The Enabler

How many times do we run to the rescue of some one that we think we are helping, but we are actually harming them unbeknownst to us? Harming by not letting them see for themselves how or what to do for themselves. It is almost as though we feel guilty that it is our fault something got missed along the way. That because we may have mis stepped this person may need us to help make all those mis steps up to them. Let's imagine God in an enabling position, which he was through out the Bible. He kept trying where the people were concerned, providing them with their every need. They (the people) soon became disrespectful. Non trustworthy. Non-caring of one another. Terrible people. God punished this behavior on more then one occasion as well. He shook his head and thought of a solution. That solution was his son Jesus . If the people were able to see. To touch. To hear a real live breathing man, God  figured that his enabling would subside.

John 3:16

For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.
