ness. You see the enemy likes to be savvy, cunning and think that they can go through their paths being predictable and full of destruction. Yes, disarm them by not engaging. This does not mean lie down and whimp out. Just the opposite. The battle is not yours its the lords. When you put it in his hands he will give you instruction. There is nothing like the lords word or his army. Remember who got tossed out of it.
